I don't think their trying to copy Coldplay, or U2, they have their own unique sound, according to me. I heard them way before I am Number Four came out, and saw them in concert before that. They were amazing, and nothing like Coldplay, or U2. Personally, I think Civil Twilight is 10x better than either of them, but their talent isn't as recognized or mainstream.

As an avid U2 fan, I can't deny the similar styles, but Civil Twilight is very much their own band. The Drumming is nothing like U2, and the guitar is also louder in the background than U2's would be, Steven McKellar sounds alot like Bono at times, but isn't that a good thing? The similarity to U2 makes me want to listen to them more, and they remind me alot of eachother. Civil Twilight is a very new and fresh band, and will probably be huge sooner than later.
