It amazes me that some people can say these things about the players in this. Are we watching the same video? It's flippin spot on! Nardia would drum circles around almost anyone in the future or in the past. Listen to Visions of the emerald beyond by Mahavishnu Orchestra. I don't know much about Rhonda, but she's smokin here!
yeah ok , i saw the tour with Walden and he was as good as he was back in the old days , Rhonda was a sight for sore eyes and Jason was as awesome as always
I didnt mean to bash anyone here , I was just totally bummed that Vinnie and Tal were not in the line up as I had bought my ticket way before he announced the new band ..........i was NOT dissapointed at ALL in the show , it totally kicked some major ass ....hope he rolls through here again before life ends !
Sterpf, Coal1987 and Bschuit... You're obviously not players. If you are... go back to your Metallica records. Sorry, but Walden and Smith are wicked players... and it was Walden who played on the original version of 'Led Boots' (on Wired, an album for which he wrote most of the tunes... though keysman Max Middletone wrote '... Boots'). You may miss Vinnie and Tal, but don't take it out on these two. Not only do they not deserve the abuse... You look like idiots.
Why should I email you for more info? Unless of course you want to try and sell me an unauthorized recording?
If I want DVD's like this, they're likely already available for FREE AND WITHOUT CHARGE at sites like THE TRADERS DEN and DIMEADOZEN. (And from the look of things, you like to download things from those sites and sell them. That's illegal, by the way...)
Remember Folks - Don't be a sucker. NEVER PAY FOR YOUR LIVE CONCERT DVD'S!!!!
Caught their show last Monday @Wolftrap. Rhonda doesn't suck. 10 years playing bass with Prince prompted a more funky performance from Beck. Jeff Beck was incredible! Hasn't softened at all.
I was entranced by Jeff Beck and Narada Michael Walden more than 30 years ago. I must have listened to "Wired" a thousand times since then. I've also recently heard some amazing cuts of Vinnie Colaiuta covering the drum parts of those classic songs. Vinnie is very good, but Narada was there first. Tonight I go to here them both live in Boston. A great show and a dream come true.
havent seen the new Beck yet but I have my tickets for 6/23/10 in Cincinati, OH. I never saw a show like Beck, Bozio, Hymas touring with SRV in 1990. Beck's band was amazing and touring the Guitar Shop Album. Never saw anything like that! Ever! Bozio was amazing. No, I'm not a drummer, but I know a good one when I hear one. I play guitar but nowhere near the level Beck plays. WHO DOES?
Interesting comments about Vinnie C. who we all agree is world class. Not many drummers can outplay Vinnie C., but Narada happens to be one of them. It's like comparing Jan Hammer to Chick corea-Chick wins but Hammer is definitely no slouch.
Jeff's new band and show are fabulous. We were treated to his Grammy winners Dirty Mind and A Day in the Life, Rollin and Tumblin, People Get Ready, Brush with the Blues, and Sly Stones Wanna Take You Higher. Top it off with Jeff playing one of his new oxblood Les Paul signature replica's on How High the Moon. Outstanding sound, one of the most memorable performances I've ever seen. He's never been better.
I have only one question , WHY in the fuck would you rid of the best rythm section EVER you had with Vinnie and Tal to have this band ...............typical Jeff Beck move !
Oh, By the way who was it that helped you get your precious fucking Granny award ?
@zappalaney Well he's up for 5 this year. Tal & Vinnie are on the CD. They may very well have been busy with other things. Michael Walden has a pretty strong resume that doesn't take a back seat to any drummer. Might want to check it out. Next thing you're gonna start raggin on Jason
No surprise you're yawning. You'd have to be asleep to think that Vinnie could out do Walden, especially on Becks gig.
I was Vinnie last year with Beck, he was good.
I saw Walden with Beck two nights ago. He was fucking UNBELIEVABLE.
His DW kit made Vinnies Gretch kit sound like wet cardboard and his playing was so out of this world that Im betting if you asked Vinnie, he'd agree that Walden shat all over him.
yeah ok....i saw the toronto show, your boy was struggling big time, i would even say out of breath of couple times. Theres no comparison between a world class drummer like vinnie, and your part time gig guy...
you are obviously not a drummer....if you were, you would know that Vinnie is regarded as one of the best , most verstile and dynamic drummers in history!!
@drums2play1 :"you are obviously not a drummer" ..So what? I'm a working muso who does around 150 dates a year, from solo to 5 pce bands. You sit at home videoing yourself playing drums to no one. Your point?.;p)
And yes I know Vinnie is held in high regard. I've seen him over the years many time, including with Joni, Sting, Boz Scaggs, Beck etc etc. In my view, he's tiresome in the Beck group, plays SO much you soon have to tune out to him to enjoy the main man.
That drummer is power tight rite on the groove bad ass

Here's your answer: Walden and Smith shit all over Vinnie and Tal. Seriously.
I mean I was knocked out when I saw them play with Beck last year.
But Walden and Smith knocked them out of the ball park this year.
Oh and btw, Beck won the Grammy.
Not Vinnie or Tal
