The entire Mid-Suburban League is the toughest conference in the State year in and year out They always have the toughest Wrestlers and athletes place in any sport, Mt Carmel Cherry picks athletes Joe Williams could have gone to Mattoon High School and still would have won 4 state titles
actually it was TJ Williams that was DQ'd from the slam, I believe... There were a lot of good wrestlers to come out of illinois, Lindsay Durlacher came from Buffalo Grove HS, and he was friggin amazing as well
I saw Williams in his final state tournament and he was amazing to watch. He dominated every moment of the tournament and breezed his was to his 4th state title.
@sugnasty2000 "breezed'??? It wasn't even a major decision. He nearly pinned himself in the 1st period!! He was clearly the more talented wrestler, but was very complacent in that match at times. Gable beat that out of him though!
actually williams use to scare gable when he wrestled for iowa because hed coast if he got a big lead instead of continuing to poor it on like ironside or mcilravy
So what? Are you going to go to every Joe Williams video and post this same thing. He is still the best wrestler to come out of the state of Illinois by far
Joe was the best. I wrestled against his high school (mt. carmel) in IL. He only lost one match in high school and that was because he slammed someone and they DQ'ed him. His brothers are/were awesome wrestlers as well. I was actually at this tournament in Champaign IL.
Me 2, he use 2 be skinny as hell lol
