You're right. There's a puff of smoke, along with what was either jet sounds cut in or a distant sonic boom (couldn't have been an Su-25) and then nothing. There's no debris or flaming parts or smoke trails whatsoever. I think the missile just prematurely detonated and they thought it hit something.
