Nomads would be nice to have. Thing is that they're way too big, eats up batteries, and the technology as far as color LCD screens just wasn't good in the 90s. I'd still get one as a collector's item though.
Thanks. Most informative, straightforward review of this thing yet. I keep getting upset about not being able to save RPGs and then I realize wait....I haven't beaten an RPG in 7 years.. XD. Another issue with the nomad over these no one seems to be mentioning is that not only are they big and the screens are dated, but any nomad screen will be so old it will be faded to the point of being near illegible.
dude, you mentioned that the emulated games from your sd card don't save right? how about the built-in games in the gopher? can you store save files of those games?
@00samee00 They most certainly work with ROMs. Do a little bit of Google research, the information is WIDELY available. That's how I found out. It all has to be in a special folder.
@WrathOscuro The Gopher is only made by 1 company, but have 2 different revisions.. One has a changeable battery, the other has built in battery and IR for a 2nd controller.
@hakemon Hi, I've read you have to format it a certain way to work with roms on the SD card. IS this true? I'm refering to the Blaze version which is the UK version so it may be different. Also, does it work with mini SD cards with adaptors.
@EquipoBrandsen09 Still hard to understand even after translation. The screen is nearly native res to the Genesis.. It only has some line doubling issues because it stretches 224 to what looks like 230 (not even 240).
how do you put games on an sd card that will work for the gopher?? i just bought a gopher and i wanted to put more games on the sd card to play on the gopher....such as all the sonic games...its frustrating not figuring out how to do this
@toledoboy1234 Considering these original companies really aren't making money from these old un-sold games, I highly doubt ANY of them will be coming after you.. Besides, this kind of question is left to the legally scared. ;)
man i just bought one of these, i wish theres some sort of firmware update or hack so we can save games or save state - the sega has some pretty good RPGs
Has anyone found a patch to save the games yet?

@foat99 Of course NOT. It's a Sega GENESIS/MEGADRIVE emulating handheld only.
If it did, I would have covered that.
