Hate comments that clearly show a lack of knowledge. Rottweilers are known and famous for being great nannies. They love kids and the whole family.

As long as you don't get a Rottweiler as a dick extension, and socialize and train it properly - they are amazing dogs.

I've had dogs my entire life, bred and showed them. Got a Rottweiler now. He's great with kids. And allows them to do whatever they want with him.

I mean I love my dogs, but you're right; bigger dogs are just less aggressive. (And mind you, the chihuahuas grew up in a totally mellow, non violent home. My Last Rottie would rather lie and sleep on the hard tile in the kitchen, he got calluses from doing that. My present Rottie will only sleep on the carpet in bedroom or living room. He will sleep on grass outside when he is outdoors, and he has no calluses.

Rotties are honestly my favourite breed. So wonderful, gentle, playful, calm, and protective if they need to be. Mine is so dumb but so sweet. He also seems to really understand babies, not one has attacked him yet!

@xxPageProxx So are humans. You don't usually see it because humans, just like DOMESTICATED animals, are trained to not act on emotions like rage. However, think of all the cases of shaken baby syndrome, where parents who normally love their child, go into a state of rage and kill it.

Domesticated animals have about the same chance of breaking down as people do. Which is VERY low and this chance can be minimized by simply watching the child. (Children should never be left alone with an animal)
