If any of you jackarses read the journel instead of watching the movie you would know that he wasn't free, the movie's good but over exaggerated a lot. And left out a lot of key moments of his life. "Chris is NAIVE in the beginning of his journey, but when he gets put in a situation that hes not in control over, he finnaly comprehends his meaning of existence!"
All of us have a meaning in our tiny little pointless lifes. All our decisions in life are insignificant, but it is important that we make those decisions in our lifes.
RIP Chris, I know wherever you are your warm, and your belly is full, no doubt you weep for us, but hey cant have everything right ?
Thanks for the song Ed, goosebumps man, every time, this song cuts straight to the core of my being. I will never forget this song, and how it makes me feel to listen to it, and think about the things Eds talking about.
The humanbeen is able to do much more than we know. No one has ever said life is easy, but all it takes is the curage to start listening to yourself and stop doing what other people tell you to do.
Why do you all think we were born in this world?
When you find yourself as a part of the nature, of everything...
And don't send some bullshit in your defence saying he was stupid for killing himself with the berries he ate blah blah blah, i know the motherfucking story...his naive outcome that related to his death had nothing to do with the type of person this man was. He was realistic, he was an amazing person.
Hey dumbarse he didn't die from food poisoning. Don't take offense to a strangers side (Thats who he is to you and I and everyone else) Read a the book. No one knows for sure how he died. Sean Penn over exaggerated on everything.
@Aurabolt127 No you miss the entire point jackass. He's my hero because he has inspired me to reject greed and worthless shit that you eat by the spoonful but I wouldn't expect a halfwit troll like you to understand such "complex" things as this.
@ROTTIMAN31 I seriously dislike people like you. Inspired? By Chris?Enlighten me! He'd probably laugh at you and tell you to go f*** yourself. The guy was selfish yet selfless. His story is left up for interpretation, so feel free to be inspired. By your use of the word, "troll" im assuming your an interweb type who knows absolutly nothing about how to survive. You'll be inspired by anything thats inspiring, But see if you can actually do something with that inspiration, I challenge you to.
@Aurabolt127 you mentioned the simplistic idiotic point of view for someone who doesn't understand the story....maybe you should follow in his footsteps.
I can't believe how many people call him stupid for not having a map. His goal was to go into an area without a map and live off the land. What... he'd get out there, pull out a map, and then just turn around because he failed as soon as he looked at a map? He had every right to follow his dream and goal. I suppose someone could argue that he should've have started with some smaller outings, but what would be the point? He had a dream and he followed it. Get over it.
I just typed "aura boreal" in google and it showed up, then i looked for similar images and find out that it's a wallpaper called "song of the sky". Glad to help you.

He was inspiring, but stupid. Had he only brought with him proper supplies and a map, he would have lived. Only 1.4 mile from a bridge over the river that stranded him. Plus he should not have smoked his moose, but air dried the meat into thin slices. Alaska is unforgiving. Tragic story.
@van1980 I wouldn't say he was stupid, naive yeah but definately not stupid. He was right to smoke the meat but he didn't do it correctly and if you try to air dry your meat at the wrong time you might be left with nothing but bones and fly fecies. lol
@vgamepuppy1 Really? Read his journal. I admire his spirit and awareness of the artificiality of society, but he wasn't prepared in Alaska, and it's unforgiving.
stupid is a harsh word ... maybe we're used to those kind of words cause we're LIVING in a harsh World ... but you're wrong in another thing, too ... CHRIS, ISN'T DEAD ...
and he will STILL LIVE looong after you and I are dead ...
@Jakupdam no you're not alone. me too, I want to make a radical change, but unfortunately, I am still too afraid sometimes of what my family would think of me (yeah...the usual stuff of family's expectations, etc)...how would you plan to get around this nagging issue man?
@nikiwonoto If you do what everyone expects of you instead of following your dreams you will end up a miserable old man and you'll constantly second guess yourself. If your family cares about your happiness then I'm sure they will understand. Sometimes you need to do what's best for you even if it means dissapointing someone. Follow your dreams not someone elses.
How come the song here is in a lower chord than the the first clip that comes up on Youtube when I do a search for "Society"? (I like yours best, of all the versions of Vedder's "Society" I've found)
I can't link it, but it's the video of this that doublebarrelbuckshot posted.

@hmj211 It's lower because I used Audacity to change the tone to get around the coyright. Youtube uses a program to recognize copyrighted material and they will block your vid if it recognizes it. If you get too many warnings they will close your account....shhhh .....don't tell anyone. lol just kidding. Thanx glad you liked it.
best song nature is Pure ! you should come visit my island not a lot to offer but its a nice place ! when i get my car i wanna travel to differnt Nations !
A definite inspiration to many. The movie, a true-life drama, is a MUST SEE for those who haven't seen it yet. I found it to be very engrossing and very powerful---a beautiful tragedy. (A brilliant performance by Emile Hirsch portraying Christopher McCandless under the direction of Sean Penn.) I enjoyed every aspect of your tribute and have put it up as my featured vid in hopes that even more people can enjoy it.
hi jeff, i haven't seen this movie yet! i do know the story behind it however.. this is a great song.. i often wish i could brave the elements and leave "it all behind" like mccandleless.. i am so pleased that you got inspiration from his story.. i think you are following an amazing dream! eddie vedder also did a remake of the song "hard sun" by Canadian band 'Indio' for this film.. i will send it to you! thumbs up! thank you:)

@ROTTIMAN31 Thank you for pointing me to this program.
But how did you lower the chord range--what command did you ask for--without distorting Vedder's voice?
I tried this with another song, taking it from F major down to, like, C minor...changed the singer's voice.
