i am going to hurghada next month....and after all i saw about this stone fish i am getting worried i wont get to bath in the sea....are these stone fishes also found on the shore...i mean in shallow water so you can step on it ?

that's a really bad example to show.. guess the vid is more about showing off. yeah, very brave, you almost touched a stone fish - you also encouraged divers to swim around fingering stuff on the reef. wish you a happy stonefish!

....i live in aqaba..i see lots of amazing things like this when i go scuba diving....i once saw a snake that was nearly 20 cm wide...it was scary as hell..

Totally agree...DON'T TOUCH, just watch. I'm a Divemaster and I even see some instructors who think they have some "right" to touch...hope they get stung!!

very poisonous actually.... stone fish are the deadliest fish there is! I recommend you search for Steve Erwin's documentary about stone fish if you want to see what happens when you step on their fins. Cheers buddy

how deep did you find the stonefish?

It's not a problem if they bite, it's the needle tips on their backs and fins that have venom in them. From the bottom they cannot harm you, but i wouldn't try it myself. Actually you should have about 5 mins to live after a sting if you don't do anything about it, so i wouldn't worry about the pain as much :)
