I am a ghanaian and i can testify that in my country spirituality is taking seriously, maybe even too much. The seriousness of the matter can be compared to how the law works in western countries, it has a heavy impact on everyday routines. Even though a good 75% of ghanaians are chritians, animism still takes over their minds, espacially in villages like this. People still rely on fetish priests and cults of the ancestors and so on . But this makes up our culture.

I lived in Ghana for two years. Most people don't realize that there is a stark contrast between villages like the one shown in this video and the cities. The people who live in the cities don't believe as much in witches and the supernatural.

The film was fair in it's representation of an African Cultural aspect.

That's interesting. I dont know much about Ghanian traditional religions, however, I think it is here where they believe in GOD, and a whole bunch of saint like higher spirits - The Abossum. This documentary report was written from a sarcastic christian - westernized mindset so that they are viewed as uneducated heathens... I truly doubt that the chicken's legs had anything to do with it. And you see, this is why many "pagan" religions choose to remain "occult" (hidden to the outside eyes)

I lived in Ghana for two years. Most people don't realize that there is a stark contrast between villages like the one shown in this video and the cities. The people who live in the cities don't believe as much in witches and the supernatural.
Overall it seemed like city people just followed some rules out of tradition and habit. I would get scolded for whistling, because witches don't like the sound and they could curse me for annoying them. It's like our black cat/ladder/sidewalk crack.
