Songs are not in cdda format on the playstation or saturn version, they use the sound chips provided by the console, the reasons why it has to load all the time, because theres no buffer system in place for the special moves some select sounds or fatalities. The reason why there is no buffer system in place is that the game is programmed to be run from rom chips.

Are you playing this on a PAL Playstation? because if you are then that would explain the slow audio & gameplay, PAL runs 17.5% slower than NTSC although this is probably running even slower with it not been designed to run on PAL systems.

I wonder why MKII-PS1 was only released in Japan?

Maybe it's slower because he got a Japanese copy (NTSC) and he's on PAL? PAL = 50fps, NTSC = 60fps. This means the game would only play at 5/6 speed.

I think that the music in PS1 is no slower because i played this version (in a normal PS1 console) and the music plays at the normal speed (i say a little fast). respect with the another music thing is the same of sega saturn and pc version because i have all music tracks from this version (PS1) but i dont see some tracks that i have in the real game.

I have both the saturn and playstation versions, and I prefer the playstation version hands down. Saturn version is missing almost all the voices whereas the ps1 version has most of them.

Your music is slower paced, but on my ps1 the music is normal speed. must be a ps2 problem

Some of that artwork is actually also included in the UK Sega Megadrive version - such as the Kharacter bios and full all-Kombatant pic.

The Mega Drive version cheat was L,D,L,R,D,R,L,L,R,R :)

Just looks like they've taken a lot of shortcuts to finish this version.

Although I have versions on PC, PS2 and PS3, I will always go back to Sega =)

Get the SATURNS version rather, it's a little better in every way. Promise you. Faster loading, Higher quality music, Better controller D-pad....Slightly better graphics. But it's easy to get mk2 for Saturn and I suppose the point of this is to show a pretty rare ps1 game. I have both so thats just what I think, In fact technically I know I'm right about the differences.

I believe this only came out in JAP because Sega had the exclusive for MK 2 for the USA and UK market. Well at least for the 32 bit systems. (Sega Saturn and 32X)

Those drawings in the manual were actually in the western release, in Mortal Kombat II for the Genesis you got those drawings in the sega manual too, I got to say Khan looked a bit different with out his pimped out helm. Seemed like an ok game this version. Why haven't you done a Saturn review? That one had good graphics

Yeah people keep saying they were in the manual, the reason I have not seen them is Australia had these cut-down shithouse cheap manuals. It was just blue print on white paper usally without the artwork.
