  • hahaa I love this shyt!!!

  • FUCK NASCAR!

  • @itzpacmanx9

    your stupid

  • I was at this race. Mean while on my way back to Lancaster Sc, I got a call telling me my house was burning to the ground. Hell of a show though.

  • What an asshole! Orange car totally slammed in to the other guy coming out of the final corner! Is this the best NASCAR has to offer?

  • @1ceman85 thats racing man

  • @1ceman85 Lol at least the cars can touch without wrecking unlike f1

  • I was in Disney world watching this race... We just got to the hotel and i remember being amazed at how close it war.

  • why such high line in Darlington ?

  • @ooUooUoo more grip

  • Like the end of "Days of Thunder"

  • cravenaven got him LOL

  • Ricky was my favorite driver and I remember watching this race and getting so excited that my dog was upset and barking at me! It was a great finish and I was so glad Ricky Craven pulled this race off.....great stuff!

  • DW was right, the only way Craven Won that was because he was in a Pontiac. They always had the larger noses. Another reason nascars gone downhill. No difference with manufactures now

  • CRAVEN GOT EM

  • NASCAR racing used to be about who had the biggest balls, now its about who has the most money, which is why johnson does so good, johnson has better cars, for example; jr. has a crapy car and can't win, johnson's car is built by the same company or team, but jr.'s car always breaks down and johnsons car does'nt

  • @flubber342 How does jr have a crappy car?? He races for Hendrick motorsports and is Jimmie johnsons teammate, dipshit. Are you hinting at Hendrick sabotaging Jr's cars? Because that would be really stupid of you. Jr is overrated thats the bottom line its not because Hendrick motorpsorts provides him faulty chassis and motors.

  • @jraybay actualy i am hinting that hendrick sabatoges jr's car,

  • @flubber342 LoL I cant even take you seriously .

  • @jraybay can't take me seriously but you know its true

  • @flubber342 No its not and you're stupid for even thinking that. JR is disgustingly overrated thats the truth.

  • @jraybay all i'm sayin is, racin used to be good, and ever since JR. stoped winnin races and Johnson has been winnin championships, I have been losing interest in NASCAR, so thats my biased opinion, GET THE FUCK USED TO IT!

  • @flubber342 wtf Get a grip dude. Junior stopped winning races in 2004 its nothing new, ever since 2004 he has won no more than one race per season and his last victory was michigan 2008 when he made a fuel gamble and had a caution for one car spinning... Your biased opinion is stupid and Jr's success or lack thereof, has nothing to do with Jimmie johnson or Rick Hendrick cutting him short of competitive cars... Some of you Jr fans are ridiculous, seriously.

  • @jraybay I never said i was a jr. fan, I'm not a fan of anyone in nascar, I just like the racin

  • Kurt Busch, the Blue Douche.

  • @azis1100

Kurt's not a douche. You thinking of Kyle Busch? He's the douch.

  • Good race!!

  • why cant we have exciting finishes like these anymore??? oh yeah stupid rules and new cot cars every year!!!

  • I watched it live, 7 years ago.

I still can't believe Ricky won it! Even as I'm looking at it now, in 2010.

At the time, I was hoping the 97 Roush Ford and the 32 PPI Pontiac would take each other out and let Blaney in the 77 Jasper Ford, win.

  • the guy was about to ask have you ever had sex? but the other guy didn't let him finish and said no i have never.

  • The best race I've ever seen. Kurt Busch has become such a great driver and mature one. He took it well today when Jimmy Johnson decided to run through him at 180 mph on the straightaway.

  • @jthornton17 It's called bump drafting, and others had been doing it all day. I guess Kurt doesn't know how to keep his car straight.

  • @tiptizzle79 Your obviously stupid, because if you knew what bump drafting is, you don't do it by hitting a guy in the far left corner. You square your car up and push. You can check out videos of how it's done. That's not how it's done. Go try it on the freeway and comeback and tell me how it works out.

  • @jthornton17 I guess Jimmy Johnson is a bad driver. Oh wait, he won the last 5 Sprint Cup series trophies.

  • No doubt some of the best racing of the 2000's went on right there in those final laps.

  • I watched this race in a laundromat in Oakland CA. Pretty sure I was the only English speaker in the place. By the last five laps everyone was watching this race. By the last lap people were cheering in Spanish and Vietnamese. I drove a Grand Prix at the time, so it was my favorite make in the series. Great moment with a diverse bunch of temporary race fans!

  • this is why NASCAR SUCKS NOW because drivers don't fight for the finish like they did back then this is truly the best race in history besides all the Talladega race that jeff gordon did'nt win

  • DW's laugh is priceless.

  • thats what make's racing fun! this is why i give kurt credit! kyle's just a fucking pussy ass kid! kurt is THE SHIT!

