Sonic and Rainbow dash are both really badass by far. Now, according to Sega, Metal Sonic is just the bit faster than sonic himself. Metal sonic is said to go 5 mach tops, while when doing the rainboom, RD goes 10 FUCKING mach and in that case RD is faster than sonic. But when sonic gets the chaos emeralds he goes faster than the spped of light which is around 200 FUCKING SHIT YOUR PANTS mach. So with the emeralds sonic would win. without he might lose depending on his attitude. (comic#175)
I love both characters! Both are incredibly fast, agile, loyal and cheeky. In a race I wouldn't know who would win though. Sonic's getting faster and so is Rainbow since the sonic rainboom. According to Sega Sonic the hedgehog was created in 1990 and was geared towards kids and above. So Rainbow Dash was actually there before Sonic and was just needing a good character and voice from older generation Hasbro. It looks like they did it! I used to pretend Rainbow dash was a rainbow blasting enemies from sky in the 1990s.

Sonic the Hedgehog can get to Mach 10 for a few seconds as well, but he requires a Power Ring. His usual speed? Mach 2, maybe 3.

RD had to be going at the speed of sound because a mach cone formed around her. Showing she was going at the speed of sound then broke going mach 10 which is 7,560 mph 2X's as fast as sonic. Plus running at the speed of light is impossible to achieve by a living being. 1. No living thing has the power to reach those speeds. 2.IF something did reach that speed it would burn to a crisp because of friction. Proving that 1.Sonic cant recht he speed of light.2.RD is much faster then sonic.

Many different calculations (which are ALL correct) shows Rainbow D at MANY different speeds. One shows 300 mph, another one shows 1980 km/h, mach five, mach ten and nothing at all! (The nothing speed comes from Rainbow Dash NOT flapping her wings OR gliding while flying at high speeds. I say, Rainbow D needs to fly properly!)

Sonic, on average, runs at the speed of sound, which is 768 mph, or 1 mile for every three seconds. Now in the comics sonic is able to get to super, hyper, and ultra without the use of rings. Because Sonic can run the speed of light in his Super Sonic form, no-one knows his exact speed. But the SADX manual states that "He's the world's fastest, hypersonic hedgehog" with a staggering running speed of 3,840 mph.

@sonicmarioTDfan347 Plus, when RD pulled that Sonic Rainboom she BARELY hit the speed of sound, it was 768 mph and only 1670 g. Therefore.. My thoughts on RD is that she's slightly slower than Sonic. Besides people.. haven't you been suspicious about that name? "sonic RAINboom?" I may be sounding like a dumbass for saying this but it DOES sound like it's ripping off one of sonic's signature moves (the sonic boom).
