I sometimes use acrylics for an underpainting, because it's cheaper than Oils, and the clean up is much easier. However, I do a lot of blending and acrylics dry too fast to allow blending.It's ok to put oils over acrylics, but not the other way around. If you put acrylics on top of oils it will eventually fall off. If you really want to be a good artist, practice a lot.

I practiced my portrait skills on the computer. Coincidence is I did one yesterday after .... literally years of not painting. I was surprised to find it is like riding a bike. Fun but tiring. ;^)
