I feel eternally forgiven for everything bad I might have done, not by God, but by myself. This is so beautiful I feel as though I am gazing reality in the eye and can't stop from swooning over its unending beauty and splendor. I surrender my ego and all that I have. Take me away, I'll be better off.
I f'ing love Radiohead, why? Because I was listening to them and I heard they had been inspired by DJ Shadow so I looked him up. Little did I know that was what would introduce me to such amazing music, Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, The Orb, Global Communication, The Future Sound Of London, Sasha & John Digweed and more. I Love it all
it's funny, you know, that you mention radiohead and dj shadow and that you're starting with aphex twin, since that is pretty similar to the path that i followed to BoC. i'm happy that you're not just listening without appreciating. certainly BoC is not the end all and be all of my musical tastes, but their sound changed how i listened. i found them at the right time. you'll eventually want something in your music you can't name or explain. that's when you should come back to BoC. you'll see.
@godisanapple all he's sayin is that he has no idea ... how to be this fucking amazing, he's trying, it may come to him someday or one way-or-the-other...but it will
@godisanapple Agree. And I have to say I found them at the right time too, guess it's always a right time... After them (and idm) I can't listen to music like I did before. Even if I don't listen to their music for months and get new/old music that have nothing to do with BoC, I always get back to them and listen with nostalgia. And even if I don't know the reasons to consider a band my favorite, and we know we change our minds every week or so, I'm pretty sure they're always on top.
@godisanapple I'm pretty high, gotta sat these songs are worth my four thousand listens, as I now know literally every note, have a dialog for their back and forth drum stuff, these guys are nuts guys, brilliant artists. I bet their next album will be about the beauty of a humongous futuristic water powered city with efficient trade or something, probably there will be Aliens involved trying to take over politically, half of the people will follow and half will be left to wallow among politics.
Richard D. James album is my absolute favorite Aphex Twin record. Accidentally ordered it when I was about 14 years old and now I listen to IDM everyday. SAW 85-92 is bad ass as well, I got Ageispolis as my ringtone, haha
@yeahyeahyaha2 while you're getting there, try aphex twin - selected ambient works 85-92, if u haven't already, it's a great album and it's pretty accessible when compared to boards of canada.
hey thanks a lot 4 u're recomendation, just yesterday i download richard d james album, i'm getting into this n a friend told me how good aphex twin is, since u i'm gonna start in works 85-92 instead of richard d, thanks again

Boards of canada inspired Deadmau5, back in the day, when Deadmau5 was Halcyon441, and he had his Circa album. All the songs sound inspired by BoC.
Im just now getting to BoC point, i listened to BoC a long ass time ago and though "This is BAD!", but now i really like it.
I went from Screamo<DnB/Dubstep<Electronica/EDM<Ambient<BoC
over the course of 4 years...
I still love electronica, i mean hell i produce it, but BoC is very refreshing.
