I guess it just depends on the person, but I think Elphaba is really pretty. Her name is nice too, cute even. Some people were scared of her because of the green skin thing, but she is pretty. And wow, can the actress for Elphaba sing. It is a big musical so people can sing well but still. :)

I do prefer the german version compared to the English language version. When I listen to the german version, in my mind I compare the story to Hitler and the Natzi. It just means a lot more in german, there's more depth to it. However I do love the English version!!!

German doesn't begin to capture the power of the english original.... for example, the phrase "frei und schwerelos" is an anemic and failed attempt to capture the soaring meaning behind "defying gravity" . I'm guessing from your posts (ex. "powerfully words", "meaning full") that your grasp of English in all its subtlety and art is not as strong as you seem to think it is.
