  • Erm, how is this a Led Zeppelin reunion?

  • what pedal efect use Jimmy Page?

damm robert an page are master!!

  • @coslip

    what is? Whammy???

  • This is terrible! Doesn't sound like the studio version at all!

No, wait. This is awesome because it's not the same thing as what's on any album! If I wanted to hear the studio version, I would've just grabbed my cd. I never get tired of hearing Zeppelin/Page & Plant live because they're always doing something new.

  • SMOKIN !!

  • que efecto usa page en esta version???? suena pokamadreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Every time I listen to this it just gets me higher!

Such an uplifting version of this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another incredible solo by Mr. Page.

  • Robert plant el león de oro :)

  • this isnt rare its on the unledded dvd u can buy it on amazon it is highly recommended as its the best performance jimmy and robert did since 1980

  • VERY GOD

  • This awesome. I love led zeppelin

  • This isn't that amazing. It's "Page & Plant" in 1994. They toured together until about 1998 (I think)

  • Comment removed

  • this is kinda weird...

  • idk what this is but it isn't 'black dog'

  • @theshingles100 Page used a different riff. It's still "Black Dog"

  • @PBANDSNOW u can hardly call it a riff lol

  • This is not 2008. Look at Jimmy's hair. He was grey when he did the Olympics track with that bint, This is probably 99 ish

  • pra acha q esse riff eh melhor q o original tem q se mto idiota, sem ofença

  • Makes a pleasant change. FFS these guys can't keep churning out the same stuff for 30 years! Can you imagine how dull that would be?(for us and them). If I saw this live I'd be pleasantly surprised by the new angle, long live LZ

  • si son ellos

  • I like this riff better than the original. It makes jimmy look and sound 2 times better than the original.

  • This is not bad at all.

  • 오빠 왜 목소리가 안늙어요....ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Robert Plant was my first love...

  • no no no wheres the nateral rock soundin shit ! oh dear comercial no jimmy dont do it lol

  • Why are people hating on the different riff that Page uses? and saying that he was too doped up to play the original? It still kicks ass.

Jimmy admitted himself his Heroin use if anything made him better at guitar....

And the point of this is that its part of the Unledded era. The songs were meant to be built around a different frame, for instance "Levee Breaks" sounds so much different then the Led Zeppelin version but I think it sounds just as good.

  • "Hey Jimmy, you ready?"---"Sorry boss, I'm still too high on heroine." --- "Okay Rob, we're gonna do the shitty version. You're gonna do the same thing, but since Jimmy too doped up to use the fret board, he's just gonna use the wah pedal to cover it up. Oh, also we're gonna have a second guitarist who isn't going to be audible at all." --- "Okay."

  • @idegomesfoto I agree that this was the worst black dog I've heard.

  • wrost black dog ever!!!

  • @idegomesfoto you'd better go back to school !!!! wrost ? worst you mean ,pratt !!!

  • dunno if i agree with the tassled epaulettes robert

  • After thirty years, it still fits, like a glove.

  • jaime j aime!!!

  • This version is like something out of a strange dream.

  • what years is this?? someone please

  • why is there a Jedi playing the second guitar?

  • Exceptional!!!

  • what s the point of turkish carpet on every musical related place? does it provide a better acoustic ? lol

  • I love plying this

  • Porn! Fuckin unbileaveable version!

  • I NEED THE TAB FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what concert is this?

  • WTF IS THIS?

  • chi ha osato mettere non mi piace????? DD:

  • THIS MOTHERFUKN BLACK DOG IZ THA BEST DAMN VERSION EVVVVVER, CHILDREN!!!!!!!!

  • No one here has an ear for real rock or appreciation for MASTERS OF ROCK respected the world over.. Friggin whiners and illiterate want to be rockers go listen to boy george and F*uck OFF...

  • @boldering1 Yeah, what you said!

  • still, the disco sucks movement was one of the great tragedies of history

  • Robert Plant really loose it. But Page are amazingly awsome,he's always be my fav guitarist...

  • this is shit

  • @wgruesho EAT doggie dodo

  • fuck page :| awesome

  • i thought it was bonham's son...

