thanks for your comments. try as a substitute for almonds and nuts dried carrot pulp. texture will be a bit different, but you just need to find something dry to mix with the sticky dates. i don't worry about counting calories on raw. if you eat all fresh organic fruits and veggies, the water and fiber will fill you up before you can eat many calories, compared to cooked bread, for example. also the water and fiber keeps us feeling satisfied longer, so we eat less.
Fun! I just made your Raw Apple Pie last week and it was so amazing; it was the first time I had even eaten dates and now I am hooked on them. I think I will make it again and bring it to Thanksgiving dinner!
