@MISTAX8 THE SECOND GENERATION IS THE BEST OF THE FORD TAURUS'S AND IS MY FAVORITE MODEL OF THE 90'S AND THE NINETH GENERATION OF F150'S AND I LIKE OLDER F150'S EVEN THE F100'S
I recently bought a used Taurus for this very reason...God forbid something needs replacement (which probably will be the case sometime)...It's not like you can't find parts...
holy ford cult. But i know what you mean, my local junk yard has 10 of those bastard. I love it. All LXs though, but one had leather seats and a sunroof
Where is this junk yard? I love Tauruses, I'd have a ball! Also, for all you Taurus owners, please make some cold start videos on them. There aren't many around
The Taurus and Sables are great cars if you can get passed the transmission problem. Ford in the 90s put crapy trannys in that couldn't take the power of thier engines. I had a new tranny put into my 94 Sable GS that has performance upgrades built into it so it can take the punishment without doing damage. And now my car takes off like a bat out of hell.
Last time i checked, there were 3 2nd Gen SHO's, at least 2 of them were underneath other cars (parts were still somewhat accessible though) and one was off on it's own. I was actually there, today, but not for long, so I didn't really get to browse the Taurus section. I did notice that there was a 3rd gen SHO there, but it was pretty beat up, and a lot of parts were yanked from it already.
dude this looks exactly like the junk yard 10 miles from my house you wouldnt hapen to live in IA would ya ... i bought a 97 taurus for 1000 bucks and i was allowed to go pick parts off any of the taurus or sables for free!!!! my car is just gitn finished and the total cost was 1150 dollars car 1000 paint 100 license 50.... best looking 1000 dollar car priceless :)
@MistaX8 i agree! i have a 1994 taurus. my first ever car. i got it for only 1,200. insurance is cheap. AC and HEater works well, v6 engine strong and smooth. never had a major engine problem. this car seems like its going to run forever. seriously. for 5 years, i've only spent 600 bucks for minor repairs. pretty awesome. for a car that's like 15 years old its impressive.
When had a 95 ford taurus. It was a good dependable car until we hit a deer. It still ran it would just overheat because of the radiator. About the only good ford.
I just loooove that Sable, specially with the digital dash. If I could, I`d buy that one and restore it completely along with some updates. It saddens me to see such fine cars at a junkyard like that. I love pretty much the whole Taurus/Sable lineup from 1986 'til 1995, except the 92-95 Sable sedan, the rear is ugly compared to the first generation. The wagon looks great, though.
Hey Mista. I wish I was there with you and had my checkbook. I'd buy both wagons - one for me one for you and then have you take all the parts from other cars and build me a new Taurus and give you the other wagon as the fee for your services. what do you think? Sincerely, JAMES.

Pacific Green (dark teal) must've been a very popular color choice...My 96 Taurus is that color, and so was my 98 Ranger before it...

The junkyard in this vid is in Billerica, MA.
That's what I love about the Taurus, you can get them in good condition for cheap, and the insurance on them is cheap.

Taurus's are great cars! we are on our 5th
we had a 1995 thats 14 years old. Original tranny and digital clock. That white one reminds me of it! That was when station wagons ruled the road!
We now have an 2008 and cant wait for the 2010
That makes me sad about the poor taurus's in the junk yard!

I need to gain years of experience before I could restore a car to it's former glory.
One day, I'd love to take an old Taurus wagon and make it rear wheel drive, with a 4.6 under the hood or something. It's be an awesome sleeper.

Ford Taurus are great car I brought my in 1987 Ford Taurus and she still run like a champ. she is a dayli driver.

oh, yep, at my local junkyard, whenever i go there with my dad, the guy at the junkyard guy's like, the Taurus SECTION is over there.
bumblebee1247 3 years ago
Section?? No one else finds this alarming?
Clearly the transmission issues ruined alot of people's cars...an entire junkyard lot...

ohhhhh taurus city ill use some parts for my taurus and cougar.

That place looks awesome. I bet most of those Tauruses ended up their for just bad transmissions.
They won't just let you buy that Taurus you want for a couple hundred?
TaurusKing87 3 years ago
I don't know if they'll let me buy it.
My problem is the fact that I don't have an extra couple hundred bucks, and I don't have a place to put a 2nd car.
MistaX8 3 years ago
If weren't for that stinkin' transmission these were actually pretty good cars. I don't have $2500 to blow on a trans every 70k.