  • he change his guitar

  • whole lotta love and black dog mixed...i guess theyre the only guys who can do that

  • I honestly do not like it. It's JPJ's riff isn't even there - another youtube video shows that Page had a hard time figuring it out.

  • Michael Lee (RIP) is what made the Unledded special and this so great. No one can replace Bonham, but his sound was so "full" compared to all others who tried. Makes me grit my teeth every time I listen.....

  • Incredible version!!!!

  • how could you NOT like THIS!!?!??!??!

  • Pirates of Rock and Roll....OoOoOooOhhhhhhh.....

  • Porl Thompson!!! :o)

  • Coming from Plant and Page, this is a pretty interesting rendition of their own song

  • Is this the only video of this warmup thing? I hope they have a bunch of the eventual BluRay release of the 02 gig (right zeppelin.... right?) whenever the hell that comes...

  • Who's that wonderful drummer?

Why should he not replace Bonham, as he is alive and has so much drive,

in the sake of a new Zeppelin?

  • @Froschi80 He is dead too...

  • @Froschi80 he died in exactly the same way as bonham, choked on his own vomit. what is it with zeppelin drummers?

  • @06mgibson Michael Lee, the drummer on this version of Black Dog, was an Epileptic. He died in a Hotel room, alone, of an Epileptic fit. No drink or drugs were in his body, and he did not choke on any vomit.

    RIP Michael Lee (19 November 1969 – 24 November 2008)

  • @gunggerdin1 He died at home after going there, complaining of a headache.

  • @gunggerdin1 really?

what a pitty....he's so good! and handsome ...

  • @gunggerdin1 That really stinks. He was amazing, I gotta say if Jason hadn't wanted to take part in a LZ reunion, he would have been my choice based on his Page-Plant work.

  • @gunggerdin1 Great comment!! That´s so sad man!

  • @gunggerdin1 what he played in the no quarter dvd its just beyond this world

  • @kanopiucas

Friend, I agree. Try this for size. Amazing.

    gunggerdin

  • @kanopiucas

    Even try

    youtube.com/watch?v=9km0zRaDLas

  • @gunggerdin1. Michael Lee was a consummate showman --- this performance proves it! His contribution to this visual capture is nothing short of brilliant. I must echo your wish for him to rest in peace. RIP Michael Lee.

  • @gunggerdin1 Amen. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss. He was FAR more interesting than the rest of the band, at this point. His demise is truly tragic. My prayers go to his family and friends.

  • @Froschi80 The drummer's name is Michael Lee (RIP). Great player.

  • nice! u rock! theyre really timeless..we want more baby!!!

  • Fantastic rare video and great rendition of the song! The only thing is why does Zeppelin needed a second guitar player.(a strat).....why!?

  • Comment removed

  • I will have to say that time has passed and everything changes, Im sorry to say this but today there are many options for a drummer, the legacy of Bonham has arrived and there can be a Led Zeppelin without him, we are to spirtually to stuck up.

  • what the hell

  • Every live perfomance is different from the last or the next. If I want to hear the same thing over and over again, I listen to the record, tape or CD. The studio versions have their place but live gigs are like hearing it again for the first time. Just sayin'

  • God DAMN this is cool!!! :)

  • bonzo was, i'm sorry, is the king!

  • This almost sounds like a solo song from plant insted lol.

  • Comment removed

  • What the hell was that? Didjeridoos moaning, and replacing the signature riff of the song with an E and a D barre chord? Led Zeppelin are my favorite band of all time, but this...this is lacking and bizarre, I'm sorry. Why these guys would do this to their own song, it's just beyond me. Maybe that's all they have left, I don't know. Or maybe it's just me...I don't enjoy it when a mega-classic song is dumbed down so radically, not even by the original band members.

  • @Sweeper5 yeah im a great fan of led zeppelin too, and i dont like that shit at all

  • @Sweeper5 i totaly agree dude. this wasnt good.

  • JESUS!! 0:47

  • @FaggotOfSG jesus sucking on a bong

  • No offence, but this sucks! And i love Led Zep!

Who the fuck is the Monk with the Strat?!

  • I believe this version is all about groove, not guitar.

Either you get it or you don't.

