I remember this testcard as if it were yesterday. In Summer 1980, or maybe 1981 we could receive it from Italy, due to exceptionally good propagation in that period! Can someone tell me somethong about the reception of Italian or other mediterranean VHF TVs in Sweden in the same period?
Wow! Thank you! I had to remember those faraway days I received so many band 1 TV stations here in Lower Saxony, Germany in the early 1990ies. And I enjoyed remembering...
Very nice clip, shame Sweden is now all digital tv :-/
Is this VHF or UHF reception ?
I read Sweden has got one VHF digital Multiplex ? Is it possible to receive digital dxtv ? I'm guessing its much more difficult ? Once again, a nice clip, thankyou for upload.
Yes, SVT has completley left VHF and has closed all analogue transmissions. Sweden will maybe return on VHF in the future but only in digital mode. I'm not fond of digital mode.
It's a song called "På semester" by a group called "Pontus & Amerikanerna", one of many similar melodic pop groups that were active in the early 1990s.
The song was released in 1993, so the testcard has to be from 1993-1995.
It was many time agoo and in the tape i have write 2001 but i don't remember really when i have write and so it may be also not correct. I'm sorry if this information isn't correct.
Kanal 1 changed name in 1996 to SVT 1, and the testcard was also re-designed for the change. Use the URL from above and replace xUcCsOilGoE with DNnz-txVgoM.
Congratulations for this nice reception ! 5 stars, it's TV-history now, because Sweden already has digitalized completely. Looking forward for next sporadic-e season in 2008 - hopefully with testcard ! :-) Which channel of SVT 1 did you receive? Former VHF-1 transmitters: - E2 Örebro - E2 Vännäas - E3 Skoevde - E3 Sveg - E4 Östersund - E4 Älvsbyn - E4 Stockholm All tx ignited 60kW into air except of Östersund: 100kW (source & list: Norbert Kaiser) GD DX and 73s, Mathias Volta
Thanks, i'm sorry but i don't know what transmitter i have received. Many thanks also for information of the DVB-T. In next mounths i beleave that come back the sporadic-e and i will try if is it possible to receive DVB-T DX. I have used a GP for 6m that is good for this band.

Hi, this signal was received on VHF low , 1° band (channel 1-2-3-4) freq. near 6m amateur band. I have used a GP antenna for 6m band.
I never try to receive the digital signal... may be that there aren't digital signal on VHF low .

Sweden has only DVB-T on UHF but there will be DVB-T on VHF in the future, but not now.

Yes its right!
Both Sweden and Finland has closed its vhf totally when they closed analogue.
Howerver in Sweden they will maybe take the vhf back but will transmit in HD...dvb t2 mpg4...not the standard dvd t mpg2....
However no body knows what happen...I have even heard they maybe close totally and only broadcast via sattelite, kabel and other media.

Are you sure, that this is recorded in 2001? SVT1 + 2 replaced this testcard in 1999 with a testcard designed for digital tv.

Kanal 1 and TV2 was renamed to SVT1 and SVT2 respectively in 1996, and SVT1 did not send testcards anymore, but SVT2 still did it.
