it took me a long time to overcome my unappreciation for hip-hop. Especially since you only hear the generic, shitty branches of it on the radio. Now this, this is a genuine masterpiece.

You know... I've been diving head over heals into underground hip hop for about a year and a half now. Everyday, nonstop. And, I must admit, there are days when I'm like "Damn, didn't find anything new today that struck me that hard". And sometimes I even wonder "Have I reached the point of diminishing returns?" This... this is not one of those days.
@funkbilled Yeah if I recall correctly this, as well as his first EP "Jazzamentals" were released as a free download. However I bought my copy directly from Skipless, and I recommend that people do the same. It's pretty rare to find young producers who are looking for this type of sound.
