Fab'd up a custom flange out of scrap metal and 1/2" threaded pipe to accept a lawn mower filter off the shelf at Canadian Tire. (not shown in this vid)
I have 2 of these Keystones..and I saw another one here in Los Angeles a year ago. None of them are marked with any tags or logos at all? Who is Keystone? Both of mine were originally light green in color with white fenders, 6"dia number plates welded between the fork tubes just below the handlebars. I smoothed the welds on one and painted it yellow...the other is still stock.
Google Keystone and you'll find a perfectly restored example with accompanying information about Keystones. I'd link to it, but Youtube won't allow it.
The clutch is a typical 10-tooth Comet (3/4" keyed shaft).
The original rear sprocket (worn out) had 72-teeth. I went to the local equipment store and bought a blank gear with 60 teeth. The center hole was a hair bigger than original, and I had to drill four mounting holes (using the original as a template).
The roller chain is #35 (as are the gears of course)
I can accelerate away much more effectively now (instead of just popping wheely after wheely!).
It's not overpowered if it's a tecumseh. but briggs in the other hand yes it would be overpowered

Do you think you could tell me the gear ratio and the rear wheel diameter? Thanks!

6" Wheels.

Thanks, I have one more question-Where did you pick up the clutch?
benthekahn 3 years ago
Princess Auto. It's an industrial type hardware store here in London, Ontario.
They can also be found online for about $30 here:
