  • You know who also likes Tax Cuts? The corporate elite and their companies. They also hate the government the most. Just look at Wisconsin. Good bye decent wages. Once we bankrupt the system all college grads will work for $10 an hour.

  • Get and meet be naughty female benaughtyman.info

  • Show me your economics degree & I will show you Obama's birth certificate.

btw, nice video editing. I'm sure this took your GOP staff a few days to produce. Nice try, your GOP-funded anti-Democrat operation has been outed. LOL

    ! FAIL !

  • Ah, Michelle, you have too much common sense to be in politics.

If you query good people and they're being honest and speaking plain common sense (like in this vid) you find they don't agree so much with the folks they voted for.

  • the income tax is to guarantee that the government can pay back it's debt back to the fed. what they should do is to tax the rich big time, get the rich to pay off the debt. during war time they ask people to give their lives for their country i think in this situation it's not too much to ask the rich to stick their hands into their pockets for their country. do that and the problem will be sorted over night.

  • @preytec Why should the rich be forced to pay for murder you approve of? your a psychopath.

  • @ekeyra take your reply and then read my comment. are you sure you want that to reply to my comment? maybe your thinking of a different comment. wait till you come down from whatever drugs your on before you reply to me. thank you. have a good day

  • @preytec I meant every word i said. The government goes into debt to finance its adventures in slaughtering brown people across the globe who could never pose a threat to us, and you want people who have threatened and harmed noone to foot the bill for it. You are a psychopath

  • @ekeyra ok listen up kid. the government went to war with the wishes of the private sector, if you think back (implied you can think) there were protests all around the world protesting the war. the governments were not carrying out the will of the people. they were carrying out the will of the private sector. they used the armies for their own gain. they asked soldiers to die so they could make money. now that they have made their money and left the government to foot the bill. tbc..

  • @preytec i think it would only be fair from them to hand over some money to help the governments payback the loans the same way they allowed people to lay down their lifes so they could make their money.

as for you calling me a psychopath, who do you think you are, that you can fail to understand a post and go around calling people psychopath's. you are dumb, but i have some words of wisdom that might help you. YOU CAN'T TEACH STUPID. goodbye you dope

  • @preytec Anyone not employed by the government is by definition the "private sector". So when you say the government was not carrying out the will of the people but the will of the "private sector" that makes absolutely no sense at all. It is the same group of people. You have no idea what your are dicussing.

  • @ekeyra YOU CAN'T TEACH STUPID

  • @preytec obviously

  • @preytec No, taxing the rich do death will only encourage the poor+middle class to be even WORSE in handling money.

I have a solution... cut all govt spending across the BOARD by 15%. Use that money to pay down the national debt. Also pass a balance budget amendment, so that the Fed govt cannot budget more than it makes. That will stop overspending.

The ENTIRE national debt (now $13 Trillion) could be paid down in 8 years. Would the U.S. drop dead in 8 years? HARDLY

Who has the balls to do this?

  • @TheSoulOfColorado yeah that sounds good, but from your point of view it was the poor+middle class that made this ression. they did jump at the chance to get "free money" aka loans but it was the upper class that was given it away.

as for a "a balance budget" they have passed them but the problem is keeping to them. and they don't for one reason or another.

what they need to do anyway, is to get working. stop money from leaving and start bringing it in. stop sending work overseas.

  • When I was making $ 20,000 a year and getting almost all my tax money back at the end of the year, I was giving to Union Rescue Mission, Red Cross, then I became self employed and making $ 80,000 a year, got taxed to death, now I cant even pay my own bills. WTF?

  • We could have saved $1,000,000,000,000 dollars by not giving the rich tax cuts for the last 8 years.

    You people are fools.

  • Dropping the income tax in 1 shot would cause major inflation and any growth would meet a NASTY slowdown (recession) when the tax kicked back in. It needs to be permanent and done slowly.

