His parents died (don't remember when, but it's mentioned several times), he also possessed Death inside of him for more or less 10 years and suppressed him, while also boosting his natural powers. And he didn't die, his souls is guarding the world. In theory, it's possible he'll live in P5 or later, as even Elizabeth is looking for a way to save him.

Actually for those that want to know the VA for P4's MC is Johnny Yong Bosch (Vash the Stampede, Ichigo Kurosaki, etc.) Whereas the VA for P3's MC is Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke Uchiha, Suzaku Kururugi, etc.).

Oddly enough however Yuri does have a speaking role in P4 as Yosuke Hanamura.

You'll want to get rid of Izanagi at some point in the first dungeon, he only learns a few spells and one physical attack and is weak compared to some of the other Personae you find later. Besides, you can always re-summon him from the Compendium in the Velvet Room. During the New Game+ you can create a new version of Izanagi that more or less destroys everything in his path.

You know, when I first saw the main character look awaken to his persona, and he smiled, I thought it was a bit stupid and cliche. But after playing the game fully, and this one as well, I realize something; it wasn't to make them look cool in the traditional bad ass way, but to show us something. That they already knew who they were, and didn't need some grandiose complex plot to figure it out. They always knew who they were, and it made them smile to see themselves reflected so well.
