@HDXFH I think someone used the wrong AC adapter at one point. The audio amp is connected directly to the DC jack without a fuse, so it was the first thing to burn up. The rest of the monitor went through the 2A fuse.
Oh my... I was so nervous that you were going to get an electrical shock. The back of those TV's says do not open unless you are a qualified musician. You shouldn't do that unless you are qualified and wear insulated rubber boots.
Now that's what I'd call getting seriously lucky...someone uses the wrong power adapter and not only does the fuse actually (mostly) *work* to save the day, but only a simple audio amp IC burns...!
I know that envelope! You got it from littlediode_usa, for sure. I had to order a frequency divider chip for that old CDX combo organ and they were one of the few online that carried them. And I love the fuse rig!
nice work again! i'd like to watch your repair video's, very interesting and helpful, if ever my monitor or TV stops working.
i mostly repair tape recorders and audio equipment, but never get around to do video's...i have just recapped a Akai GX-365d reel to reel deck...needed a lot of work..diodes...sparkkillers...caps...transisistors..but it came along fine and sounds fine now :)

@uxwbill Ya, I was surprised that the fuse actually saved something. Odd that the audio amp is un-fused though!

That was a very expensive monitor.

With all these monitor and TV repairs I've seen in these videos, if any of the monitors or TVs I have go wrong here I'll know more or less what to do

@Organgrinder010 Yep, Little Diode. I edited the video there because it showed my address LOL.
As for the fuse, I forgot to show that I did end up getting the proper Pico fuse.

@Maxxarcade Really!? That's a pretty sweet find considering how much a 3DO actually costs!
