  • ~My parents loved these guys and so do I. I remember watching the VHS of this concert with them so many times. This song means so much to me. My mother died when I was 6 on August 5th, 1986. As far as I'm concerned, this song was done in her honor.~ <3

  • you won't find talent like this on pop idol or america's got talent

  • @stopthesoftkill No you won't.

  • I can't say why but this is my favorite song by these guys. I think the studio version is absolutely great and this would be but it's not loud enough. way too short a song .. there are other months, you know?

  • A beautiful 'sincere," look on Art's face throughout the song, but especially at the very end.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • No one beats Simon and Garfunkel

  • God, I was there. First visit in NY and the US, and I just walked right into Central Park. Yes, the loose joints, it is all true. Wonderful atmosphere, peace in the air, and a huge crowd, unforgettable. My parents at the time preferred to go on the top of the World Trade Center, I was bit scared of that building. What would happen if this thing came down? But at that time, nobody would have thought that. Peace was in the air, peace. Thanks Paul, thanks Art. I had the time of my life.

  • the true minstrels of our times. i have had their songs close to me all my life. even from as far away as here.

  • Que musica linda... eleva o nosso pensamento longe/longe... que delicia ouvi-la...

  • Art, if you are reading this, I just want you to know your music has meant so much to me through the years. The first time I heard your voice, I was 12 years old. The song Bridge Over Troubled Water stopped me in my tracks, literally. To this day, (40 years later), your voice still moves me and brings me to tears. To me, there could be no voice in heaven or earth that could sound more beautiful or move me the way yours does. May God bless and keep you always!

  • An amazing short song-caught my teenage angst over not being my objects point of affection. But screw her, anyway. I'm not always nice.

  • beautiful! bravo! bellissimo!

  • I was born in 1981 and love Simon and Garfunkel. However, there's no need to shoot down music today. Every era has its beautiful music - you just need to know where to look :)

I think this is one of my most favorite song of theirs. How I wish I could have been at this concert :(

  • Their music will never die... They represented an unforgettable era... Sometimes I'd like to be born in the '60 years

  • Adoro estas voces y ahora con el paso del tiempo se las he pasado a mi hijo adolescente que le encantan.

  • He has a beautiful singing face.

  • Beautiful Love you Simon and Art ... :)

  • Learn Kids... Now this is Music, not the crap you listen nowadays

  • This is so beautiful.

  • One of their earlier fantastic songs and one of my favorites!

  • Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I feel so blessed to have grown up with the likes of these two and so many others of our time, when music was such a different experience than it s today. I almost feel sorry for those who came after us. My children LOVE the music of my generation. I suspect our grandchildren will also.

  • @Krazede Yes .. :)

  • Art Funkel: white guy with an Afro.

  • can you imagine the chills that garfunkel got while he sung that?

  • Oh if music were the same :( songs like this grip the deepest cuts in human emotion.

  • Possibly the most soothing song I've ever listened to. I loved them when I was 12 yrs old and even more at 53, TY for posting.

  • Brilliant !!!

  • What a voice!

  • Omitting a word can make wonders.

The original version: "July she will fly/ AND give no warning of her flight."

The Central Park version: "July she will fly/ Give no warning to her flight."

At first future, later on imperative, but what a difference!Thank you very much for this ambiguity.

  • @pavlina102 I think he sang the "and", only swallowed it a little, but I like your logic.

  • I made -out with a great lady to this song I think I was 14...great lady, song, and memory

  • I think he really had one of the best male voices.

The voice is like an angel's voice, honestly - at least when he was younger.

  • This could possibly be Art Garfunkel's favorite song. Look at his face at the end of the video...

  • rockyracune..The songs from this era have yet to be matched. Ballads like this define the lives of many of us who lived those times. Maybe this generation will surprise us with something that comes close.

  • I doubt there will ever be music this good again. The record companies are too selfish to care about releasing good music today- and trust me there is a lot of it. They're own concerned with what will sell to the public- an audience more ignorant, uninformed, and possibly unintelligent than ever- who will never again be able to recognize the difference between beautiful music and crap that was slapped together in a few minutes to make money.

  • Very pretty, I haven't heard this one before. Sometimes all I want to listen to is Simon & Garfunkel. Okay all the time lately. :)

  • This is one of the prettiest songs ever recorded. Even now, it is so much better than the crap that passes as music nowadays. Ludakris or Simon and Garfunel?

