You wouldn't have the new school without the old school.....love this song..I agree with tray04will. The warmth of a woman - hands down is what I'm about!
@clbeast U are 2 funny, I almost wet my pants over your comment, if u didn't grew up in the 70's,80's & 90's era. U miss out on real music, that reaches deep down in your soul. It makes u happy all over, back then, ARTIST SANG the DAMN thing! Much Love.
Alot of people think that kids today don't know good music but im 16 and almost everything i listen to is old school music aka good music. Love this song.
im glad I was born in 1990 those were the best times of my life and in childhood, things were so good until 9/11 destroyed what little dignity we had as a culture, but now since we cant make music like this anymore it wouldnt hurt to come back with the new jack swing genre in 2010 it is needed very much in the music industry to combat the commercialization and digitization of RnB music
I hope my point was taken into considertion, and made you think
I never knew the video was so raunchy. It is such a nice song. I used to sing that song to my little girl, I feel very emotional when I hear it because I mean every word. I hope she never sees this!
@karolynruffin1 I had just found out she was a little girl when this song was out in 1990. Everytime she would start kicking...I would sing this song to her. It seemed to soothe both of us. Just thinking about it, makes me run tears of...of... motherhood. Never saw the video til now, though. LOL. Still love the song.
I guess artist like trey songz just ain't enough for old timers, not everything played today is trash. It's up to each individual person to pick what they like. One man's trash is another man's treasure, so long as they personally get something out of it!
So quit hating and keep your comments to yourselves.
Back in the day we loved the ladies. It was expressed in music, When we went out we dressed to impress and we tried to keep a little money in our pocket to show our girl a good time. Now in thug life era niggas are more in love with their gold teeth and homeboys than the warmth of a woman. Now this ignorant mentalitty is being pushed out by radio as music. I keep it old school on the regular.
@tray04will Not only that, but along with higher quality music we had in the 1990s, there was the emergence of music videos with positive, glamorous images of black men and black women -- better role models for the self-esteem of our young people.
Somehow, gangsta rap took over and undid all of that, with music videos portraying black women only as "hoochie mamas". I wonder which forces were behind that change...hmmm? We, as the buying public, bear some responsibility for that too.
@tray04will -hey boss i've said the same shit 1000 times. your right. we wanted to look good, smell good, dress nice, & impress a female with respect & love. these plastic, no dressing, gangbanging, disrespectful, crack babies from the 80's 90's have destroyed the game.i'm 43 & i just don't see how a female today would even talk to a thug who carries himself like that.saggin, grillz, hat sideways, looking fucked up,smelling like weed, playing play station all day without a job, what a bunch of shit.
@str8outtatexas1 I keep telling my teenage girls the same damn thing and have chased off several batsh*t thugs ith my shot gun. Then I go to my oldies cassettes and play a song or two like this and tell them that THIS is what they shold expect from a man!
@tray04will .....you find VERY VERY few women who if you played this song for, their reaction is OMG....that is my song. Songs like this and "Whatever You Want" by x3 Tony, "Whip-appeal" by Babyface and "Before I Let You Go" by Blackstreet, STILL get panties. You cant vibe to songs like this if your girl is younger than 24 (and even thats stretching it)

I had to log in and LOL @ that shit! Kevon popped up and I busted out laughing after reading your comment.
Anyway, I'm 27 and I miss this kind of music. When I'm 50, this is what I will be jammin' to. These po' 90's babies are gonna have to grow old to, "Put a Ring On It", "Drop It Low" and the like. Eighties babies grew up to the best music!

@gharlston11 I agree with you 100%!! My cousin & I loved this song so much back in the day that she named her son Kevon!! This is a beautiful love song!!

@TiNyDeMoNs U SAID IT BEST, I JUST WENT AND BOUGHT 3 NEW CDS, NOT TODAYS MUSIC BUT ALL 90'S, I LUV IT MORE THAN ANY MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD, I MUST ADMIT I DO HAVE MY OLDSCHOOL MARVIN GAYE, JAMES BROWN, AL GREENE AND DEM THOUGH
My friend I tottally agree with you.Music went down hill afgter 1995 when all these factory produced garbage bands as the Spice Girls, N-Sync, Jonas Brothers, etc....
@TiNyDeMoNs I agree with you. I grew up on this stuff and I love it. I'm 29 now and if they actually put something out that was worth buying then I would. This type of sound is lost and I think that it's due for a comeback.
You are so right. I stopped buying music CDs many years ago. I haven't bought anything new in many years. They stopped making the music that I am compelled to buy. I used to buy music CDs every other week.
now what i have to say about this song you have to be a romantic person for this lets your lady know that you would do anything for her to make her happy
Man yall ain't lyin. I sometimes feel I'm not old enough to appreciate a lot of this R&B, but then I just think of how SHITTY this new stuff is. I think the last straw was when Mariah came out with her new song obsessed, I was so mad. Going from amazing stuff like vision of love to that shit? UGH. This vid just reminds me that I was born at the right time('89) to be able to have some nostalgia of at least some of it.
I used to sing this to my Ciro acapella when he was Little, "i'll give the sun the rain the moon & stars and the mountains,"......I really would give him the World if i could.....
Oadriankeith, thank you! I was soo hoping someone would say something like that! This is the type of music that we need to come back! Not this shit we have today!!
Thanks odog65! I mean there are some songs today that are good(not too many though). I do like Neyo. He has that 90's r&b vibe but that's just my opinion though! As cheesy as the 80's and 90's were, those eras seem to just have better music! I mean c'mon people! Babyface, After 7, Force M.D.s, Silk, H-town, Boys 2 Men, Keith Sweat, LSG, Janet Jackson(90's Janet), Mariah Carey(90's Mariah that is), Soul for Real, All 4 One, etc., etc.! Need I really go on!!!

@TiNyDeMoNs
You are so right. I stopped buying music CDs many years ago. I haven't bought anything new in many years. They stopped making the music that I am compelled to buy. I used to buy music CDs every other week.

@TiNyDeMoNs Preach! In complete agreement there. It's all about the quantity not the quality. That's why there is so much CRAP out there today.

Oadriankeith, thank you! I was soo hoping someone would say something like that! This is the type of music that we need to come back! Not this shit we have today!!

I feel ya I'm fed up with the shit they make today
odog65 2 years ago
Thanks odog65! I mean there are some songs today that are good(not too many though). I do like Neyo. He has that 90's r&b vibe but that's just my opinion though! As cheesy as the 80's and 90's were, those eras seem to just have better music! I mean c'mon people! Babyface, After 7, Force M.D.s, Silk, H-town, Boys 2 Men, Keith Sweat, LSG, Janet Jackson(90's Janet), Mariah Carey(90's Mariah that is), Soul for Real, All 4 One, etc., etc.! Need I really go on!!!
