There's Tai Chi and Chi Kung practiced for health (no combat intentions), Tai Chi for demonstration and competition (which is what the young lady demonstrates, and very well), and Tai Chi Chuan (fist) for combat -- the most difficult and subtle to master. In the genre of China-based Wushu (for competition) Tai Chi, the young lady is highly accomplished.
I agree with Mr Simmspaul point of view, by the way, how many forms of traditional Yang style taiji quan you are mastering ? glad to be of your friend.
look at her feet dragging the ground in order to get a bigger gongjian bu.....it's just modern taiji "dancing"....if she tries this in a fight she's toast.....it's just for show, and judges.....sad....look at her wrists in yun shou.....could they control another person's punch? not likely..., and yes, I am well trained in both modern competition forms, as well as traditional Yang style fist and blades...
Thank you so very much. Love your graceful movements. I just started learning after my retirement. Wish I had learned Tai Chi Chuan in my younger days.