  • Check out the size of the drummers eyebrows!! Like animal from the muppets!! Only this sounds worse!!

  • this is fuckin terrible....an I am the hugest fan of both artists here.......this isnt zeppelin.....zeppelin died the moment Bonham passed.

  • @LizRichieBand maybe there is something wrong with your ears young man !!!!!!!

  • @TheSunnybunny69

i think my ears are fine....I saw the real zepp 9 times during the 70's.......this isnt zeppelin.....and respect my opinion cos I totally respect yours.

  • @LizRichieBand

What's your opinion about the "No Quarter" another Plant + Page project?

  • @ricaja

excellent musicianship but just another band IMO

  • @LizRichieBand

Yes I may agree... Althought for me is a project that as revival Led Zeppelin - as many others (they sing Zeppelin songs and do not make trash of them). The point is that Led Zeppeling the band is off but we can still feel their presence everywhere and don't need any of the original musicians alive for that!

  • haha 70 years old and still the best guitarist ever!!

  • Total energy!

  • This video was up, then down....Leave it up!

  • Wheres JPJ? And whos the bald dude?

  • Valcarion, Are you Ian Holloway the Blackpool FC manager ?

  • Comment removed

  • chi è morgan alla batteria? :D

  • I love the fact that the drummer has the biggest smile the whole time. He knows who he's playing with and fucking loves it

  • @Henazzzzz Yea the drummer is awesome...infact I think he did almost a perfect job in replicating Bonham's thunder drumming...but sadly he passed away a few years ago...he died pretty young just like Bonham did ...a sad coincidence...!!!!

  • Plant's lost a little range, but still pretty nice. I missed the classic riff a little bit during the verse, but overall this is a pretty cool unique version.

  • Really great music.....we love it !

    REMOODS

  • W zeszłym roku widziałem Metallicę, Slayera i Megadeth... Jeśli w tym zobaczę jeszcze Led Zeppelin na scenie, to mogę już pierdolnąć.

  • Why are these old women pretending to be Led Zeppelin?

  • its wierd a little over 10 years pass and jimmy page is all white hair haha X{D

  • 1:38 to 2:04 best part...

  • I have never seen this before, very cool, God how great it would be to see any combo of Zeppelin get back together, but i know i am just dreaming.

  • YEP and it was called Unledded - The "Four Quarters" Shows - Page And Plant live in NYC" - broadcast by MTV in 1995 - 3 years before MTV world was bought by Viacom at the stock markets and turned into a silly dating pulp show ! Luckily all this stuff IS available on DVD including a lot of footage of Page and Plant playing live in Morocco + Wales again !

Check the phenomenal tracks from this DVD everywhere where you see Page & Plant or No Quarters here on YT - or in my Led Zeppelin playlist !

  • Is that not That John Bonhams Son on drums

  • @rstephen4u No.

  • jesus on the didgerydo

  • different but awesome

  • Even if JPJ was playing bass, it wouldn't be Zeppelin. Never can replace Bonham, although you can get pretty close. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were the bread of Led Zeppelin, and JPJ was the peanut butter holding everything together. Having Bonham was equivalent to the difference between making a peanut butter sandwich yourself, or eating one your mom made for you as a kid. He just made it perfect, for no apparent reason.

  • @Valcarion: Sorry, the Four Quarters shows in 1995 were much much better than most they had delivered live in 70s which were often lousy+unconcentrated sets (without doubt due to booze & drugs) - something which Robert Plant even admitted in German "Rolling Stone" magazine recently. And Jason Bonham is an equal rival to his late father, if even not slightly better sometimes. This here + the whole Unledded - Four Quarters - DVD is very dynamic stuff, otherwise i would have almost forgotten them !

  • @Valcarion but jason bohnam is just bout as good as his dad and he's blood so that would be a proper replacement

  • @Valcarion bonhams song makes for an excellent replacment. he has the same groove and skill that john had

  • @Valcarion there is an apparent reason he was good ,he came from the school of drummers from the 60's that were influenced by Motown most notable Benny Benjamin . Bonham magic came from the way he hit the drum ,tuned his drums the way he used to lag /lead the beat and his producers Andy Johns ,Eddie Kramer etc.

