  • Vance is the coolest news anchor ever.

  • God, do I miss Jim Vance giving me the news

  • LMAO my man said hold on hold on ! .. he wanted to see it again

  • RIP George Michael

  • they have to be the coolest people on the news.

  • I saw this live too

  • This was on MSNBC's "Caught on Camera' last night and I was cracking up. One of those moments when you're not supposed to laugh and you just lose it. I would've liked to be in that room to see the rest of the crew's reaction!

  • That model either has the worst luck or the worst representation. Anyway, the name Jim VANCE reminds me of VANCE County, NC, near my home. The VANCE Co. seat, HENDERson, sounds like HINDERing male offspring. I was saddened to hear George Michael (492-40-3971) died. In my senior year of high school (1988-89), I’d watch the “Sports Machine” Sunday nights on WTVD (ABC ch.11 durHAM). before going to bed. Presumably, Vance’s Jim is short for JAMES, which is unrelated to the 908 RED CEDAR LN address

  • There may be a STONE CULT link: Jim VANCE paired with George Michael fits transportation themes nicely since I watched the “Sports Machine” on WTVD in durHAM—a city served by Interstate 85. VANCE County, NC borders Virginia and also has Interstate 85. While there is a JAMES associated with the 908 RED CEDAR address, traveling north on I-85 into VA soon leads to a junction with US Hwy. 58 and 58 is the transverse of 85. RED CEDAR James has in-laws in Mecklenburg County, VA, which also has US 58

  • Jim Vance’s Wikipedia page says he co-anchored the news at WRC-TV with GLENN RINKer. Surely, this is unrelated to alternative experience in the early 1990s or the 1600 UNION CROSS address, nor STAR CITY at 1131 North WESLEYan Blvd. in 27801. Also unrelated: 242-54-4062. VANCE co-anchored with Sue Simmons at WRC from 1976-80, which could remind that rapper DMX was born Earl SIMMONS in nearby Baltimore on 12/18/70 and could have grown up watching Vance. “My Name is EARL” star Jason LEE: pro SKATER

  • Falling off a pair of VIVIenne westWOOD HEELS in Paris in 2006 is unrelated to the maternal grandmother of NBA player GRANT HENRY HILL, VIVIanMcDonald (433-92-9326), who lived and died in NEW orLEANS. McDonald died in 2006--the same year this model tumbled in PARIS, linking nicely with the LOUISIANA PURCHASE from FRANCE and weirdly, cult-ishly, pockets of Louisiana being FRENCH-speaking still today. Perhaps those NEW ORLEANS ROOTS/FRENCH SURRENDER history factors in HILL coming across as a wuss

  • This model fell off a pair of VIVIenne westWOOD heels in 2006. WestWOOD was born the same day as ARLENE A. Morin (001-30-5751): APRIL 8, 1941. Morin died (Jan. 3) the same year this model tumbled in PARIS. Also born APRIL 8, 1941, but unrelated to the 1981 split or the 4949 tel. #: IRA C. Means (195-30-4724) who died the year this model tumbled in PAIRS (June 9), with a final residence in BRADford, PA. Unrelated: BRADley GUMbEL, son of TV’s bRYANt, who was born in NEW ORLEANS like older bro GREG

  • Does this fashion model's 2006 tumble off of VIVIenne westWOOD heels in PARIS link to black homophobia? At :37, said model is falling in front of a DO NOT BEND sign. With Jim Vance being a permanent fixture on the Washington D.C. scene, one has to wonder if his reporting on the district's recent political tumult gave any indication of his personal biases. What did he think of the sudden rise and fall of Mayor ADRIAN fENTY, who some residents derisively called "BENTy" (like past tense of BEND)?

  • This model falling at 2006 Fashion Week in PARIS may not link to homophobia. Still, the letters AM on the left of the screen at :16 translate to “all male” in some quarters. Said model falling in front of a DO NOT BEND sign with pyramid-like triangles forming the letters is unrelated to Egyptian mysticism. But, Vance paired with Doreen GENTzler to make D.C.’s longest-running anchor team might allow for a caveat: “If you feel compelled by nature and you absolutely, must BEND...just do it GENTly”

