Ricky, thank for share this wonderful story about Marlee Matlin. I have always admire her courageous to face in hearing world and stand up for us deafies. Way go Ricky!
Ridor, that's an awesome vlog you've made about the SnapVRS bought Viable. Thanks for announcing to let us know. It's good to trust your friend that knows more about other sources than the company or people.
As you mentioned in your vlog that you appreciate Deaf being in control of their lives, I am one of those Deaf. I grew up in a hearing world, mainstreamed schools, etc etc, I have stood up for myself many times and never put on a pity act.
I learnt that from Mr. Bragg when I met him back in 1992 or '93. I have a story there for that ha ha. Anyways. Kudos to Marlee!
I add that there are employees bound by non-disclosure agreements and they'd do anything to keep their own job. Going off the point--why aren't you joining the Deaflympics DeafNation brass at Taipei? If not I only can guess that's because there's not enough fresh and ripe Mormon boys.
LOL! Actually, I'd love to go to Taipei but you can thank the bad economy for putting me off the dreams of attending Deaflympics in Taipei but I will force myself to plan ahead for 2013 Summer Deaflympics in Athens, Greece!
Wait a minute? Are you required to pay your way to work for DeafNation? Why didn't DeafNation utilize your services in Taipei? It's a sham if any business or organization requires media to pay their own way and in some cases admission. Several did and it backfired on them. Spectacularly. I know someone wrote about it for DeafNation only to be censored. That tells you why deaf isn't always the only one wrong =)
There are people who say "I don't know" when they know. They get off the hook as far as liability is concerned. That's why the word "deny" is used in media. It's just a procedural. This isn't surprising considering people (thru Viable Vision) reported they saw an Ojo in John Yeh's office before VPAD (which was already picked) came. Snap executives paid a visit to Viable's headquarters long before the VPAD was first distributed. But, I'm unsure if it was Snap's past or present executives visited.
Wow, I didn't see that show. If I saw that, I would stand up and salute her for sure. She has some balls.....GO, GIRL! Oh wait...she borrowed your balls, Ridor?!? Awesome! LOL :P
Anyway, if you're reading this, Marlee....you go girl!
I totally died when Marlee did the "unthinkable", showing being "Deaf centered" on a frickin' national TV! About time. I've seen everything and more... Kudos to Marlee!

The more Deaf people do not lose their dignity by groveling towards hearies, the better we are off living on our own!