People may scoff at a permanent income tax repeal, but almost all of the money they spend comes from other taxes besides income tax.

  • Never going to happen America... this is what we have become. AMERICA WAKE UP! GET MAD!

  • Why were Friedman's ideas never taken up?

Its not like there's no empirical evidence to support them.

China took them up and now they're the biggest creditor nation in the world, while the US got all into Keynes and have dropped from No.1 creditor to no.1 debtor.

It's ok to have a deficit if you're a little sattelite like my country, but the US is a major power with ideals which the rest of us try to emulate. We know that the way they're behaving is a deviation from them so we forgive you ;)

  • While you have a great idea for a temporary stimulus that is much better than the government spending our grandchildren's money plan, I much prefer a permanent stimulus plan on tax rates so that the taxes aren't scheduled to go back up next year or ever in the future. This is a stimulus plan that would allow businesses and investors to immediately plan on so that they could begin to climb the success ladder. Currently, we are relying too much on government to bail us all out.

  • What does he say from 1:41 to 1:46? I really can't figure it out.

  • The government does not give up power or money. Taxes are about control, not revenue.

  • "The government does not give up power or money. Taxes are about control, not revenue."

FAIR TAX, it would provide taxes while shifting the power and much of the revenue back to the people and specially the hurting small businesses that can't compete with the punitive government taxes.

  • "Free To Choose" Milton Friedman baby!

Now search Milton Friedman Free To Choose on YT.

It sounds better coming from a sexy woman but the history is with MF.

  • Read it, it's brilliant. I loved his explanation of the banking industry, the Federal Reserve, and the 1st Great Depression.

Read Hayek's "Road to Serfdom" you won't be disappointed.

  • The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of

'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day

America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. ~ Norman Thomas

He who will not reason,is a bigot; he who cannot is a fool; and he who dares not,is a slave. ~Sir William Drummond

Capitalists can exploit you only with your permission: by trading with you, selling to you, asking you to sell out.

  • Beautiful and intelligent.

    Nice to "meet" you Michelle

  • I love you!!! :D

  • Happy Tax Day. There was no income tax in the United States of America until 1913. This great nation made it just fine for 150 years without an income tax. Call it what it is, a wealth distribution vehicle. Oh, but you did get a $13 a pay income tax cut this year from the Central Planners. So why complain.

  • Comment removed

  • Your plan is a great idea if the purpose of the "stimulus" was to improve the economy and the lives of Americans. However,we all know that the spending is for political payoffs and increased federal power over our lives.

  • Nice Libertarian Idea

What about Marxism Programs like the Police Force, Fire Department, and local roadways?

Think it's hard fighting City Hall?

Try a Multi-Billion Dollar Corporation with enough lawyers, offshore accounts, and lobbying money to keep Congress at bay with legislation favoring their interests against ours.

    OR

Want to do something about taxes:

Roll back the Reagan Tax Cuts to finally have the upper 2% pay the same rate of taxes we are already down in the lower 98%.

  • Uhh, well, by imposing licensing fees and permits and outrageous hoops to jump through for start-up companies, as well as very few penalties on outsourcing jobs overseas, a few people DID destroy the free market system we came close to having in the US. Doesn't matter much though, because every dollar that is printed by the Fed Reserve (owned by the Bank of England) has immediate interest payment attatched to it. We got tricked into using debt as currency. Failure is built in. Dare you to learn!

  • michelle- fantastic, the banks are certainly not lending, get the money in the people's hands, maybe i'll buy a gmc car, or better yet maybe make my mortgage payment, nah, i'll let the govt. do that.

  • This was an idea floated by Ace from Ace of Spades HQ a month before this "Economist" started to talk about "Her Idea".

    Fucking plagiarist.

  • Comment removed

  • DantesDump,

NOW can't you watch your language.

Hey if you think even this "Ace" individual thought this idea up as well, you'd better think again.

