  • Haha. I'm Chinese but when she repeats the letters it's funny

  • does it really need to have a tone while saying the number? i just wonder why does it have to a tone.. like in "er"..

  • @kemura428

Yes. From what I understand every syllable must have a clear intonation...

For example the number one stays the same ---

    The number two falls \

The number five falls then rises \/

    The number ten rises /

  • thank you so much helped me alot with my homework!!

  • why in chats chinese say "88" to say byebye? isn't number 100 pronounced like "bai"? i guess 100100 is harder than 88 (baba) :P

  • @MaliceDelilah that's because 8 means something like happiness or something like that so they're wishing you the maximun happiness :)

  • I found it very useful. I needed to call my sister in China but the operator in her company did not speak any English so I had to refer to this video to learn how to say the numbers of her extension. I missed zero (lin) though! =)

  • wow that sounds a tiny bit like japanese:

ichi ni san shi (or yon) go roku nana hatchi kyu

    jyu

  • Yup - Japanese has its roots in Chinese. If you read Kanji you'll see lots of similarities. ;-)

  • yoo help me learn chinese XD

    Thanks !

  • I think that Mandarin Chinese is actually easy to built. Think about how difficult is Spanish and its conjugations or Anglo-Saxon and all the declensions it had.

The problem of Mandarin is placing the tones upon each word instead of placing them upon the whole sentence.

  • 老师 Diana, are you also learning Spanish?

  • Yes! I studied Spanish in high school and am working on getting better at it. I live in a predominately Hispanic town and it's really useful. Besides, learning is fun! :-)

  • Aha I see. I could help you with your Spanish ^-^ . I am a native speaker of Spanish and I'm trying to learn Chinese.

  • hey awsome - do you speak catalan or the latin american variety?

  • I speak the latin American variety, my dialect is "Castellano" and its very adaptable and easily understood by the other Spanish speakers.

  • I suggest that you should insert the pinyin writing and the Chinese sign of each number above your head, thus one also has a "written imagination" of the sound. That aside, it's very good ;)

  • BOO YAH!!!!I CAN COUNT IN CHINESE NOW

  • you are awesome! thanks a lot for what you are doing