  • Goosebumps anyone?

  • lol, they "Tide"

  • You can definitely see Busch slam Craven at that last turn.

  • i saw this live. They said Kurt had power steering failure. Ricky was way faster and deserved it.

  • That was the best finish ever. DW had it wrong. He said Craven shot up into him, that did not happen. I have seen a view with the cars coming straight at you and you can see that Busch comes down the track and slams into Craven not the other way around.

  • closest race I've ever seen

  • I was at this race! Ricky Cravens crew member gave me a lug nut off his car! I still got it.

  • Awesome

  • Without a doubt the best finish ever.

  • Pretty cool to see Cravens car from this race in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

  • 3:00

  • Yup. This was NASCAR.

  • Damn i miss this...This is real NASCAR

  • Seriously man those days were awesome. We'll never see anything like it ever again. I remember watching that race live. It was the most exciting finish i'll ever see

  • @therodxxx69 we might this year the spoliers are back and all three major series are going to darlington this year

  • I remember watching this, back when NASCAR was NASCAR.

  • what happend to it now?

  • Best finish in Winston Cup.....period. I remember watchin this race and knowing a finish that close would never be seen again. Now they got the COT shit, and "no bump drafting" bullshit in effect at tracks like Talladega.....NASCAR used to be good, but now it's all about Hendrick....they should just call it the "Watch Hendrick Win With Jimmie Johnson" Series.....give me a damn break. I'd rathe watch ALMS than this shit.

  • @Nitehawk770 its not the best finish in the winston cup, its the best and closest finish in nascar history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Nitehawk770

Ironic that you posted that comment a year ago, and 48 just won again lol

  • @Nitehawk770 Its not Jimmies fault, everyone else should step their game up. ALMS is better anyway watch that.

  • @Nitehawk770 except of course we had one that had the exact same margin of winning this year at Talladega this year.

  • @Nitehawk770, see 2011 aaron's 499 tied for the closest finish since the advent of electronic scoring, so it kind of contradicts what you say. Don't say never.

  • @Nitehawk770 Yeah but they are getting rid of the COT cars in 2013 and they allowed bumping again. Jimmi is a good driver like it or not. This happens in every motor sport. Michael Schumacher in F1, Sebastian Loab in WRC, and I think we'll see a lot more championships from Sebastian Vettel.

  • @Nitehawk770 Man it was great. Thank God for guys who would race hard like Kurt Busch and Ricky Craven. This is when Nascar was great. Now you have guys who are champs like Jimmy Johnson who cries like a baby if you make contact with the side of his car. Atleast i've got youtube to enjoy racing the way it should be.

  • @jthornton17 i know.....i watched Pocono, and there's no goddamn WAY anyone can say Jimmie "accidentally" turned into Kurt Busch, that shit was intentional, and Jimmie has to cover his ass for getting caught driving like an asshole plain as day.......Kurt should have shoved him into the wall.

  • @Nitehawk770 Talladega 2011:

    0.002

    Darlington 2003:

    0.002

  • @cpcomedy314 Yeah, but that Darlington race doesn't make you want to fall asleep like the race at Dega did.

  • I think still to this day that is the closest electronically scored finish

  • I agree tired of Hendrick

  • I remember this race....NASCAR ust to be exciting but its really got boaring......I know NASCAR is trying but to me there strikeing out BIG TIME...........I'll be back but not untill the raceing is more competive across the board. Its no fun when 1 team is dominating.Guess who im talkin about ??

  • let me bring up two names.. richard petty and dale earnheadt sir

same thing just now the name is jimmie johnson

  • @acrock21 not even close

  • @BrickGrease i suppose thats why hes won 4 in a row and it will be 5 and should of been 6

  • I still get chills everytime I see this

  • Craven's other win in Marttinsville was kind of like this, battled with Jarrett the last

couple laps.Thought he was a good driver

    but just vanished from Nascar.

  • He was a really good driver ... a former Winston Cup rookie of the year.

After his big wrecks (first the Kodiak car at Talladega and then the Bud car for Hendrick) his career was largely one of being stuck behind the wheel of inferior equipment. But for a few years, these Cal Wells cars were relatively consistent and, on the old-school tracks particularly, pretty darned competitive.

Give Ricky Craven a good car that didn't break and he'd usually keep it in the hunt all day.

  • Saw him in Dover run the high line almost

up against the wall all race long, but came out of 2 and 4 like a rocket,no one could pass, looked like a sure win,and then got

    hit on pit road,damaged,ended up 8th i think.That sucked!!!

  • # 97 crew is madd lol

  • wow what an amazing finish!