  • This model falling at 2006 Fashion Week in PARIS may not link to homophobia. Still, she fell off of VIVIenne westWOOD heels and WOOD has phallic connotation. Additionally, the watering can she is toting for the garden motif has an extra long, phallic extension. Unrelated: George Michael (492-40-3971) was born George Michael GIMPel and surname GIMPel begins GIMP, perhaps evoking phallic equipment that has somehow been mutilated. Michael’s final residence in DICKerson virtually completes the theme

  • A 2006 Paris Fashion Week model falling off VIVIenne westWOOD heels isn’t linked to LyDIA Diamond’s stage play “Stick Fly”, but a catwalk is a stage extension. A FRANK TURNer III review at lasplash.com (Los Angeles’ Matrix Theater) notes cast including AVERY CLYDE, John WESLEY, TerreLL Tilford. Unrelated: Tilford in “The Protector” with Ally Walker—who was Dr. Sam Waters in NBC's “Profiler”—or 242-54-4062. Tilford plays Dr. Flip LeVay, son of Dr. Joseph LeVay (Wesley), a successful neurosurgeon

  • This model falling off VIVIenne westWOOD heels at 2006 Fashion Week in PARIS isn’t linked to LyDIA Diamond’s stage play “Stick Fly”, but a catwalk is a stage extension. “Stick Fly” has Chris BUTLER as Kent LeVay & Michole Briana White as his fiancé, Taylor BRADley. Taylor to Kent about his DISAPPROVING DAD during their MARTHA’s Vinyard visit: “You’re SHRINKING. Please don’t let him turn you into a 13-year-old.” Unrelated: “falling” fashion model’s phallic watering can or genital ray beam attack

  • This model falling off VIVIenne westWOOD heels at 2006 Fashion Week in PARIS isn’t related to actor Terrell Tilford as Dr. Flip LeVay in LyDIA Diamond’s stage play “Stick Fly” at Los Angeles’ Matrix Theater in 2010. Still, Tilford stars in “The Protector” with Ally Walker, who was Dr. Sam Waters in NBC’s 1990s drama “Profiler”, which had Erica GIMPel as Angel Brown. Sports anchor George Michael GIMPel (492-40-3971) on NBC O&O WRC could evoke deformity, but not necessarily genital ray beam attack

Tilford stars in “The Protector” with Ally Walker, who was Dr. Sam Waters in NBC’s 1990s drama “Profiler”, about serial killer JACK of All Trades (his accomplice, Jill of All Trades: porn queen TRACi Lords), whose name was erroneously thought to be DONald LUCAS (MARK RolSTON), but later revealed to be ALbert NEWquay

  • He has worked for WRC-TV since 1965.

  • I still have a thing for Wendy Reiger

  • i love jim vance!

  • Mad cow disease!!!

  • I remember cracking up watching this when it happened live.

  • Channel 4 news was a time and a place...

God bless you George and HTTR!

  • Now that was funny! Maybe I should start watching channel 4 instead of channel 9?

  • OMG I didn't know he died! I used to watch him every night before I went to sleep as a child growing up out there! He was awesome no matter how boring highlights were he was always fun to listen to. Im really saddened to know he passed away :(

  • LMAO...*2

  • When NBC was making cuts, they laid off Susan Kidd. I loved her and miss her.

  • OMG!!! I saw the end of This Week on ABC when they do the memoriam. I was shocked to see that George Michael had passed. When living in Alexandria, VA I was very psyched to watch him and Jim Vance on NBC 4 work their chemistry like a Johny Carson and Ed McMahon duo. This youtube clip of you and Jim Vance will always be memorable. RIP

  • love ya george. always love the sports machine. used to stay up late just to watch it. RIP

  • aww man. this is too funny. i'm in tears. see ya george. thanks man!

  • Every day at 6:45 I made sure to catch George Michael, even if the highlights were boring, George never was. I'll miss you buddy!

  • RIP George . . . .

  • LOL! I can't bust on George or Jim because I would have been laughing just as hard as they were. RIP George. You were the best.

  • I also loved his relationship with Jim Vance. Those two cracked me up on a regular basis.

I have to say that I was sad to see him to resign from NBC-4 and I am now even sadder to see that he has passed.

Good Bye George, We ALL will miss you and you wonderful sense of humor!

  • They were like Fred and Barney.

This clip is burnt into my memory... FOR EVER.

  • RIP George.

The sports machine was the best

  • RIP George Michael

  • He's squicky laugh crack's me up :))

  • Jim Vance and George Michael are huge alcoholics

  • So what!

