  • I'm baffled by the fact High Schools can get the rights to this. I think it should be left to professional theatre companies and colleges. Taking out the realness of scenes like this would just butcher the show but doing them in a High School would cause ALOT of controversy. Anyways on a related to this video note, Hunter Parrish and Alex Socha do an amazing job, I thought it looked and felt realistic!

  • Lol he couldn't get those buttons open fast enough. I like this version. It's awkward and fast, like all teens are when they're confronted with sex. Plus, Hunter Parrish is extremely friggin hot :D

  • I want to she his ass it must me sexy

  • All I can think of is how I almost saw this with my grandparents....

  • Who cares if its not as good as lea and jon. THIS WAS HOTTT

  • Lindsay Pearce is going to butcher this role and the musical. Maybe then no one will hire her.

  • Alexandra Socha used to go to my high school. It's great to see her succeed in life!

  • is this sped up at parts?

  • they were a tad...erm...excited...i think there was tongue there and it kinda looked like he was attacking her boobs...lea michele and jonathan groff were WAY better, this version just makes melchior look like any other horny teenage boy

  • @MissSamiexx -- I think that's kind of the point. I mean, *neither* of them has done this before, he's freaking out because he represses his own anger so much that he snapped and beat her before, and all that submerged anger and resentment of his community is surfacing; he's also tried to logic himself into thinking that sex is no big deal, that he knows all about it, and so he isn't prepared for the strength of his own sexual urges. It'd be weird if he was all slow and reverent.

  • i still think no one can top lea michele's and jonathan groff's acting

  • I actually really like their version. I think the awkwardness is actually pretty appropriate- it is Wendla's first time and all.

  • R there love scenes between men on spring awakening

  • They ruined Lea and Jonathan's perfection: Lea = best Wendla, Jonathan = best Melchior.

  • I like the scene better when it's idk....sweeter?

This is just a liiiiittle bit spastic.

  • I don't see how this version looks like rape yeah it is sloppy or agressively quick as you guys are all saying but this too me looked as quick youthful sloppy first time I quite liked this version it's very awkward youthful and fresh.

  • like the original better

  • ermm... i don't really know what to say about this video other than yikes, it's like they've changed to script again back to where he rapes her and ouch this was so rushed that i actually thought i had somehow put the video on fastforward. Well, I'm off to go and find a John and Lea version

  • wow i saw this play at Baltimore when i was 12 with my white trash neighbor....... is it wrong that i liked the play?

  • I don't like this one because it always makes me feel like someone pushed fast forward. All of their gestures are so spastic.

  • I agree completely Paige3406

  • Favorite Wendla and least favorite Melchior.

  • @BellaRosa289 in the original, melicior rapes wendla and the song ends with her screaming. i think he was just trying to portray the forcefulness

  • Ooook, he is too agresive for the love of God.

  • You have to be an actor and really comfortable with your body to go through with that.

  • Sorry but, Lea and Jon are soooo much better. Lea and Jon have chemistry, these people have NONE whatsoever. It looks like he's just like "BITCH, I GOT SHIT TO DO SO JUST HURRY THE FUCK UP AND FUCK ME, YEAH?!?!" And the girl looks REALLY angry it's more like she's getting raped, I mean look at her face at the end.

  • @Kittylol9 Well to justify his agression and her fear like she's getting raped-- in the original straight play by Frank Wedekind this scene isn't a mutual compassion... it literally is Wendla inviting Melchior down out of the hayloft and he lures her to him and then blatently rapes her. So I wonder if the directer did that on purpose...

but then... maybe I'm over analyzing and they just don't have the power that other actors who have played the leads did.

  • @ThatGirlsDiary hahah no you are correct, Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater decided to make it more loving for the musical. it was a blatant rape at first but through workshops it gave it a new level added more to the following songs if she was technically a willing participant

  • @Kittylol9 LMFAOOOOO. so true. I mean yeah in the original play, yeah he rapes her, but they changed it for the musical so that it's not rape and it's a mutual decision (like in the one between jon and lea) and yeah she's reluctant but it's cause she doesnt understand not because she doesnt want it but in this its so forceful lol

  • Sorry but, Lea and Jon are soooo much better. Lea and Jon have chemistry, these people have NONE whatsoever. It looks like he's just like "BITCH, I GOT SHIT TO DO SO JUST HURRY THE FUCK UP AND FUCK ME, YEAH?!?!"

  • they're good but to me there's no chemistry bewteen them and it just seems rushed

  • It's a bit aggressive and she gives in to quickly (she kinda turns into a slut for a minute). I don't he is in the moment & rush's through it & is so rough I'd have a hard time if a guy acted like that. He's just about the act of sex instead of wanting to close to her. (this is just my opinion) after see the original broadway cast it's hard to watch anyone else.

  • ii lovee how hunter delivers his lines butt ii agree that not alot of passion is there and they goo quite fast and itt seems forced butt still watchable .

  • I don't think they sucked at all. Yes it's hard to imagine anyone portraying anything like Jon and Lea but every actor does it the way it's felt at that time. I thought it was brilliant, and i felt a lot more of the intensity with these two. it could be the fact that I know that Jon is gay in real life and Hunter isn't.

  • this sucked lea was better

  • I mean after watching Hunter Parrish on weeds forever and seeing this live with Jon and Lea, it's just sooooo weird

  • They suck.

  • lea michele is a better wendla, i think. alexandra is too fast and, i dont know, jerky. i feel like jon and lea's was less vulgar looking, maybe because jonathans gay i don't know. this feels really rehearsed and over the top to me compred to jon and lea, maybe i just prefer them, i am not doubting the talent of the actors ofcourse, just saying i think i liked the direction lea and jon toko it a bit better.

  • @vcav22 Totally agree.

  • Spinrg Awakening is sooo good!

    Hehe. <33 Hunter

  • they really don't capture what this moment is supposed to be like. he really goes at her like an animal, it's so rushed and not right.

  • @adampascal2894 what year was this?

  • @beegirl123456789 umm, i have no clue. recently, because hunter parrish just started playing melchior.

  • @beegirl123456789 I think this was late 2007- early 2008 because this was before the first national tour I believe.

  • @padfootsprincess02 This was actually the closing performance. The tour was already performing when this show had happened.

  • @Kylezilla Oh, ok, I didnt know that the tour started before it closed. So it was probably 2008 then. LOL. Thanks for the info. LOVED Hunter and Alexandra. :D

  • ahhh do you have the rest of this show? I've been looking everywhere for a full Hunter/Alexandra performance

  • she REALLY looks like she doesn't want it by the end.....sort of.

  • LUCKY BITCH!

  • It is so hard not to compare once you've seen Lea Michele and Jon Groff do this scene together. I think they both brought the immaturity to it; they did a good job of portraying how young and inexperienced and overwhelmed the characters are experiencing all of it for the first time, but I didn't feel the emotional connection to it. And parts of it felt a little rushed... Good job, but honestly, seeing Lea and Jon Live on Broadway ruins any other casts for me.

  • I don't think that Socha liked doing this scene with Hunter very much.

  • you should probably put a "I OWN NOTHING" just in case so they know it's copywrighted. : )

p.s. Could you please put up this scene with kyle riabko because I love him! :)

  • Although I love Spring Awakening... It being my favorite musical, this video will be taken down soon for nudity.

  • @kevisaurus Actually, Ive had this video up before for a very long time. And when YouTube had contacted me for this video before, it was because it was a Spring Awakening bootleg. Not because of nudity. (:

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! if its not too much, id love whispering and those youve known from the same show! u rock!!!!!
