Is it me or do live performances out weigh music videos in the era of youtube & better electronic equipment? If I where a band today I wouldn't waste time or money making a video & instead harness your production of live performances. That's where the magic is.
I think you did a great job here. This song needs no over the top embellishments, its chilled out NiN really. One of my favs from this album and a great little live version. Well done!
ok last thing: to illustrate my point that you show what's appropriate... so you have one angle going up until "spoke to us" and then you switch to tr dead on for "felt it from inside." perfect! i've seen lots of edits now that don't include this angle for this part of the song. it's like, come on guys! that's a great little saucy move there, you've gotta show it properly! ok, i'm really done commenting now. bye!
i just want to say that i completely disagree with barroque2. i think you did a really great job incorporating the most interesting parts of what each camera's footage had to offer. i appreciate that you included footage that showed when individual band members were doing something interesting. there were closeups of trent when it was appropriate, and long shots when everybody on stage was not really moving around. you know what i want to see. :) thanks for posting!
Hey, I think your edits are pretty cool! I like them. The only feedback I can give you is I feel that you should switch cameras more. Remember that in a concert, the rhythm of the song no longer depends of the music played, but of the images you show to harmonize it.
For me, it all depends on the speed of the song and the quality of the other cameras video. They're not always the best quality and/or I'm limited to using only 2 or 3 cameras. So it gets jarring to go back and forth between the same scene/view. Slower songs and songs with more interesting backgrounds, like this one, will have longer views of the entire stage.
^^^ What she said. Some people tend to overestimate the quality of the footage. It's often shaky or blurry. For this song, one steady cam focussed on the entire stage is good enough imo.
