Looks like a great project. The thing that gets me is why you would go to the effort of the laser cutting of the diamond pattern. Why not tie a sturdy long Turk Head Knot?
@HrafnNordhri I had to look 'Turk Head Knot' up, but I like it! Definitely going on a future project. I now have my own engraving/sandblasting tools and can do much of what I couldn't on this project.
Beautiful Hiking Spear. The end cap is called a "plumb" btw. I love the idea of carving designs into the wood. Celtic Design would make it very authentic and absolutely beautiful!

@BoristheDragon It is still a pendulum, a a plumb bob is just a type of pendulum just as a Tanto, dagger and bowie are all types of knives.