  • Have you ever

    NO IVE NEVER

  • This is def #1 for me..#2 has to be 29 vs 24 at Atlanta not only for the finish but also the things that took place only weeks earlier...#3 is edwards/johnson at Atlanta.. #4 Daytona.. 5 vs 26... 5 Gordon Johnson Matinsville Boss vs Driver.. HENDRICK RULEZ 24 then 5 48 and 88

  • this was the most exciting finish i've ever seen in my life.....its my #1 fav finish...#2 is '05 altanta edwards/johnson

  • I was at that race. It was my first ever and I just randomly chose Craven to root for. It was a great time.

  • Craven over Busch @ the Lady in Black. Easily the best finish I have ever seen in Nascar. Runners up-

Carl Edwards over Jimmie Johnson for his first career win (Atlanta)

Kevin Harvick over Jeff Gordon for his first career win (Atlanta)

Ryan Newman over Tony Stewart in New Hampshire (2005)[**homer pick]

  • i remember watching this race, i was a new fan to nascar, but this was one of the moments that got me hooked. i never miss a sunday now!!

  • Why do you watch this VIDEO!!?!?!

  • ok dude relax. If you dont like it at all, then dont watch videos about it and comment on it. We can care less if you dont like nascar.

  • If i wouldnt have seen this live on tv as a 15 year old kid, it wouldnt be my favorite finish ever.

  • what would be?

  • they should add another darlington race back and get rid of california

  • You're so ignorant, no one expect you to understand the skills needed to drive that fast, and race that close to someone...and survive at a place like Darlington. Why don't you go troll a tuner video? Your IQ is obviously that of a twelve year old.

  • ya and making your car slide is a real sport??? You dont know how much in shape you have to be in order to race in the sprint cup. Shit, drivers lose 10+ lbs every race because its so fuckin hot and you're really working to manuever your car. Its not about driving in circles. Its about much more than that. BUT people who have part of their brain undeveloped such as yourself, dont understand certain aspects about certain things.

  • lol, i love it when ppl talk about something that they dont know about. bill elliott, he is a legendary nascar driver if you didnt know, drifts all the time in his spare time. nascar drivers are some of the best in the world. how come road racers from all over the world come to the road course events every year and cant win??? all of them say that the nascar drivers are as good as anyone, dumb fuck. those cars arent made to drift idiot boy.

  • Thats days of thunder kind of shit right there.

  • I agree with all. Best finish EVER! I love Darlington. No other tracks like it. Especially with the new repave job- crazy speeds, narrow corners, makes the drivers really push their cars! LOVE IT!

  • Im sure gonna miss Pontiac

  • Ricky Craven...who would have thought?

  • I got a picture of myself standing next to one of those Tide machines from that year and it always reminds me of this. That was one of if not the best finish in NASCAR history.

  • Best... Finish... EVER

  • Days Of Thunder Remake!

  • This is the greatest finish of all time. It tops all of Dale Sr's finishes. Nothing compares to this.

  • As much as i love the #3 i have to agree, this is the BEST finish in nascar history, dales win @ atlanta is 2nd, and harvick beating gordon @ atlanta in 01 is the 3rd.

  • None of the lame new tracks can do this.

  • if ricky craven drove a chevy, he wudnt a won dat race cas da pontiac nose is stickin out more den da fords, chevys, & dodges

  • i was at this race... greatest time in my whole life... me and my dad sat bout 10 rows from the finish line, it was unbelivable

  • a leafs fan and nascar fan? dude your my new best friend!!!!LOL

  • DUDE are you serious?! ahaha thats so sick... and btw i'm a earnhardt junior's fan too :) well martin is my #1 favourite tho but junior is 2nd!! lol

  • Martin is my favorite, too...we having a GREAT year, huh?

  • heck ya we are! omg i kno he will keep it up!

  • NASCAR was never as good as after this race. I remember watching in a Laundry Mat and the whole place was staring at the TV the last 5 laps. Man I miss PONTIAC in this sport.

  • One of the best ever! Hate Kurt Busch! Bring back the PONTIAC!

  • the greatest race in nascar history

  • have you never no ive never ha ha!!!

  • The best part is after they go into 1 the rubbermaid crew guy is so pissed off.

  • this was my fisrt race i ever watched and ever since then iv been a kurt busch fan...i feel so relieved that he is having a good year so far..this is the race that got me into nascar and every sunday or saturday night im watching the race lol..i even watch nationwide and camping worl series so yepp im a nascar freak

  • i got into NASCR the same way only in a kasey kahne fan and the first race i saw was the 2004 rockingham race.

  • Dang I thought bmh297 missed a lot. You REALLY REALLY missed a lot of amazing Nascar moments. Hell you missed the late great Dale Earnhardt Sr.

