It appears this scene in the anime was made to look like Phoenix Wright, as a parody, or at least that what I like to believe. I mean, just look at Haruhi's moves (Phoenix, definately) and Koizumi (Edgewood) The way they move is pretty much identical. (Thumbed up your comment, as an OBJECTION to the two thumbs down it had)

By no means the entire anime, just this episode. Even then, the episode by itself isn't made to parody it, it's more likely they payed homage to Ace Attorney by letting the characters here act like Wright and Edgewood
