I can't believe how many people call him stupid for not having a map. His goal was to go into an area without a map and live off the land. What... he'd get out there, pull out a map, and then just turn around because he failed as soon as he looked at a map? He had every right to follow his dream and goal. I suppose someone could argue that he should've have started with some smaller outings, but what would be the point? He had a dream and he followed it. Get over it.

He was inspiring, but stupid. Had he only brought with him proper supplies and a map, he would have lived. Only 1.4 mile from a bridge over the river that stranded him. Plus he should not have smoked his moose, but air dried the meat into thin slices. Alaska is unforgiving. Tragic story.

@hmj211 It's lower because I used Audacity to change the tone to get around the coyright. Youtube uses a program to recognize copyrighted material and they will block your vid if it recognizes it.
