  • orange and blue...reminds me of the hall air medivac 1 air ambulance that serves the kern county, california area....nice video!

  • Hey does anyone if a paramedic drives the helicopter? I have trying to research this for a while, it'd be great if someone gave me an answer. Thank you!

  • @LifeSeven17

your not serious are you? thats a definite no.

  • I would have loved to go work for ORNGE, but they don't hire R.N.'s so now I work as a flight nurse in Manitoba.

  • my aunty works here...she does da paychecks for everyone dere :P they make alot of moneyyyyyyyy ;) she tryna get me into there she already introduced me to like everyone dta works there and im already wit MedVents toronto ems so i might become a paramedic ;)

  • i want 2 be a flight medic 4 ornge when i am older i am facinated and we have that helicopter that exact one and i live in alliston and they land at the alliston hospital

  • Ornge trains their medics to be ALS or higher, and if an ALS flight medic is on board with a CCP then they will follow ALS protocols and not use CLS.

  • Actually, the higher level medic will control the call, so if a CCP act needs to be performed on PT, he will act accordingly.

    Just FYI.

  • soapbox187....to have an effect on the body the altitude needs to reach roughly 8000ft. This would alter blood pressure, and partial pressure of gases in your blood. Typically Ornge will fly about 500ft in the air or up to 2000ft to go above a cloud.

  • Great job on the video.

  • 5 stars for Ornge!

  • 3:51 Thunder Bay!

  • ORNGE are the most professional crews I have ever meet. We do alot of patient intercepts with them in Buffalo due to the overcrowding in Canada of Hospitals.

The crews I always deal with are down to earth, no egos. Thats alot different then the superheros of our local air ambulance who think being a flight medic means they are just one step below GOD. Keep up the good work ORNGE, should have moved to Canada to be a medic a few years ago!

  • is the cabin of the chopper pressurized?

do the protocols of air PCP differ from land PCP seeing as the difference in altitude would almost surely have an effect on the patients body

  • as far as i know ornge only employs ACPs

  • they only use to employ CCP's then they let some ACP's fly and ultimately allowed PCP's to come along as the cost to maintain CCP's was way too high

  • The medic with his thumb up at around 1:45 is Doug Steary a CCP paramedic that also teaches patient care at my school. I am in paramedics for Primary Care. This man is a genius.

  • they are the best of the best! if i have a certified state paramedic license (land be only), can i b able to work as a flight paramedic and if so, how do i make this dramatic change for my dream?

  • what is the songs name?

  • Thunderstruck by AC/DC

  • Great music, Unbelievable pictures, Super Guys, Ulitmate machines, saving lives, No, I'm not a Paramedic, but my life depended on these guys, and they are the worlds BEST!!!

  • incredible video

  • u said they brought ppl safely......our ornge helicopter crashed.

  • ya without a patient on board.

  • are the pilots paramedics too or do they just fly the bird?

  • Just fly

  • just fly the bird

  • @lilcooldude count the # of hours theyve had, and the number of years without an accident at all. the accident that happened was mechanical. machines break. no patients were on board and the actions of the pilots helped save everyones life. 1 crash 0 lives lost in thousands of operational hours... speaks volumes

  • that shouldnt say @lilcooldude haha my bad.. good vid dude!

  • @lilcooldude thank god!

  • Lilcool-Great editing with good music, not unpleasant like most headbanger music. How about getting permission from the health ministry for you to fly inside the chopper from dispatch to pickup and then dropoff at the hospital. That would be cool to the max. You could then be youtube famous. lol

  • you can be a PCP(f)for ornge but you are very limited to where you can work..Moosonee for example. everywhere else in the province is staffed with at least ACPs

  • hey, so i can be a PCP, and be a flight paramedic? Or should i do the ACP program first then try to be a flight medic or even do the the CCP (Critical Care Paramedic )program?

  • yes you can be a pcp flight paramedic. ornge has a aeromedical program to bridge you from land PCP to flight PCP.

  • Ornge,,,,What a group, in my "humble" opinion, the best of the best.

    The ultimate pros.

Having worked with these people prior to my retirement, I can say this without question, Ornge you make us all proud.

    Thanks gang...

  • Great pics!

  • hey PsalmzOner i thought you have to do the PCP program then the ACP program then the flight paramedic program

  • Hey Snack... I heard you can take the flight course once your finished your PCP program, You probably won't get hired on as fast as if you were a ACP. One of my buds who finished the PCP program is taking the flight course right now. He's not even in a service yet, so figure if he can then why can't I.

  • It would be so crazy to be a flight medic. I'm considering taking the flight medic program once I'm finish with my pcp program.

  • Nice video, I have had to call in the Chopper a few times (7791)

  • I have to say these guys that fly in ontario Canada which is where most of the heli footage is from r top notice.....very good pilots and very very good medical teams....I have worked with them many of time...Well deserved ladys and gents.....I do salute u with great respect...

  • Rock on "bandage 1"!!!!