  • great song great video

  • Who cares what they look like. Why worry about such meaningless crap? If you went blind would it matter what people looked like? The music is unbelievably beautiful, that's all that matters.

  • What a soothing beautiful song

I could listen to it 4 ever :)

  • You would go mad after about 5 hours

  • What can I say to add to what all you very intelligent, discerning people have already said. These two were two halves of a whole. Paul is an unparalleled modern day musical genius and Art has the voice of an angel. We are so lucky to have grown up with the incredible music they gave us. I have never tired of hearing them.

  • Sorry, this is unrelated and I don't mean to attack Art, but what's up with his hair? He's clearly not balding, since nowadays he has the same hairstyle, but if he's not balding then why is his hair so far up?

  • it's called style. get some.

  • I'm not attacking his hair, idiot. I was just wondering.

  • april come she will

  • april come she will

  • april come she will

  • Awesome song.

  • Now that ladies and gents, is a beautiful voice! What an amazing song, lyrics are a amazing and as it relates to the plot of The Graduate.

  • I think its based on a nursery rhyme?

  • Simon & Garfunkel, two of the best musicians ever, so beatyful and plesent to listen to.

    Thank you both.

  • I was there. I was 11. :p

  • What a song! It sends shivers.

  • 19 de septiembre, yo tenía 12 años, ahora 27 años después lo veo...los conocí oyendo la banda sonora de "el graduado" a los 7...gracias.

  • I don't think that voice can be matched by anyone.

  • love this song! his voice and this song is so beautiful. <333

  • such an angelic voice.

    i love Art forever.

    =)

  • Couldn't said it better myself... So unbeliveably beautiful - he makes the angels cry.

  • HolzCozz=No Art Garfunkel cant be gay,hes been happpily married forever to one woman. But you are known as the worlds biggest Pole Smoker with the gag reflexes that used to make even Linda Lovelace blush.

  • Beautiful! Just beautiful. Such good melody...and the voice. WOW!

  • Still play live in central park regulary. LOVE IT !! :)

  • They do? How often do they play in Central Park?

  • every FRiday at 3pm.

  • yah right... I wish lol

  • hahaha .... see you

  • I didn't mean likely weekly obviously. I'm not fucking stupid. What I meant is if they got together often for reunion concertsm possibly in Central Park. Apprarently you guys found it funnier to make me look like an idiot. Thanks.

  • Sorry my friend,I was only joking .

I would be happy to see you and all this friends in that concert.

    take care my friend

  • THE most beautiful piece of poetry ever set to music.

  • you can see Garfunkel's pensivity as he completes the song, as if he is hurting with the lyrics; and he quietly thanks the audience for that moment together.

I can't get over this piece.

  • Yeah, that's very nice, his voice is beautiful, but it is still the work of Paul Simon. He is the man that should be admired.

  • is that you Paul?!???!?!?! PLEASE STFU. Artie is a beautiful man, quit being so damned petty Paul/Paul fan. Everyone knows Paul wrote the damned thing. But Art makes it come alive. HE makes it sound beautiful. What don't you understand about the fact that SIMON and GARFUNKEL wouldn't be without BOTH?!?! They're two parts of a whole. Jeez.

  • BOTH can be admired. :( Artie is an incredible singer, beautiful voice, beautiful soul. Not a vindictive bone in his body, unlike some people.

  • Well said!!!

  • I meant to say "as it is sung" .....

  • the poignant intensity and beauty of the song as it is sang is emotionally overwhelming. this is pure genius.

  • Paul didn't write the words. He put an old nursery rhyme to music. But you can't beat Art's gorgeous voice!

  • He wrote some of the words, building it around the rhyme. The lines with seasons in them "April come she will. May she will stay, June she'll change her tune," etc.,are from the original rhyme, but as far as I know, the lines between them are Simon's. Kind of like how in Scarborough Fair/Canticle, the "canticle" was written by him.

Also, Paul Simon's lines change the meaning of the song, as I believe the original song is actually about a cukoo bird (as someone else already said).

  • essa dupla cantavam muito

  • wonderful - I always thought this was an old folk song about a cuckoo

  • Hey Art is the man goin to see him in glasgow concert halls in october lookin forward to it ! :)

  • Lol. My name is April and I was born in April. April 25th. :PPP

  • Art garffunkels voice,Paul Simons Lyrics create endless Magic!