Have you ever read the late Milton Friedman? He is a very well known Economist and Michelle and others like myself are just building Grassroots movements to educate people that there is MORE than a Government Choice in spending our own MONEY.

Maybe you should pay attention. NO One OWNS ideas. But they can be debated.

  • We are just sheep in this grand illusion. Wake up sheeple.

  • I... LOVE you! The payroll tax vacation is EXACTLY what is needed to fix this economy. I've been saying it for weeks. I can't believe it! A beautiful fiscal libertarian! You're not single, by any chance?

  • "why not just let the American people spend their own money?"

Because they'll only spend it on cheap imports from China! :-D

You need to make investments in productivity gains.

  • Great video!

  • Who the hell is going to pay for SSN and Medicare? Pathetic phony trying to win people over by her Libertarian talk. This is what got us into this mess, 40 years of Republican rule with a Corporate Democrat, Clinton. How about eliminating all taxes for people making $250,000 and less and adjusting the variance by increasing it on the guys making more than $250k. Tax Bill O' the Clown and Rush Limbaugh and morons who peddle rot gut Friedmanomic policies pegged around Free Markets and Deregulation

  • lol haha ... it is not my duty to pay a program that 1. does not work 2. has already been bankrupt by the people and claiming they want to fix it.

Yes you are correct that the clowns on television Bill O, Rush, etc have no idea what the hell they are talking about

They do such injustice to capitalism and the free market system ... but saying this won't convince you of anything

  • Mavasonic,

ARE you a product of PUBLIC Education? You'll note your own errors in history as well as maybe you should read Thomas Sowell. He's one of those highly intelligent African American Economists that President Obama likes to "Ignore". Or at least not talk about...

  • Hi all, for those disturbed with the waste of the Stimulus bill and its socialist implications, then do a youtube or google search for Tax day tea party protests.

The Cincinnati Tea Party (do a youtube search) has already occurred and had literally 5-6 thousand people protesting the FED, the stimulus plan and the squandering of their childrens future.

  • Great job Michelle!

  • Government interference in the free interactions of people(the market) is ALWAYS an attempt to cheat reality. Insane and childish. It's a game of let's pretend. Let's pretend that everyone has earned and can afford a house. Let's pretend that everyone is equally credit worthy. Let's take money from some people and give it to others so we all can pretend that they are prosperous.

You can fool reality only for so long. Then it all comes crashing down. Reality always wins. Game Over.

  • Google "Money as Debt" then after that search for "Nixon Bretton Woods" on You Tube and Google Image search Series 1914 Federal Reserve Note and read the fine print on the bill.

  • In 1962 my father earned $80 dollars a week working for the Edison Company. His takehome pay was $73 and change. Back then, the worker was allowed to keep a much larger percentage of his pay. And no way did my mother have to work.

  • Even if I was a democrat I'd do whatever Michelle asked.

  • Bush did something like that a few years ago, and it's pretty clear it didn't work. How about we (people are the government, it's not a bunch of aliens or a foreign country) save that money and reduce the size of our legislative and executive bodies.

  • mistamustard,

Actually, what Bush did was hand people a minor rebate and his tax cuts have worked.

What people did with it was up to them.

The current problems in the economy is a result of BAD Public Policies related to the Community Re-Investment Act from 1977.

As the Internet boom crashed, money went into Housing. This market too has now crashed.

The Economy will always have ups and downs. NO ONE including the President can control the actions and choices of Millions of individuals.

  • This was Ace of Spades' idea before it was yours. He was writing, suggesting a tax repeal months ago.

  • She doesn't need a PhD in economics to understand, but she should have an advanced degree to claim the title of economist. Otherwise what's to stop someone with a degree in biology from claiming to be a doctor? It pollutes the brand. And the idea isn't new, it's called a tax holiday and was floated by several Republicans last year and yearly this year.

  • Tax holidays are not very effective. The best approach is to copy JFK and Reagan and cut tax rates across the board. But the video's narrator does a very good job of showing that money is better left in the productive sector of the economy. If we could get most PhDs to understand that basic point, I'd be overjoyed.

