  • Song is vocally and musically similar to that of Kylie Minogue.

  • Comment removed

  • @MacEliot both share the same musical producers, Stock Aitken Waterman, or you think that kylie is a musical genius? they were the creators of this singular musical pop trademark sound, they create Kylie,Bananarama,Sonia,Rick Astley and SOO many others, but kylie went undefeated from oblivion though.

  • @MacEliot Well, they were produced by the same people- Stock, Aitken and waterman, so..........

  • Just great 80's dance music , Stock,Aitkin Waterman brillinace. They found a recipe that worked and then slightly changed it each time, always using the original mix . Brilliant

  • "Tom's gay, dear!" ~Jack McFarland on Will&Grace

  • THE GUY IS SO GAY!

  • I only listened to this just so I could see what song was number 1 in the UK when I was born.

  • this is my mom and dad's era and I just imagined them dancing like that :))

  • @Merei09 Thanks now I really do feel old :) SAW was big in my teenage years.

  • such memories...nostalgia!!!!

  • I saw her live in a club that used to be called Chains. I got a tad carried away and called out "go on Sonia give it to them girl" in a scouse accent I had to shout "Toxteth" after it so she knew I wasn't ripping the piss. It was a fun performance, as it should be without serious pretentions.

  • AWE SooooOOOMMMEEE!!!!

  • I must have been ten when this was out lol

  • Cool SAAW lol

  • Beyond awesome! 5 years old I loved it, still love it at 27!

  • Lost Baldwin brother?

  • If you play this song fast, it sounds like kylie..if you play this song slow, it sounds like rick astley...lol..

  • Music from my childhood

  • Whenever I see Sonia I kinda wonder if the carpet matches the drapes. Scarily enough I think it just might.

  • @jazzaj2003 @jazzaj2003 Why the hell wouldn't it? Do you think she's really a brunette and went ginger to help boost her career? PMSL.

  • take me!!!

  • 30 people like Beyonce ou some trash seemed.

  • @ZpaceBoyProductions @TheDIRMISTERY * Rick. Stupid autocorrect :/

  • @TheDIRMISTERY That's because they were all produced by Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman. They were the 3 biggest pop record producers from about 1984 to the mid 90s. Though, during 87-89 most of their songs started to sound the same because they found a 'sound' or style they liked, it worked and they copied it into the other songs, like Kylie Minouge, Rock Astley (he'd left at this point though) some Dead or Alive stuff and some Bananarama stuff.

  • @SpaceBoyProductions1 and a donna summer hit aswell

  • One of my first childhood crushes!

  • a top bird - and great singer of her day - cheers sonia

  • Q: What's wrong with 80s fashion?

A: The fact that, at the beginning of this video, I couldn't tell which legs belonged to a man and which belonged to a woman...

  • @carouselambra7

At least there WAS fasion, unlike today where every woman dresses like a whore.

  • Thumbs up if you sat through this because Arthur Darvill linked it.

  • @starsfell I was that bored I fell for it, I cant get it out of my head now. lol it burns

  • good song but need the lyrics

  • Nice song although very much anything like Kylie Minogue ever did at the time, probably even too much. It basically sounds like a mix of "I Should Be So Lucky" and "Never Too Late".

  • Remember dancing to this in the nightclub great memories

  • i sit next to this 42 year old bloke at work, im 26, i mentioned that i remembered this song, he nearly fell of his chair

  • THE BEST UAUUUUUUUUUU

    ANTIGS..................KISSESSSSSSS ...ANDRÉIA

    IN FRON BRASILLLLLLLLLLL

  • THE BEST UAUUUUUUUUUU

    ANTIGS..................KISSESSSSSSS ...ANDRÉIA

  • Who else thought that the one in the pink converse at the start was the girl -__-

  • one day i will dance as well as that dude does.

  • This song never gets old :-)

  • ginger pubes!

  • How can she be in love with a so obvious gay man?

  • How can she be in love with a so obvious gay man?

  • I loved this song I was 13 I think.. good memories

  • she really is a female rich astley, rite down to the ginger top lol

  • @GDyss7997 Or, indeed, Rick Astley.

  • @TimBrewin as a military morse code operator, my typos r seriously beyond me lol, but i posted this on facebook, and my old supervisor said she still has her cassette tape. granted she grew up in Spain, which i'm sure was easier to reach musically, because i do NOT remember this song, and i grew up in the US, but yet, I know who Rick is lol

  • @GDyss7997 I must apologise for my comment. Slightly factious. Strange coincidence though. I'm a communications officer for an ambulance & first aid provision charity in the UK.

  • @TimBrewin rubbish, no apology necessary, it was a silly mistake to make, its probably a good thing i don't copy code anymore...do actually hear distress calls? i'm a comms signals analyst so the 1st time i heard a pilot call for back up i had to change frequencies, i'd be an emotional wreck if i had to hear ppl in anguish that i couldn't help

  • @GDyss7997 I am the person who sits in multi-agency control facilities, typically at large public events, and deploys the foot patrols and vehicles as required to respond to incoming messages from other ground staff, eg, event stewards, security staff, etc etc. I don't actually deal with the public.

