I believe that this song a a critique of our modern world the the phenomena of following behind things that we do not really have attachment to. As the title says, it is time to "Begin Again".

From what I gather, this song is about getting rid of the old things that we hold dear and starting over. This includes the religions and icons such as pop stars and those whom we may hold in high regard in academia, etc