  • She's very beautiful, but that's not the point. Her message is very solid. For the amount of money the politicians spent on the stimulus, the payroll tax could have been ended for a year. Moreover, you don't need a Ph.D. to understand economics. Indeed, a lot of Ph.D.s helped to get us in the mess we currently face.

  • Mother of God, this woman is insanely gorgeous.

  • The Congressmen and Senators should stop getting a paycheck, no perks, health insurance, fancy benefits and travel expenses and eliminate their retirement benefits until the Federal Government was out of debt. AND not be able to take any more than $100 from any campaign contributor. I wonder how long it would take them to eliminate pork spending, bring our troops home, bring jobs back from overseas, etc.

  • They get an automatic pay raise this month.

  • I think it is interesting that Obama won. Now the whole country will see that neither the neo-conservative "Republicans" OR the Democrats have the answer. Constitutional commonsense is the way to go - limit the power of the Federal Government and the Federal Reserve (which is a private bank, for those who don't know), give the power back to the people and the States. If a mistake is made on the Federal level, it affects the whole world. On a State level - only the state is generally affected.

  • Not saying you dont have good point but wouldnt just letting workers keep some money only work temporarily i dont think just giving people money creates jobs which is what people want.

  • Notice how the word "Pelosi" has become the NEW pavlovian HATE TRIGGER.. its funny how easy it is to brainwash these uneducated right wing cynics. in this recession, it is profitable to become the new RUSH LIMBAUGH to make money out of the shitload of poor uneducated bushnecks.

  • notice how the words "rush limbaugh" are a tired old pavlovian hate trigger that refuse to die

  • AWESOME video - looking forward to the next one :)

    -shelly

  • hey he's giving you $18 back a month

    what more do you want?

  • this is awesome

  • Thanks Michelle for the new angle and perspective. I'll be sure to tell all my fellow co-workers about this. $2,000 is a lot more than the measly $600 we received in stimulus last year and it is in our hands not the despicable governments.

  • Yeah, but if I get my money back, I'm just going to blow it on DVDs and shoes. Maybe I'd put a tiny chunk in my student loans. If I could get back enough to open a small business or finance a school or repair a bridge, I think that'd be a great idea. Who's going to do that, though? We pay taxes for a reason. Of course, this is going to be a popular idea. But the majority of America doesn't always know best. Most of us are none too bright. Most of us would blow our money on crap.

  • Maybe that's what you will do. Some of us will pay down debt and yes, others will spend it on things like that. Either way it doesn't matter. even if you "blow it" on dvd's and shoes that still creates jobs. People have to make, ship, and sell those things. It also creates tax money for state and local governments through, you guessed it, sales tax. So tell me again, what is wrong with keeping more of your money?

  • This woman is absolutely correct!!

  • good plan. most of the tax cuts in the bill are for the payroll tax already. and you diddn't speak with any elderly people (you know the ones who fought WWII?) the payroll tax pays for their social security (they don't have income, they don't pay payroll tax)

  • Isn't it funny how when conservitive ideas thrown out for people to consider are great ideas so long as it is not tied to the republican party. We need to go to a no party system in this country so that each individual has to run in ideas on not on the letter behind his name.

  • People think it's a great idea until they think about it for more than two minutes. People think it's a great idea, because it's what they want to hear, but that doesn't make it right. Party affiliation has nothing to do with it.

  • Did not our gov't decide to give it to them?

  • 3oo,ooo mil in "green" golf carts...thanks you stupid freaking obama people!! this is what YOU voted for...I say people who voted for obama ...pay up!!

  • "I support my nigger regardless if i be broke". Now that my friend is a comment from a true educated obama supporter,

  • lol

  • lol to you. This crap is sicking. Wish you the best.