  • @DominoRyder So what

  • Too damn funny

  • LOLZ!! Whoever is behind the camera is the one with the sense of humor cuz he/she keeps repeating it over & over again...

  • Great point

  • Jim Vance rocks! Go DC News 4!! (LOL).

  • Hold on Hold on!

One of my favorite clips ever.

  • yeah that's good serious american journalism...

  • That is funnnnnnnyyyyyyy!

  • Jim Vance is great and George Michael will always be my fav!

  • I need to move back to DC.

  • I feel like I'd like to live there too

  • I was born in NW Washington in 1975 and remember watching Vance, Gentzler, Michaels and Ryan at 6 pm every weekday until I moved from the area in 2002. In all the states in which I have lived, no local newscast can hold a candle to this team. It is odd to say, but I truly miss them. If any are interested in the impact this newscast has had on the field of journalism, check out WRC-TV on the Wikipedia website. You will be amazed at the number of names you recognize.

  • dfdrox: I looked @ the WRC wiki page. What is on it that u say indicates that "wrc's impact on the journalism field" ?

  • Former WRC-TV employees: Campbell Brown (host of No Bias, No Bull on CNN); John Cochran (Capitol Hill correspondent for ABC News); Katie Couric (host of CBS Evening News); Steve Doocy (co-host of Fox & Friends); Robert Hager (veteran NBC News correspondent); Suzanne Malveaux (White House correspondent for CNN); Dave Marash (first anchor for Al-Jazeera English Network); Charlie Rose (host of his own show on PBS); Tim Russert (longest tenure on Meet the Press before his death last June). Impact.

  • dfd: They worked @ wrc...& so? They've all moved on & r still in media fields. Of them all Id say Katie is most hi profile but bc of her being on that horrid Today show not bc she is 1st lady anchor of evening news.

Also, what happened to Susan Kidd? Has she retired from all media?

  • Jim Vance was my FAVORITE when I lived in the D.C. area.

  • Vance is a legend! He was one of Ed Bradley's (60 minutes) closest friends.

  • DC legend and we've had some great anchors

  • I think his name is Jim Vance, I love his stuff... talk about one cool brotha!!! LOL.

  • Yes, his name is Jim Vance. He has been at Channel 4 for a loooong time and has seen many others come and go. I have nothing but props for the man.

  • All the time I lived there(1994-96), I still remember Jim Vance above all the other newscasters.

  • It's an extra 20 seconds on this clip that is funny as hell too. But this clip stops at 1:10, still funny as hell even though it was cut short.

  • I'm living in DC right now and I watched this guy the other night. I love him!

  • DC News legend...Jim Vance.

I also miss George Michaels...even though rumor has it he's not a nice guy.

  • "first of all baby i got enough meat on me that it's alright"

  • what a fuckin laugh!! X^D

  • I love Jim Vance!

  • Yea Jim is a kool dude... you saw him at Lima??? I like that place the time i went there

  • That's my favorite news channel in the DC area. I'm born and raised there. I love those guys!

  • seitz: Does any1 know where is Susan Kidd now? She was fired in 2k6 due to budget cuts after 23 yrs. Is she still in DC?

  • I miss her and liked her. Why did they choose her instead of one of the other anchors?

  • davinP: yea WHERE IS SHE? Others who were fired go to other channels. But I havent seen Susan Kidd anywhere!

  • Jim Vance is a PIMP. I met him at Lima lol. He was just chilling and telling us about his boat. George Michael was awesome too...he has that show that got syndicated. Bob Ryan = the only weather guy i trusted. NBC 4 >

  • I like Jim Vance. Have u seen ch4 recently? They have hired a new man named Craig Michaels. One 11pm newcast it was Vance,Keith Garvin, & new guy Craig Melvin...it was so much beautiful chocolate I was loosing my mind!

  • Thanks for sharing!

    This is Classic!

  • Why is this so funny? Why can't I stop laughing? Hilarious.

  • George Michael is the best! He's the funny one.

  • Jim Vance and George Michael were a great team! The way they treated George is crap.

  • I know someone who works there. He says George Michael wasn't exactly a rose garden.

  • Jim Vance FTW!

  • i got enough meat on me that it's alright lol

  • That looks a trip! :-) (literally) That is funny! I watch News 4 all the time, but I don't remember seeing that particular broadcast. If I need a good laugh, I will surely come back to this clip! :-D

  • lol
