It's such a shame, over here in UK, we don't have as much art's and crafts resources since most people are not fans of scrapbooking, personally it's there loss, I love it and try to manage with the tools I have D:

I bought a mixed set of small paints of acrylic and tried to paint a metal brad. It surely painted it, but it came out dry & dull. The brush the kit came with was rough and made streek marks on the color... so I got 2 new brushes that I figure would help. Is a foam brush better? Or is the paint I bought not good?

why dont you just use som sandpaper to get the surface on the metal brad a bit full of holes, then the color maybe not dissapear that easy

it was not disappearing, it was just not as shiny as I expected.

I always wanted to know if acrylic paint is archival quality? This video doesn't really say weather it is or not.

yes it is . It is basically a resin.  to be safe avoid direct contact with photo as cheap acrylic paints will have fillers in it.
