I have watched this video throughout the years. The true love of this father and son bond is unlike any other...... If you don't shed a tear or two or in my case a bucket then I don't know what.... This video and story is simply amazing. A teacher showed it to me the first time I was in LPN school and it inspired me to become a great nurse and overall a better person. I cried the first time I watched it, and as I watch it again I still get a bit teary...Again I am inspired to continue my work with children as a nurse, possibly adopted a child with a disability, and continue on my journey of becoming the best

OMG why thy hell can't there be more video's like this on youtube? I have to admit I'm a 36 year old man and this so nearly made me cry. I have two mentally handicapped foster brothers and two mentally handicapped foster sisters, I thought I did a good job with all of them but this video has shown me there is more I can do. I run in marathons and never though of pushing my brother Mark (handicapped due to being starved of oxygen at birth for 20 mins). Dick Hoyt your my hero!

I'm epileptic and I get very suicidal when I start having attacks, which usually come in the form of cluster headaches and grand mal seizures. post-seizure, I usually get very depressed and suicidal. I cannot imagine how/why this guy, 40-something years old, not only managed to make it this long alive, but also lives alone, and hasnt killed himself yet.