  • The truth is that democrat party is made up of the low IQ bottom and the high money top that loves keeping the tax curve steep making their wealth more like having a small monarchy rather than just being rich. Oh well. There is really no explaining this to anyone that does not already know it.

  • well, the last election actually proved this out. Obama won among the below 50K and the above 250K (ironically). He lost the famed "middle class". Also, another study i saw said that people with wealth between 1M and 10M gave to McCain, but those with wealth +10M gave overwhelmingly to Obama.

  • That's rich. No, really. It's interesting, especially considering the 2008 CNN exit polls. 58% of the people polled who held a postgraduate degree voted for Obama. 58% of the white people polled who said they did not go to college voted for McCain. The people who made less than $50K voted for Obama 60% of the time. But in brackets higher than that, including over $100K, they split. 49% to 49%.

  • America, you just got punkd by Obama!

  • Refinance the $10 Trillion dollar national debt at the Fed's current going rate of 0.25%. We would effectively cut the federal budget nearly in half. Pass the savings onto taxpayers or job creation programs or national single-payer health insurance.

  • Wait a second...this is bulls*. Tax cuts tax cuts tax cuts what the hell...I'm sorry but freeloading capitalism is DONE. Your ideology is awesome but reality is bitter, I'm sorry. Tax me more please...Otherwise I'll just spend my extra money on beer. If we continue this consumer-forced economy we'll either drink the ocean dry or get so far in debt that inflation will rival Zimbabwe. ICK! GAH! BLECHT! I'm going to have nightmares about "tax cut" zombies. In short: Stupid bitch.

  • "Tax me more please...Otherwise I'll just spend [it] on beer." Uh huh. Tell me, fudge, how much did you OVERPAY in tax last year? Are you like Buffett, Gates Sr., Clinton, and those other multi-mil-to-billionaires who say "Tax me more, I don't need all this money!" while taking advantage of every possible tax break the IRS provides (and in the cases of Geithner, Rangel and Daschle, some that it doesn't)?

You say "capitalism is DONE"... do you think it's good that a socialist is POTUS?

  • Yeah, POTUS is the Socialist when he's the one against nationalizing the banks. Meanwhile guys like Lindsey Graham are saying they should consider it. I think you need to look up the word Socialism. I do not think it means what you think it means.

  • I don't care what Lindsey Graham thinks. Graham isn't President. Graham isn't on record going back to 2001 saying that it's a shame the Constitution says nothing about redistribution of wealth, but that it could be accomplished legislatively. Graham didn't begin his political career by hanging with revolutionary socialists who bombed the Capitol & the Pentagon and who are unrepentant over 30 years later.

Barack Obama is a socialist. Even Newsweek mag admits it -- now that he's in office.

  • Barack Obama said that he didn't think he nationalizing the banks would work in this country. That was my point. The Republicans are thinking about it, while they're calling Obama a socialist. Again, I don't think you understand what "socialist" means. It doesn't equal terrorist.

    Barack Obama isn't a socialist.

And you, clearly, have been to a few too many Sarah Palin rallies.

  • Exactly! That's what I'm saying. They're all so lulled by the pretty lady wanting to give them more money, they can't think about what's actually going to work.

  • What has Obama said to convince YOU that it will work? He hasn't shown that even he knows how it will work. He's handed off detailed questions to Tiny Tim "Turbo Tax" Geithner, who gave a speech to say that he would get back to us in a few weeks to tell us how it would work. How reassuring...NOT.

Obama promised we would all have 5 days to inspect any bill before he would sign it. He said we would be able to find out who put what in the bill. He promised transparency.

    HE LIED.

  • History tells us that the stimulus bill is the most likely thing that will work. This is the closest thing to the New Deal and if you look at the empirical evidence, that worked. Of course, there's a whole host of Reaganites who would beg to differ, but look what Reagan's economic policies got us.

All I know is that I want to see something done instead of seeing politicians bitch at each other endlessly.

I know giving us back our tax money won't work, for sure. We're too stupid for that.

