  • featuring a soundtrack by nickleback

  • I love this game. plus the soundtrack kicks ass! Old Static-X for the win!

  • Panzer Dragoon on the Sega Saturn can't measure up to the graphical quality found in this game.

  • Why didn't I hear about this before???!!!

  • Gran turismo's polyphony digital waaaht

  • what band and song is that at the end of this video

  • @dickman9000 it is Fly by Loudmouth

  • who HASN"T seen robotech. wasn't it the first anime to come to america?

  • Older games FTW

  • REZ TRANCE VIBRATOR !!!!! I SHOVE IT UP MY PUSSY NOW :)

  • Could you say this is from the makers of Gran Turismo?

  • The main character's voice sounds like Tom from Toonami. :)

  • Need to find this game :)

  • you should listen to the Japanese version the soundtrack it's feeder's shade it was a lot better just because of the different soundtrack but this one is also good but hands down Japanese version kicked ass

  • One of the most Addictive games i have ever played

  • So nostalgic, cutscenes kick ass.

  • This is a good enough reason for me to buy a ps1

  • i remember this game me and my cousin used to play it when we were like 4. legendary game i was playing just now in fact :P

  • I loved this game back in the day, the boss fight where you destroy an enormous flying fortress was so epic.

  • Space Balls!

    Ha ha ha!

  • Do they have this game on the PS3 store? like the Final Fantasy7. Would be nice to experience this game once more >.< epic game.

  • colony wars too.

  • great game

  • Sequel on PS3? Screw the PS3, bring it out on the Playstation!

  • This game looks awsome!

  • Sequel on PS3 please!

  • it looks like zone of the enders.

  • @nuclearXXsoldier1 Wrong. ZoE looks like Omega Boost.

  • @nuclearXXsoldier1 Wrong. ZoE looks like Omega Boost.

  • Steve Blum is everywhere lol

  • i need this game! i'll pay even 100$

  • got this when it 1st came out and still own it. still my fave intro to any game ever. cheers for sharing it with everyone.

  • mark can i be the replacement of dave

  • its funny how you mentioned GT2 because the guys who developed this also developed the GT series!

  • I used to have this game, my fragmented memories brought forth ideas that i would never see the game again because i had forgotten its name.

I am glad you made this review.

    Cheers

  • My God. PLEASE GET THIS ON PSN!

  • OMG, I found somebody that loves ROBOTECH, how fucking awesome am not the only one. Robotech could be the biggest Mecha Anime of the fucking History & its is for me.

  • somebody failed in missel comand on 6:54

  • Why do people sometimes call the PS the PSX?

  • @orionpax55 "PS-X (PlayStation Experimental) was an internal code name for the PlayStation during development." - Wikipedia

  • @orionpax55 PS1 refers to the fact that the PS1 was the "portable" slim version of the first playstation. (A friend of mine used to have a ps1) Therefore, the original playstation is ALWAYS properly referred to as the PSX, to deter confusion (That wikipedia article referred to below is wrong BTW, playstation experimental reveals the actual name of the console, and would never be used as a "code name"

  • @Stoatly1 But the wouldn't the 1 in ps1 imply that it was the first?

  • @orionpax55 It would- hence the source of confusion. You can find pictures of the PS-One model (slim version) on google, I'm sure

  • This game destroyed the sh** out of my L1 button & gave left pointer-finger cramps for DAYS...but was SOOOOO therapeutic while playing it. My left pointer finger STILL cracks from permanent damage caused by this game. Oh crap, I think I just had a Gundam-gasm...F***...I gotta go change my sh**...

  • i have beaten this on hard but i will say its tedious to constantly have the camera perspective changing every 5 seconds but once you master the lock-on system its easy..its nealry impossible to beat the final boss(snake and death angel) without playing the previous two levels flawlessly(arch nemesis mecha bot and self-destruction chamber)...but no lie the hardest level is level 4(underwater), the most annoying enemies(octopus, snake, hoppers) and a boss that requires 2 viper boosts to defeat

  • How did these two white trash morons get in space?!

  • @DocFunky

    pcp

  • @DocFunky with a microwave

  • they dint just make teh real driving simulator they made teh real mecha simulator , i remmeber playing this at a friends house and saying thats teh realist thig evar!!

  • It wasn't THAT hard, but I used the R1 button a lot to brake in place and move forward when I needed to. Easy to get the hang of, got a brand new sealed copy here to replace my old one I bought used. Old one is all scratched up.

  • Saturn rocks, yo. Underrated consoles ftw!

  • Lov this one. My copy is damaged tho gonna need a néw one

  • @Neutral1 If you can't find another copy for cheap, there is a partial solution. If the damaged disc still lets the game start loading, you can swap to a CDR copy of the game that you can download an iso of.

  • I love the old format CGR's.

  • @ethinethin: 76 episodes total. 68 are online, 3 are DVD exclusive (sort of, Notyoursavior78 ripped the episodes), and 8 are just missing.

  • nice spaceballs reference

  • so this is where the tails/robotnik gameplay in sonic adventure 2 comes from

  • The Japanese intro song was waayyy better :)

  • hell of an intro

  • It went to Ohio, and back.

