  • In the beginning man strapped an engine on to a bicycle to go faster, honda is obviosly doing the opposite with Goldwing and strappes the frame on to the engine :P.

  • Try this beautiful bike in Europe with Road2luxe : the rental specialist of Honda Goldwing in France.

  • I downloaded 5 F R E E Motorcycle Manuals Here - ** freemotorcyclemanuals (dot) net **

  • I have an 08 and I'm surprised to see that they actually check the cruise control and throttle action. Mine was way out of adjustment and the adjusters were loose. Otherwise I love it, the best bike I've ever owned

  • hugebear53: I honestly believe that dealers mess wit the bikes to get repeat business. When you take it in for service you will leave the shop with soon to be discovered problems that they created. Used to happen to me all the time with my Volkswagen. The car was in the shop more than on the road. The car didn't suck, the dealer did.

  • ...for example, the installation of the microwave and the shower compartment.

  • It's funny how they describe some bits in great detail and leave other important steps out entirely.

  • take a look on "goldwing gl 1800 alpine"

  • i dream about this bike...

  • Quit dreaming and go get you one! I have 25k on my 08, I've live in Atlanta and have been to S Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Colorado......etc... I got 14k on the original Dumflops then put a set of Avon Cobras on. Not satisified with them, I want the Venom R back!!! The rear wore out in about 6k, it looked like I'd been doing burnouts. Front tire still looks good at 25k. I put a Flop E3 on the rear and it seems to be holding up very well.

  • cool.

  • The GL1500 looks so much better than the GL1800. The headlight are horrible on the 1800s.

  • Hey check out my video about one of Germanys biggest Gold Wing meeting.

Hope you folks will enjoy it.

  • The company I work for makes the exhaust systems and the saddlebags. I've toured the plant twice at Honda Homecoming, and dealt with them on Quality issues. I'll miss working with them!

  • "front cow" is it?

  • LOL,

I'd like to get *a side* of that cow. What a slice. Cool vid though.

  • The Goldwing plant is in Marysville, Ohio, USA. Next year assembly will be moved to Japan.

  • Canada...there are also plants in Indiana and Alabama.

  • hold on a sec, what country are these goldwings made in,theres a lot of european faces in the factory, i thought they were made in japan .?

  • Goldwings are built in Ohio...

At least were built in Ohio. Sadly, production is moving to Japan. :(

  • @pureluck2

I have never geard that Honda will move production of the Goldwing to Japan. Where have you heard such news?

  • i dont know much about goldwings, but thats a lot of weight on 2 tyres, so yes they will wear out quick,

  • very nice video thanks for posting

I am a bike Goldwing years 2006. I have 69 years old. I don t speak english, sorry.

    Tks,

  • damn, they make it look so simple! I wish I had all the same tools.

  • Yep Ranger802 you are right, I make this stuff up for the fun of it. Anyway, the bearings were replaced and they put on a set of Metzler tires. It still wobbles very much. They corrected the alignment and it runs straight now.

  • Honda needs to spend more time around 3:00 mins in this video. My 4 month old GL1800 is at the dealer for the 3rd time due to front-end wobble between 35-45 mph. Mine also pulls to the right - out of alignment. Dealer can't seem to fix. My HD Ultra never had this problem - drove straight & true, but no power.

  • My 03 has been flawless. Sorry to hear about your problems. They are the exception rather than the rule.

  • Ironic timing. I'm taking it in for the 5th time this week. Now it is 8 months old with 11,000 miles. The wobble eats my front tire so this will be number tire set number 3. I've taken 2 service techs and 1 manager for a ride and they all agree there is a problem. They are finally going to tear the the thing down. I love the bike but this one problem really gets to me. Curious, how many miles do you get out of a front tire?

  • Now, let me qualify this statement by saying that I ride mine pretty hard in the mountains where I live. Lots of tar and gravel roads. I get about 6000 miles out of a set. yea, im hard on em. Mine wear out about half way to the sides first. I have Elite 3's on it at the moment. This summer these will be gone and I think I may try that new Avon tire.

  • Thank you. I'm pretty confident given how flat and straight Florida is that I'm not as hard on my front tire. The guys I've asked say 10-20 thousand depending on riding style. Thanks again and safe riding.

  • Did they fix it? I put 16,000 miles on my first set. The back one had at least 2 punctures leaking slowly. I have metzlers now w/about 7,000 miles on them and the front is "cupping" (same as the others). It makes a vibrating/wobble under 40-45mph but it's really unnoticable unless you let go of the handlebars and watch it happen. I've read that the stock front shock can be upgraded to prevent this(not sure). I figure it's due to extreme cornering/scraping pegs, etc. I wish I had mud tires too!

  • My GL1800 is 14 months old with 18k miles. In the next 2k miles I will have my 4th set (front & rear) tires put on. I don't believe all this talk about the tires being the problem ... I went from Bridgestone to Metzler to Dunlop and after 1.5k to 2.5k miles the cupping starts and the wobble/vibration gets unbearable. I've been to the dealer 5 times and spoke to Honda Corp in CA which told me to try different dealers. I've spent over $2500 between tires and shops work to correct. Won't warranty.

  • I have 11,000+ on my 08 GW & tires still look great. Luckily I have never had any problems with the vibration/wobbling. I have a couple plugs in the back tire that have been there since the first 2,000 miles.

  • This season the metzlers must have 'broke-in' because I have no woble at all. (04 with 25k miles)

Wow plugs... i got some in my saddle bag with a foot pump but I don't want to ever use them. I wish i couldget some grippier (dirt)-road tires that fit the gl1800.

I don't like punchures and i'm fairly adventurous on my goldwing (and spoiled by it too) and sometimes traction is nice on an 800 lb. veh. (can't wait for the christini fwd system!) lol

  • Great video! Wow, that engine is heavy at 225 pounds--

  • No embedding, just about as sad as a ging.

  • You're right. Changed.

  • Fantastic. Same colour as mine too!