  • Actually if you look at the raw data... the New Deal just prolonged the recession... it created many government entities that suck tax dollars away from those who work hard to give to those who do not.

On top of that it created the biggest ponzi scheme of all time... SOCIAL SECURITY. Yet do we penalize our politicians? Of course not... we need to punish those who have made this country what it is.

  • speak for yourself when you call yourself stupid. After all only half of the American Population voted for this idiot.

but hey if you want to be like venezuela, russia, cuba, north korea or even the UK go ahead... lets see how long it lasts before there is a revolution.

  • what- History tells us? When did it ever work? New deal? NO Japan? NO Socialism NEVER works, you may be too stupid to spend your tax money but WE are not! What you just posted was soicalist, just like obama but you are too stupid to understand it.

  • SOLID!

  • If the government abolished the federal income tax TODAY, Washington would still be able to operate on a budget equal to 2001 levels.

    Btw, you are stunning, Rebeleconomist!

  • i agree with this vid. the stimulus plan has too much extra stuff not needed. obama is all talk, NO SHOW.

  • Great vid, rebel. 5 *****

  • See why it keeps getting worse, who really runs the country, and the dicatatorship they are driving us into. Watch "End Game" in my playlist.

  • Forgetsalot, I believe this may have been one of the things you forgot. This Stimulus package will cost nearly a TRILLION dollars. A lot of the money will be given to things that won't even affect the economy. What will affect the economy won't reach it until 2012. How could you honestly believe this will cut any tax, when they are spending this much money? WE the people pay for this through taxes. If the government spends this much money, it comes right out of our paychecks.

  • Michelle for president NOW!!!

We need to replace everyone who votes for the stimulus bill including the idiot signing it.

  • Ron Paul would have done everything he could to get rid of the income tax. Oh well, you get what you wanted America.

  • OBAMA CAN SUCK MY DICK

..he didnt fool me like he fooled yall

CFR shitface. were coming for you bud.

  • Wow, how about that! If you package the message with coolness, beauty, and minorities, you can get people to accept the basic logic that fiscal conservatives have known for YEARS!

Welcome to reality people! It took you a while, but at least you made it!

  • I don't think the woman in this video did much research on the bill as it already includes payroll tax reductions for individuals and couples at least. This video implies that payroll taxes aren't being touched and I could see people, who aren't aware, coming away from this believing that the stimulus is going to raise our taxes. This clip is disingenuous at the very least.

  • What people can't spend their money better than the government could? I don't care for BO, but it would have been nice for him to keept he promise of not just letting us see what is in the bill, but HIS OWN CONGRESS!!!!

This is insanity, this is a nightmare!

  • menana2u, Obama said he would post "non-emergency" legislation to his site for 5 days so people can comment before he signs. There is absolutely no way, in any universe or dimension, that this bill could be viewed as "non-emergency". He hasn't broken a promise.

Besides, would you read all 1,400 pages if it were posted?

  • forgetsalot, there were 2 prev bills that he didn't do as promised. One was the equal wages for women, & one other. I can't remember.I am resembling your name at the moment. lol This may be an emerg, but he is the not only disingen, but lying. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. The public should have been able to read, but it should have been made avail. for Congress! They made it imposs and on purpose, to slip their BS projects in, AND yes, I would have read all, no matter how long!

  • This entire stimulus package is to give their buddies more money, its not about improving the economy.

What is going to happen to all these jobs this stimulus is going to make when the money runs out - guess then we will need another stimulus.

Better hope China is willing to foot the bill since the states is broke.

  • When the money runs out, those jobs that were created are supposed to make a situation where the government doesn't need to pump more money into the system to keep the jobs going.

Think of it like an engine. You need raw power to get it going but once it's going it just starts recycling the power it's using to keep you moving.

  • Since when did government get the intelligence to do that? Job creation is based in the private sector, more government just crushes innovation in my opinion.