  • i need some help, i had this PS1 game and you were these too cops

and these robots took over this building and you ahad too stop them if anyone knows the name of the game plz let me know

  • @bill842408 Do you remember much about the gameplay or anything else that could help identify the game? :)

  • If Treasure is somehow behind the development of this game I wouldn't be surprised.

  • Gotta say, I am now glad this game was implanted into my memories via PlayStation Underground. I wish I had picked up a copy when I had a chance. :D Badass music during the FMV sequence as well.

  • I think the one thing I loved the most about this game was the badass intro music when you started the game after the main menu. Damn, I always loved the night planet with the walkers and the worm and then doing the tunnel was always the best part. I miss it how they used to use live footage like in RE:1 and such in older games to save money :)

  • this game reminds me of Zone of the Enders

  • Badass game. A trick when fighting the Alpha Boost for the final time is when it activates the Viper Boost, just turn away from it and boost like crazy and he can't hit you.

  • OMEGA BOOST 2 FOR GOD'S SAKE!

  • @vizard175 I remember before the ps2 launch there were screenshots floating around for Omega Boost 2 but it never got released.

  • Wow that was awesome who is the actor for the pilot I swear I have heard his voice before Cowboy Bebop? no maybe could someone tell me.

  • @NexusARC That does sound just like Spike...noticed that too!

  • this is kind of how I imagine M.U.S.H.A. if it was made in 3D

  • a friend of mine used to call it Omegas Boustis

(it meants "the great fag" in greek)

  • This looks like Zone of the Enders 2 . . . or rather Zone of the Enders 2 looks like this game.

  • I just bought this game

  • Thank you, Marc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been looking for the name of this game for a long time!!!

  • Played this non stop for three days when I first got it. Had the Japanese version too and it came with a small comic strip (or a character sketch and mecha design pamphlet) with the package fold.

The reason why people see the Robotech similarities to it is cause the mech designer and intro animation director is Shoji Kawamori. The dude practically drew all those Macross mecha that every single Robotech lore and hardware is based on.

  • i still have the omega boost action figure

  • panzer dragoon a real classic!

  • Umm... Why's he holding a vacuum tube in the intro???

  • Omega Boost is AWESOME. I used to play it on my friends PSX back in 2000 but I didn't buy it for myself until 2 years ago. Could only fine one auction where it was a price I wanted it that, but it turned out to be disc only.

  • Great game :) the omega boost character looks like mech from Appleseed...

  • this game needs to be released on psn...

  • okay i like this game, but please don´t say it´s like robotech. by the way the original robotech was the MACROSS SAGA!!! For you guys every mecha/gundam game is like robotech/macross isn´t it? omg i hate so stupid people!

  • damn! sexiest graphics on ps1!!!!

  • i think this is the only game Polyphony Digital (makers of Gran Turismo series) has ever done besides GT (aside from Motor Toon Gran Prix)

  • Zone of the Enders 2 is the greatist mech game ever made.

  • YEA WHAT HE SAID!

  • If it's got walls of missiles swarming around you and Kawamori written all over it (and in the credits); I'd say it's Macross, rather than Gundam.

You obviously overslept and had your dog fed with your homework on the night before geek exams. You oughta be ashamed.

  • @mardenkarden I was referring to their reviews in general.

They said on the review for Front Mission 3 that it is like Robotech. And FM3 is NOTHING like Robotech. And in the review for FM4 and other mecha based games, the did the same.

Also, missiles indicate one thing, but in mecha comparison, this thing here is closer to a Gundam then to a Valkyrie, because these are three-type transformer, while most Gundams and this machine here are not, but humanoid machines with ray guns and missiles.

  • Comment removed

  • its zone of enders for the ps2

  • thank you....

  • is that the one you wus tlkn bout

  • Yeah so thanx...

  • I had this game on PS1 as a kid! I loved this game lol.

  • I bought this game just because it was by Polyphony! Pretty good decision in my part!

  • great job on the editing mark

  • I Fount this in a Game shop a few months ago for a tenner so i picked it up to relive my childhood :D

  • I loved that game and the sountrack is very good

  • Best graphics i've seen on the ps1

  • I second that!

  • They really need to release this one on PSN.

  • SIMPLY ONe OF THE BEST GRAPHICS ON PSX ! COOL ! AND STROOONG !!!

  • "it went to Ohio, and came back" That's hard to do. The game has to be good if it survived Ohio!

  • made by the same people who made the GT series believe it or not xD

  • Only problem I have with this game is that you CANT FIRE THAT GIANT LAZER BEAM OF DEATH!

  • Dude, fucking Polyphony Digital can push the shit out of the Playstation console. Seriously, that fucking game had smooth graphics like its on the PS2. Damn, the Sony studio knows the architecture of the console like the back of their hand.

  • lol loanstar and barf i love that movie but it didnt have hoth in it

  • This game was truely the definition of a hidden treasure. I played it forever trying to get the highest scores on the bonus missions. If only panzer dragoon was this fast paced it would be a killer game.

  • I happened upon this game by chance, and yeah that boss they said was annoying, he really is annoying still haven't beaten him because I stopped playing and I got a ps2 by then with a game called Zone of the Enders:2nd Runner

  • amazing intro!!!

