I'm guessing this machine also relies on antique dust collection- your lungs and broom. Very cool video, thanks for posting.

Howdy, very cool stuff! I'm looking at buying an old planer a friend of mine has. Is it at all possible to get replacement blades for these rigs??

@OscarCommie It is. Drop me an email at inwoodcutter@yahoo.com and we can discuss your machine.

Haha, i re-read your comment and it says 'flat belts'.... not 'flat beds'.
my mistake. anyway, good luck with the machine!

nice, would love to it for real. why did you shorten the flat beds?
@giliam74 I'm not sure what you mean by "shorten the flat beds. This is a pony style planer not a woodworth style. the infeed and outfeed beds are supposed to be that long.

Nice....Did you have to refurb this unit?

The most I've had to do is simple maintenance and tune up. Things like adjusting the chip breaker, replacing knives, and shortening the flat belts.
Ain't sharp knives wunnerful!
