The first time I had an Islay scotch was Lagavulin, on a beach, and I took a big huge gulp and almost died.
In another one of your videos you mention taking small sips. Never is this more important than with these peaty scotches (unlike with Irish whiskey which you can practically chug - which gets me and others into trouble).
The alcohol and the peat together are potent combination and a little goes a long way.
I really love Laphroaig and Lagavulin. But you have to respect them.
Excellent explanation. Thank you.

The first time I tasted a peaty whisky (Laphroaig 10 year), it was so overwhelming it actually made me feel woozy. Now I'm obsessed with it!
