I thought the borg were very frightening just in the fact they had no feelings and that they were very efficient. They were truly unstoppable and the crew was indeed helpless til Q saved the day. I liked "First Contact but loathed the new "Zombie" borg.. Just the idea of the borg should have scared movie audiences but I'm sure executives at Paramount wanted the borg to look more evil somehow.

Thanks for this little bit of nostagia. I can remember being a kid in West Texas at the time when the series came out. And, after each episode, I would eagerly anticipate the whole "Next time on Star Trek: The Next Generation" segment. This brings back major memories. Thank you.
