I am 55 a Brit male and that puts me at 17/18 when cabaret came out - the impact of watching that movie and the scene where Micheal York and Liza's characters look at each other and slowly break a smile, while 'maybe this time is playing' has lasted with me to this day. I had to adjust by position because it sent shivers through me. Liza I just want to send her the biggest hug in the world, she is top in my book and cabaret one of the finest movies ever. X

You have to give credit to the interview of this South Bank Show for how good Liza comes off. His questions are intelligent, different and respectful. He also reveals he's done his homework which is not the same as all interviewers who have questioned Liza.  But this show wins my utmost respect for the fact they uncovered that amazing clip of Liza, age 3 or 4, at a birthday party!