  • I think it's interesting that this song is about, as reclusivesage put it, "the fleeting nature of a lover's interest" yet the mood of the music never changes.

  • I wonder what McCartney/Lennon would have done with it...

  • thanks for posting this.I love this.

This song shows us one love story from the beginning to the end.

  • Still a wonderful voice. Truly amazing.

  • heavenly vocals!

  • Beautiful song! Simple, perfect melody, and great lyrics.

  • august, die she must, what a incredible song... can't get enough of it

  • this will be my wedding song :) i hope...

  • It's a beautiful song, but it's about the fleeting nature of a lover's interest. Are you sure that's the tone you want to set for your marriage?

  • wow same fucking idea - first thought i had when i heard it.

  • Paul Simon, America's best songwriter...only guys better were named John and Paul, from Liverpool

  • Brian Wilson was not chopped liver. Simon is a master, though

  • ohhh memories...

  • First song I ever learned to play on guitar.

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever written...

  • This and Bridge Over Troubled Water...

  • yes

  • Grew up with S&G,still brill after all these years even my daughter is a great fan

  • The graduate, for me,the best memory through their songs about life when i was kid.

  • nothing change, one of my fav

  • April Come She Will...

  • Ever since I first heard these guys back in the 60s I have been bowled over by the quiet, subtle, beautiful combo of words and melody. There will never be anyone like S&G

  • AGREE 100%

  • someone sang this to me on guitar back in 1971 before he left to go to uni he made me cry as he was so cool with his goodbye,I carried a torch for him a long time.

  • Reminds me of Spring...the return of the swallow and cuckoo to Europe, the end of Winter. Unfortunately, the Spring fades away and the swallows leave again. The mayfly lives for one day in Spring and dies on the lakes of Ireland. So, Paul, what lyrics, what guitar playing what a song..and Art, such a voice. This song of Spring and love will live forever.

  • love your comments yeah this music and nature go hand in hand.loved them then and still feel the same.

  • Springtime is a hope, and the longer you live the more you know it will be there even in the depths of winter, and it pulls you through.

The song is awesome. I think I'll get some Simon and Garfunkel CDs soon!

  • Not got the same memories but this song can make me cry

  • gota tell u people..this is cool music..ima hip hop..rock fan..and this is beter than all that..this is how music should be =)...amazing

  • good to hear you say that

  • i love your input... and i love people who come to realize that music should be this way. its real music... no noise.

  • J'aurais aimé être là. Wow, c'est magique!

  • This is REAL music, these guys are awesome...

  • true art!!

  • I use to sing this to my last girlfriend.. she was beautiful and i miss her..

  • Art Garfunkel still sounds like this...he is amazing....he never ages

  • Does anyone have video of "Something so Right" with ART GARFUNKEL on vocal. They did it at Auckland that way in world tour. The number stole the show!

  • so they hate each other?!?!?!?

  • i think its more that they agree to disagree

  • I am sure their relationship and friendship is one of the most important one in their lives.they did music together wich has salways been full of Love.songs that still find new hearts..nothing else matters to me as a musiclover.

  • Think disaffected graduates and unhappy married older women...

  • conheci esta musica pelo filme a "a primeira noite de um homen" ou "The Gratuete" e me apaixonei é de mais...

    Muito Bom

  • Fantastic tune!

    Jim

  • Double thanks for the video...Art is phenomenal.

  • I could not agree more........

  • Art Garfunkel's voice is just magic.

  • Now thats Art!!

  • thank you Paul and Artie! For your songs!! They make me happy!

  • A most beautiful voice, great guitar playing and beautiful poetry. Thank you Paul and Artie. You are legends.

  • While Paul wrote all the songs, Art had the heart and the talent of a first-rate singer.

  • and thats unfortunately why they hated each others guts - both resented the other for what they didnt have instead of just being glad about their seperate talents

  • Could we for one teeny moment be pleased they had the guts to patch it up...?

    Helen

  • they havent patched it up when they perform even recently they dont ever interact or even look at each other at all the entire time theyre onstage Its purely business

  • breaks my heart...

  • Art is so sweet, he seems so modest when he is standing there singing. Thank you so much for uploading!

  • THX FOR PUTTING THIS HERE !!