There is too much pork in this stimulus (and the job creation is based on construction / infrastructure - the green initiative has merit, but is going to take years to bear fruit - years the world does not have)

  • I would like to see Michelle at a table with Gerald Celente and Peter Schiff. She could learn about how screwed we are, and they could stare ....

  • I'm not familiar with Celente, but Schiff is one of the few economists who can say with all sincerity that he predicted the current state of the economy.

  • The Fed Income tax is nothing more than a slave tax paid to our country's owners, the Federal Reserve. Get it back? It shouldn't have been taken in the first place. 25%-30% of the labor hours Americans work is nothing more than slavery. No - Fed income taxes do not pay for schools, roads, etc. It goes to paying off our artificial debt, which is closer to 55 trillion than 13 trillion. $175k per person. All BS. Americans will never figure out that the root cause of all of this is the Fed.

  • WOW smart and beautiful LADY.

  • Congressman Louie Gohmert from Texas proposed a similar Tax Holiday, H.R. 7309 last fall. I don't know the details, but I think it was only a two month break from Taxes. I like your idea much more, but wanted to let you know that we do have a few conservative minded people in washington.

  • phone number michelle?

  • Its seems like the goverment is trying to put a bandaid on a bullet wound.

  • I like this video. It is very funny and also very entertaining. The girl is very nice and pretty. Is she wondering about the use of taxis in USA?

  • I don't know the original message your responding too, but if you think about it, in some situations, that's the best choice.

  • I don't want my money back... I want them to stop taking it away and wasting it in the first place!

  • Love the way the Libs have added the talking point "if we tried it in the past (tax cuts) and it didn't work then we should try it again". Umm... like how socialism has been a failure at every level yet the libs are leading our country to hyper-socialism.

  • Every time they talk about stimulus packages or pass one especially, the economy tanks... do you think the people know something Washington doesn't? (YES AS USUAL!)

  • Would you like to try a college education?

Own your landlord's house, take the family on vacation?

Eva and her blessed fund can make your dreams come true

Here's all you have to do my friends

Write your name and your dream on a card or a pad or a ticket

Throw it high in the air and should our lady pick it

She will change your way of life for a week or even two

Name me anyone who cares as much as Eva Peron

  • O man, Obama ( with the help of his main stream media friends) is fooling everybody.

  • Interesting how cities with the highest taxes (Run by Democrats) are also in the most economic trouble.

    Dems = Socialism

    Socialism = Failure

  • After running up a huge deficit in San Francisco, Mayor Gavin "Any Twosome" Newsom is running for Governor of California. I guess he thinks RINO Ahnuld's 12 billion dollar gap isn't enough.

  • I think I have a mad crush on this woman.

  • I mean, you know... she's very attractive, and very smart, and I really dig her personality. Amazing smile. And above all, her message. Her message is something everyone need to think real hard about. This "Stimulus" deal being rammed through in full panic overdrive is downright scary. Ok, so it is a crush. But it's ok. I'm a married man. I can have crushes, right? Right. Married men can have that. No big deal. Right?

Anyway, thank you Rebel-E. Keep doing what you're doing.

  • morons. got nothing against obama, but unfortunately his charisma has meant a bunch of idiots, without the slightest clue about anything, are now interested in politics and want to have a say.

  • > but unfortunately his charisma has meant a bunch of idiots, without the slightest clue about anything

Charisma? Ya know I have to think that's only because that's what the media SAID he had. I never got any feeling of charisma from either him OR Clintoon, and they said he had it too.

On the other hand I did get a sense of it from Bush, in spite of their dissing him and portraying him as negatively as possible. I still don't like a lot of what Bush has done though. Too liberal/moderate.