  • This is not Led Zeppelin. This is from their Page & Plant Project during the mid to late nineties.

  • PLEASE KEEP IT RARE! Led Zep SUCKS!!!!!

  • Sadly, Michael Lee passed away on 24 November 2008. He looks like a really great drummer, identical to John Bonham, with that massive sized drumset.

  • okay we have a bloody hospital patient on rythem.. a pirate on bass.. and jesus on the digeridoo.. but other than that FUCKING AMAZING VERSION xD

  • I hate the Digitech Whammy!

  • He changed the song, no key riff, BUT DAMN IT'S FRIGGING GREAT!!!!!! NICE solo by anyone's standard at 1:30 never mind for a dude nearing 65!!!!!!!!

  • It's not a reunion without Jonesy!

  • @scartissue94 It's a dirty reunion.

  • @scartissue94 I think this is from Plant & Page: No Quater?

  • @The12Child

This was from the1995 American Music Awards.

  • @scartissue94 and JB(John Bonham)!!!!!

  • @scartissue94 Or zombie Bohnham!

  • robert, what happened to your voice?

  • @giovannipasinetti

Give'em a break, the guy is well into his sixties-probably in his upper 40s here. Sounds pretty good to me considering his age.

  • @giovannipasinetti

    He got older.

  • Black Dog with his ass on fire!! Great version!!

  • what pedal is he using to make his sound bounce up and down?

  • what is that suppose to mean ' RARE VIDEO " It's all over the place

This is off of Page, Plant No Quarter DVD

  • @2222stripes no es vdd!! yo tengo el DVD y no esta este video, =S!!!

  • Sounds awesome, but did he forget the riff or something? Still amazing either way.

  • Some kind of foretaste before the 2007 event! ?!

LOL WTF !!! THAT IS SO WRONG

  • this version is fuckin hot!

  • Geile Neuauflage, man muss sich erst ´mal reinhörn, aber dann ...

  • i still think jimmy page is fucken hot

  • Coverdale /Page version kicked way more ass then this weird version. Drummer was great though. I don;t understand Why the other Guitarist was there. Since when does Page need backup.

  • That drummer died recently too bad great drummer!

  • How can it be a reunion? theres only 2 of them on this ?????

  • The 120 who dislike this vidio...Fuck off

  • The best thing to do with this rendition is to remove it immediately.

  • @GeorgeCassells This version kicks ass...and someone should kick yours for suggesting it be removed lol

    I'm votin' your ass DOWN...

  • Oof! Self inflation of Self-indulgence! If I were to go see a Led Zep tribute band in a bar and they would play Black Dog like that I would get on stage and punch them in the face!

  • Haha shit, it sounds like an 80's rock band covering the song.

  • Jimmy's guitar don't play, SING!

  • god damn look at page

  • who else but Zeppelin could incorporate a didgeridoo in to a classic rock song like this? spectacular. : )

  • @decdetdes2 Men at Work and Goanna do it pretty well. I wont lie, Robert Plant singing live is annoying, and this versionis a real kick in the teeth to the original.

  • @Utubeisreallyshit. i know so many people are not crazy about this version. it is definitely different. i think i like all the various elements of it: the syncopated rhythm, the didgeridoo (!) and again, the killer drummer --- i will try to find and listen to the other versions you mentioned. thanks, for the information. [btw. happy new year!]

  • the drummer with the incredible ability and showmanship was Michael Lee --- such fun to watch! he was obviously having the most fun on stage that day/night.

  • @nathan13is13 I know that. I'm talking about the fact that they should've just let it go when Bonham died. I should've specfied future tense about that. Sorry.

  • tears for plant voice...page with no sharpnes....but they are still mine...:)

  • Plant never had a voice for live shows. He blew his out early in his career, & who wouldn't, singing that high with no falsetto? I'm sorry, but this sucks. Son or no son, Bono Sr. is the only drummer for this band.

  • I'm so sorry that Robert has lost his wonderful voice... what a pity

  • This Page and Plant, not the led reunion, ffs I'm so sick of badly researched tagging.

  • That drummer is having the time of his life up there..

  • i think they forgot to call JPJ
