And the Americans pulled out knowing full well that the south wouldn't be able to hold off the combined forces of the Vietcong and Vietminh. The main reason they pulled out was because they were under pressure from the American public to do so, and they knew it was a war that couldn't be won.

Japan and South Korea do have some problems still from the past but now in the modern world, the younger generations of the two countries are integrating their nations' economies, cultures (Jpop, Kpop) and increasing military co-operation (Recent US-SK-JPN naval/air exercises in the Sea of Korea/Japan).

Japan has a lot of grievances towards Russia, China and NK and they will NOT hesitate to link arms with their American and South Korean allies to advance their territorial interests.

Russia does have a ton of equipment but much of it is obselete or unusable, and its large army is officer heavy, corrupt and lacking in training in many parts. Spetnaz though is absolute first class.

Europe on the other hand, have very well trained soldiers with a high emphasis on tech.