  • UNFORTUNATELY the majority of the 'Bama voters could not correctly identified the party who controlled congress. The may have briefly grasped the point that WE can spend our money more wisely than the politicians - but they soon will revert to the Hope & Change mantra

    Hope & Change + Spend & Waste = Deficit & Inflation

  • it would be nice... but unfortunately people are actually saving the money(proved by the 500 dollar stimulus check).. something the economy cannot afford now. Besides, the American infrastructure is collapsing, therefore the government spending is more than legitimized. It is interesting though, that these right-populist messages are coming up. Where were they when the right was in power all these years?

  • With more people saving that in theory means more money in the banks thus meaning more money to for banks to lend. Is that bad?

Also, how is it bad for people to be paying down their debt? I wish our govt would do more of the same. Our economy was/is based on debt and that is essentially a house of cards ready to topple over. Yes, everyone saving and paying down debt seemingly at once is a shock to that debt based economic system but I think it's necessary.

    Armchair economist POV. ;-)

  • banks already had capital injection and no results|(thanks to henry paulson). And the debt you are talking about.... think the stimulus is too big? Bush increased the deficit by 2.5 trillion in unnecessary tax cuts to the super rich!!! 800 billion stimulus is the least that can be done.

  • Tax cuts don't cause deficits. How can they since it's our money anyways. Govt SPENDING causes deficits.

Also, where is this $800B (over $1T with interest included) going to come from? It's going to be printed/borrowed and the valueof the dollar will get even weaker.

I may just be a armchair economist like most others but these facts seem pretty clear.

  • 800 billion in stimulus in an already 10 trillion deficit (coming from a surplus).. is more than reasonable in this instant.. specially as our productive output will be based on the necessary infrastructure investment done today. Bush had taxcuts in the middle of a war, that is a far more destructive tax since a deficit is a guaranteed future tax hike which will come in an unpredictable way(companies dont like unpredictableness)... this stifles investment in the shorterm...

  • That's a stupid idea. If people didn't give all their money to the government who would pay for foreign abortions and shit?? Remember, you work for the government, the government doesn't work for you idiots.

  • I love you, Obama! I love you! What can I do for you? How can I help you? Help me help you, Obama!

  • Just goes to show you that most people are republicans. They just don't realize it because they know jack shit about politics.

  • If every tax paying American were to keep all of their taxes, then have to write a check to cover each and every pork ridden project brought upon us by our elected officials, NO ONE would pay all their taxes.

Thats why politicians would prefer take it from us long before we ever see it, have the chance to question it, and then the opportunity to hold politicians accountable for spending our money.

  • Is it just a coincidence that tax day (April 15) is on the opposite side of the calendar from election day? Imagine what election results would be if election day were April 16!

  • she just stimulated my package

  • How dare workers demand to reap the full fruits of their labor! All of us should give 100% of our paychecks to the gov't ... then let the gov't refund back to us what the gov't thinks we're worth! (For those who haven't noticed, i'm being sarcastic) Great video!

  • Ur wrong! We should just let people keep all their money and hope people choose to donate to build roads, schools etc

  • So what happens at the end of the year? People buy some shit, blow their money, and we have nothing to show for it as a country. This stimulus has too many tax cuts if you ask me, but at least it will put people to work and get us headed to a more sustainable future.

  • jealous much?

  • Yeah, if you can't argue against what she says, attack her personally. Left-wing strategy #1

  • No. But thanks for asking.

  • This is money earned not printed, so its mine. The 800+ billion is money printed and does little to nothing. Also it is on top of what the Government is going to spend anyway on. It is also more than the defense budget, which Obama wants to cut by 10%. Considering the Defense budget is less than 4.5% of GDP, I consider it a bargain for my freedom, worth more than a welfare check for sure.

  • I find it funny to hear how people describe a world without the income tax. Look at your history book, the US did not have an income tax until 1913.The federal government has many other avenues to collect revenues that don't rely on stealing from hard working people.

  • Awesome idea, and without the added debt to China.

  • That's right, all of us sheep need Nancy Peolsi to spend our money for us. Mother knows best!

Now BACK TO WORK, little lamb! Nancy needs your money! She's got big plans. A trillion dollars worth.