  • she's trying to be rick astley

  • Horrible, horrible, horrible. Almost as bad as Rick Astley and Colonel Abrams and the video....let's forget the video.

And that dude....girl...that dude ain't into whatcha got.

  • esta cancion me encanta ,los 85 al 90 fueron geniales

  • 1:21 - WTF?!?

  • So camp....i love it

  • what chest size are your pants!!!!!!

  • She sounds like a stalker

  • @Blueseas81

81??? You WISH!!! You were probably born 10 years later

  • @1Thompsonmusic what the fuck are you talking about??

  • @Blueseas81

You're name has the number 81 in it, or haven't you realized that yet? As if you were around then. You were probably not born until the late 80's or early 90's or you wouldn't say that about Sonia she's a better singer than anyone now.

  • @1Thompsonmusic Wow, clearly you ARE a fucking idiot! If you saw my profile you would see it says 30! I'm sure your pea sized brain doesn't quite understand that yet. Feel sorry for you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Blueseas81

I'm 31 that doesn't mean I can't remember anything from at least 1983, which I can. Fucking cheek of you piss off twat

  • @1Thompsonmusic stick a cork in it you dumb fuck

  • @Blueseas81

I've got A levels and a degree. I've recently got a PG diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music. It takes a lot of hard work to get that, so don't call me a dumb f**k OK?

  • Dam lol.... why did high waisted blue jeans ever go out of fashion? :p loool!!

  • and still played to day love itb

  • SAW were the first users of Autotune- had to do Kylie minogue until she learned to sing

  • Could that dancer be any gayer? IMPOSSSIBLE!!!!!

  • @dominikjacobs like, wha?

  • sounds very similar to "Do They Know It's Christmas" from Band Aid II, "I should be so lucky" from Kylie and a little bit to "Together Forever" from Rick Astley

  • @ifyouwantbochin; well, that's not entirely surprising- the S/A/W production team (who dominated the UK charts in the late 1980s) were criticised at the time for the alleged formulaic similarity of a lot of their records.

I think some of this was down to the trademark production sound as well as the songs themselves (especially since the original version of Band Aid wasn't theirs).

  • @NotATube Indeed, I think that redefines the term "music industry", thanks for your comment

  • @ifyouwantbochin It's the standard Stock Aitken Waterman sound. The drums are very similar to those you mentioned - I think they used the Linndrum as standard.

  • TheGodParticle music has never gone down

  • @SlyFly101

    Like, huh?

  • This is when music started to go down hill with its cheap n tacky songs. I think pete waterman had a lot to do with it.

  • WELL I am 35 now and I luved this trax wen i was 14

  • @davidtoland1976 I had 10 years now I have 31 that those times, a greeting from La Paz - Bolivia

  • The way she's sings this song to that guy. I'd love it at the end if he said to her..."I'm sorry to let you down but I'm gay honey"...lol

  • Anybody wanna dance...?

  • Classy Soundtrack!

  • All the music producers of today obviously have their heads stuck WAY UP their ASSES, cuz they seem to have completely lost sight of what STYLE and ORIGINALITY was all about!

The musicians of the 80's not only looked and sounded GREAT, but the lyrics in their songs actually carried some MEANING in them.

In other words, 80's music simply had more MASS APPEAL!

If the SHIT-ASS music of today had that very same kind of profound effect on us, then we wouldn't be switching back to all our 80's faves!

  • I didn't realise ,when i was little, how stalkerish this song was!!

  • The Scouse Kylie !!

  • @OtomoTenzi Amen to that:D

  • i bet you everyone of the 80's were bouncing to this in the 80's?

  • I bet this guy gets the piss ripped out of him for his ridiculous dancing in this video.

  • I think why this formula was a succes because it's uncomplicated and the tune translates the emotions for people to understand universally.

But we get bored fast because of that.

  • what a but nugget! the size of her tiny little arms that she insists waving them around.

  • state of it!

  • Jesus Fucking Christ, what a goddamn bullshit generation of retarded shitheads and talentless fucks!

Nothing but a buncha FAKE-ASS BITCHES and PUNK MOTHERFUCKERS who 'act' like they could sing, when they can't even MOAN any better than an old goat getting humped in a violent rainstorm...

Now THIS here is a fine example of what REALLY GOOD FUCKING MUSIC should sound like, and look like.

So FUCK all the bitch-ass motherfuckers and crying goats of today's music!

    80's FOREVER!!!

  • @OtomoTenzi stop being such a downer. If you don't like it skip it, asshole

  • I remember hearing that song on the radio on a day out back in '89. Loved the song then and still love the song now. I agree, her "boyfriend" seems to be behaving a bit too fake around her. He does seem a bit comme si comme ca.