  • this was the best ps1 game ive ever played

  • My friend swears this looks like some sort of gundam game whenever I play it. Whatever that means.

Great review, I love this game too.

  • they really should remake the game or have it made for the psp it looks really good the gameplay looks really awesome if they do remake it in the future I hope they add deep mech customization

make it a very long game.

  • amazing PS1 produces this kind of graphics. cause i still haven't seen a single DS games that could look as complex as this PS1 game

  • @crumcon Then you haven't played Metriod Prime Hunters for the DS. It looks as good as this.

  • lonestar and barf ha XD love spaceballs great reference

  • nice dave mentions panzer dragoon, great games!!

  • lol LoneStar and Barf

    Spaceballs FTW

  • Zentradi fleet hurr

  • Awesome game.

    ok review.

  • "Two very nice men called LoneStar and Barf."

    Oh, that's subtle. I love it ^_^

  • Good review guys, but you could do a bit more fact checking.

  • wasn't there a ps2 sequal? I think I remember seeing Omega Boost 2 in an old issue of PSM.

  • Oh, yes! this game is my all-time favorite PSX game!

  • Why is Dave no longer at Classic Game Room HD?

  • I keep asking that too.... I have no idea.... if im going to be honest, i prefer marks imputs, but Dave complemented him well so its a slight jar ¬¬

  • this game rocks!

  • This game looks pretty good. Underrated classic it appears.

  • did they ever release the music?

  • I couldn't find it, but I do have the opening theme from Loudmouth and closing credits. Bought the album.

  • lmao

  • this game was my life when i was a kid.

  • I don't know why anyone wouldn't have heard of Panzer Dragoon. I mean, if not the original, then at least the sequel on the XBOX...

  • I love that game. it just sucks how you can't open up a can of whoop-ass like the omega boost does on that ship in the beginning sequence.

  • Oh my god i loved this game. I remember playing so much of the amazing star fox game then playing this and was instantly amazed. And i really loved star fox,so it was hard to get that impressed. I wish they would make a new one. Come to think of it star fox could use a new game too.

  • you can.

  • Prove it. I've never seen anyone fire it, or read about 'how' online.

  • COOL

  • Does anybody remember a cartoon about machines that took human tissues of humans and wanted to become "perfect"?In general intersting video.

  • lol

  • i dont think you two are white trash.

  • this game does actually does remind me of project sylfeed

  • awesome

  • saturn is a gas planet. how could you party there. still very cool

  • COOl

  • love this game! I have had it for years, but have yet to beat it.

  • yo this was my game back in the day i was about 12 when this game came out i wonder how rare it is now

  • Not really rare, it is easy to get off ebay.

  • great game but it is a panzar dragoon inspired game.

  • under rated masterpeice indeed LAGERLOUT lol

  • I just bought this game :D

  • one of the true great games i still have it and break it out for my ps3 occaonally!!

  • If all these people that loved the demo had actually bought the game we might have had a sequal! I just saw a video and had to go out and buy it.

  • haha n00bs this is more like gundam than that robotech rubbish.

  • I played this when i had the demo from my ps1 mag. but i always wanted to buy it. the demo was great. but i read once bad review and never picked it up. but im liking it now.

  • Radical game review. I wish Dave was still doing game reviews with Mark.

  • dam this shit looks so much like Z.O.E 2!

  • Is this game on rail or free roam? I'm considering picking this up for $10 and was just curious as to how you move around.

  • Yeah, I can see where you had to salvage the narration track from your stream. Excellent work on the recreation Mark. Gonna see if I can find this one somewhere >.>

    Thanks again Mark.

  • i had the full game.i went out and bought it from a shop.cant understand why more peeps aint played it.guess this must go down as yet another under rated masterpiece

  • oh man i rember this game i only played the demo as a kid and never got around to buying the actual game but i loved the hell out of it ive got to buy this so i can play it on my ps2

  • un poco mas me pongo a llorar cuando vi este video , me acuerdo qe era re chiqito i qe lo jugama fon mi hermano

  • God, this game is sooo epic, i still have my copy and i pop it in every now and then :)

  • I wonder how it compares to Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 as well as Colony Wars.

  • "Leg-Dangling"=Musha. Great looking game actually. Great job remastering!

  • Sweet review as always. I really enjoyed watching it again after watching how Mark "remade" it so to speak, very cool stuff! Also loved the Spaceballs reference at the beginning. "We got picked up by 2 very nice men, Lonestar and Barf". Only gripe was Barf wasn't a man, he was a Mog, half man, half dog... He's his own best friend... Anyway hats off to you Mark, awesome stuff as always bud! :)

  • I remember playing the demo once.. What if i got the full game?

  • oh wow, this got my heart pumping, I'm going to get this game out of my closet and play it now!

The reason why I even bought this game to begin with was because Eiffel 65 mentions it in their song "my console" in which they sing about playstation games. I'm so glad I used such a dumb influence to make a purchase like this!

  • cool man, the game looks great.

  • I remember this game, it was pretty cool.

  • Definitely an underrated game!
