we all know she doesn't sound now as she did back then, but she still can sing, she just gotta find the right songs for her voice, but i wonder how she feels or how it would feel to look back and hear her what she used to be able to do with her voice and know how some ppl still expect for her to be able to do that and not being able to deliver or just to live with the fact that you cant do the things you used to be able to do...i know its gotta hurt, at least sometimes.

I believe a great deal of her vocal ability remains within her, somewhere. WH has to go "inside" and find it. That's the next journey she needs to take. fantastic! her voice will never be what it was before the drugs killed it, but maybe if she stays off them and works with what she's got left, maybe she can have the kind of change elton john did in his later career. many people like his voice even more now than when he was young. if whitney realizes she can't hit the big high notes anymore and embraces her lower timbre, moving forward would be much easier. elton john had a huge career even after his voice went through the 'change'

Her voice was best during the Bodyguard. She was always good, but you can hear the growth and maturity in her early 90's stuff. It's was a richer sound. Then, she started smoking & it was all down hill from there.
You know Chaka's voice survived (maybe was restored) after years of drug abuse...maybe (hopefully) whitney's voice will return to it's former brilliance.

Madonna has a stable mind and the highest grossing concert of any solo artist in history that takes a lot of mental, physical and spiritual stability. Although, I can really see where your coming from, I don't know if talented people have more issues than others or some prodigiously blessed individuals use it in their art and some allow it to destroy them. Madonna is a very smart businesswoman and knows what people want. That is why she has been able to re-invent herself so many times. That is what separates her from other sluts like Britney. But Madonna doesn't show amazing talent in one of the following areas - Singing, instrument playing or songwriting. Bob Dylan was a genius songwriter, Whitney Houston was a genius singer and Stevie Wonder was a genius instrument player. Madonna is a genius of nothing musically.
Other geniuses - Paul McCartney, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Aretha Franklin. I'm sorry but in terms of musical talent, Madonna doesn't compare to these people. But she has a better business savy than most of them. That is her talent - Marketing and understanding how to adapt to changing times.

Her voice was best during the Bodyguard. She was always good, but you can hear the growth and maturity in her early 90's stuff. It's was a richer sound. Then, she started smoking & it was all down hill from there.

Madonna is a very smart businesswoman and knows what people want. That is why she has been able to re-invent herself so many times. That is what separates her from other sluts like Britney. But Madonna doesn't show amazing talent in one of the following areas - Singing, instrument playing or songwriting. Bob Dylan was a genius songwriter, Whitney Houston was a genius singer and Stevie Wonder was a genius instrument player. Madonna is a genius of nothing musically.