  • Wow this is the first race you watched? Man you sure did miss a lot of good ones before this one. I hope you did a history check hahaha.

  • I love when DW forgets he's an announcer: "NAW! NAW! They're drivin GOOD!." Say what you will but I think the fox nascar guys have the best combination of knowledge and entertainment of any sports broadcast team.

  • fail

  • agreed they are terrible announcers

  • I've got a tape of this at the house. And I've watched it so many times, I'm afraid I'm going to wear it out.

    Darn I love this race.

  • I was stationed at Ft Jackson,SC back in 2003 and attended this race. I had to yell in the guys ear beside me with the headset on to tell me, "WHO WON" ?

  • I was on my way home from a weekend trip to Kansas (not my choice to go) when this race happened. Man was a kicking myself when I saw the replays that night.

  • it was the pontiac model giving him a longer nose.

    wow

  • all the cars are the same size. It just looks longer.

  • That was some amazing driving by Ricky Craven. Great finish! 5 stars

  • im on cam and bored

    i liked this video :) z5

  • i remember this race this is what nascar needs to bring back the cots dont give the action packed excitement that these gave. i remember just jumping out of my couch. this finish was great

  • bring back these cars , COTs are boring and they look stupid

  • I agree all the way with you dude, the stock cars look cooler, I think they're faster, more fun, handle better, everything about them is awesome.

  • KB fans are true idiots. They are without a doubt the dumbest NASCAR fans I have ever known to be in NASCAR. Pulling for any driver in any race ever ran.

  • I hate how people root for Kurt Busch.

  • i hate how DW is rooting for craven

  • I was in the stands that day on turn two.I left with 20 laps to go,to beat the traffic. From where I was I couldn't see the start /finish line anyway.

  • Damn power steering. I remember watching this live with a buddy who had never watched a race and after that he became a fan.

  • I'm biased, but I still think this is arguably the best finish in NASCAR history. And I love the exchange between Mike Joy and Darrell Waltrip right after the finish: (Joy) "Have you ever? ..." (Waltrip) "No, I've never!" ... Absolute classic. ... And, sadly, the races just aren't the same anymore. I miss the drivers of just a few years ago, and I really dislike the "Car of Tomorrow" template.

  • I remember that race, it was then and I think will forever be one of the most if not the most exciting finishes ever in racing history. Still gives me goose bumps!!!

  • best race i have ever watch...now they all suck

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam closest finish ever, love the way he works the inside both very good drivers.

  • you dont see that in F1 or open AND definitly DONT see that much excitment in any other sport!!!!!!

NASCAR- but im very mad aboutt the chase, NASCAR was better before

  • i was pulling for Ricky so hard and that finish was amazing...best in the history of NASCAR!!!

  • i think i remember this, thats was good

  • Amazing.

I still like bobby labontes and Dales better thou

    =D

  • reminds me of the last race scene in Days of Thunder.

  • i was screaming on my couch, this was the best finish ever

  • This race made me love Craven, saw it live on TV =)

  • Ricky Craven is with Yahoo Sports.

  • I saw this race on t.v. I was goin' nuts over this. What a finish. I don't think anyone expected his win 2 b the last cup win for Pontiac or his career. What happened 2 Craven?

  • This the number 1 finish, to me, at NASCAR history.

  • You'll never see that in Formula 1 or any other open wheel racing. NASCAR is exciting.

  • This was an AMAZING finish..probably the best i've ever seen. And being from Maine and having met Ricky many times, it was great to see him get the win that way.

  • I've got this on tape, and it's one of my favorites.

  • this is why NASCAR RULES!!!

  • Makes me smile every time I see this.

  • 0.002 of a margin favorite finish of all

  • It's a shame the quality is junk... You could probably get better off a 56k modem!

  • One of NASCARS Golden Moments.

  • Was at this race, that was back when I liked Nascar (Nascar's just not about racing anymore), it was awesome to be there. I know a lot of people hate DW, and "boogity boogity boogity" is retarded, but to be honest I'd rather listen to him announce, just because on a close finish he actually gets excited! Gotta love that at least.

  • a great finish for Nascar, even an Indy fan would agree!

  • I wish he would race here in NH at least one more time

  • best finish ever

  • i miss craven.

  • That's like Busch and McMurray in 2007. But why couldnt TNT say the winner at the line?

  • @RunerRacerPeniguin5 Because it was so close, they couldn't tell at first.

  • Have you ever? No i've never!!! lol

  • craven was my fav great finish

  • they should race more like this haha

  • if youre gonna reference a great f1 finish try Villenueve and Arnóux at france in 79

  • This wasn't that long ago, but being a fairly young NASCAR fan, these were the good old days.

  • The Dale Earnhardt days were the good ole' days
