  • I posted the first verse of this song on my Facebook & got like 9 likes. Most were from people who I knew didn't like Soundgarden.

  • Weed + Soundgarden = Ultimate combo.

  • @cl3mhims3lf fuckin-a!

  • the snowflake feature goes great with this song

  • 1:52 lol kim looks like dave grohl

  • @jkrowlingdahl

    hahaha Amen! XD \m/

  • Cold bitch...

  • this is heavy..!!

  • feel like a pornstar

  • @BlackSabbathory May the gods of Seattle hear you, mate.

  • I love this song - he sounds incredible

  • There was an radio interview of chris Cornell when he talks about the history of how he started singing, soundgarden, audioslave and this song.

But I can't find it anymore....anyone knows what interview I'm talking about??

  • @Ballermhcdj Opie & Anthony: Chris Cornell - Part 2

  • It's so ironic how Chris's ex-wife is the thumbnail for this video. Love it.

  • he would never dis his ex. he's got a huge respect for her.

  • @jaktrajik Yeah right. If they were in the same room they might have started fist fighting.

  • call me a dog was about his dead friend andy wood from mother love bone...idiots.

  • this song is too cliche even for soundgarden....what is the big deal about soundgarden and aic being original or "out of this world"? i mean...they're good but ,most of the stuff sounds the same...and my brother owns all their records...i think pearl jam is more diverse and daring even if they're constantly being dissed by most grunge fans today

  • @theachtungtree Dude your fuckin dumb....go actually listen to Soundgarden before u make a stupid fuckin comment like this...its SOUNDGARDEN not savagegarden....none of there shit sounds the same and i mean NONE...go listen to there first album Ultramega OK and then their last one Down on the Upside then get back to me on this....if any bands soound the same from the 90's it would be Nirvana and PJ.....no fuckin joke

  • @CaptainGinyu91 ummm.....NO CODE sounds NOTHING LIKE BINAURAL...BINAURAL SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE BACKSPACER.....ultramega ok and down on the upside have at least 2 or 3 cliched heavy metal.like tunes at least....im not shitting no one...not a secret

  • Comment removed

  • @CaptainGinyu91 Exactly. There's a reason Nirvana and PJ are so much more well-known than AIC, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, MLB, and the rest: Because more people can listen to them easily. They're more poppy and more similar from song to song, so people with shorter attention spans can listen to them easier. I love Nirvana and Pearl Jam but SG vs. anybody? No fucking contest.

  • @cgnetwork1 Dude u seriously could not have said that any better man.....I saw them live at the Gorge and holy shit man best experience i have ever had....Listening to them on cd has no comparison to seeing them live, it puts them on a whole new level....Anyway man its good to know there are dudes like u who know what the fucks up when it comes to music......rock the fuck on man!

  • @CaptainGinyu91 I just saw them in Newark. I couldn't hear for 3 days. Rock on brotha

  • @cgnetwork1 you cannot put those bands records with pj records side by side without noticing pj's constant change and as a matter of fact they did not made it easy to their "grunge" fans either...for instance spin the black circle and aye davanita ere on the same pj record.....god's dice and soon forget on the same pj record too...same for lots of songs from no code to this day, nirvana and bands like aic and soundgarden were the same metal-punk-pop thing over and over and over again...

  • @CaptainGinyu91 Somebody's butt-hurt. So the guy doesn't know his grunge. BFD.

  • @theachtungtree Soundgarden was by far the most experimenting and daring band of hte 90's. If you can't agree on that then you have a hearing problem.

  • @Audioslave3 yeah...original MY ASS...soundgarden ripped the first sabbath-purple records....period

  • @theachtungtree That's okay. You just can't understand talent when you hear it.

  • @Audioslave3 and you can understand talent? audioslave? seriously? go listen to REAL talent like Coltrane or whatever...audioslave and you're fucking proud of "recognizing real talent", fucking joke

  • @festeringhatred yup soundgarden is a prime example, with off time signatures and soaring vocals that channel classic rock. Add some 90's edge with biting irony, this music is one to do homework on.

  • Where can i get this tune, unreal!!!

  • @fightmonkey2 this was included on the Spoonman single

  • what a gnarly drum fill at 2:07

  • Comment removed

  • @NoRulesInNam no, they werent divorced when this song was written.

  • Voice is unbelieveable. Song is great. Why have I NEVER heard this on the radio? It's a sad state of the music industry when some B-side single is miles ahead of anything produced today. Awesome.

  • Cold Bitch :@

  • @festeringhatred

    Amen!

  • Grunge Gods.

  • Was this unreleased ?

  • This song sums up soundgarden.. booming screams, heavy as shit riffs.. possibly my favorite of theirs and it's not even on a album. That says a lot about them compared to other bands

  • Should've been an A side.

  • Great...greeeaaaaat song!!

  • cornell kicks ass!!

  • hahaha this video has Susan Silver on the thumbnail, haha Cold Bitch ! She undoubtedly made 4 accounts and disliked this.

    awesome stuff

  • I don't believe Soundgarden and the like will ever become "mainstream" but I'm glad more younger people are becoming aware of such amazing music. We need bad music to make good music look even better...

  • @festeringhatred i would like to add that stone temple pilots reunited to and system of a down is back from hiatus something is surely happening

  • But in your heart I'd freeze...

  • nobody else sounds like the way soundgarden does... everything right about them

  • Singing this song these days would be a suicide attempt of Chris. He would just explode. I love this song and it's to bad we will never see it live.

  • @evilnerdap You never know. His voice has been getting better and better lately.

  • @Audioslave3

Dude I really wish it would be like that. But in his age its absolutely not possible for him to hit those notes. he is in different league now. thats fine but in '92 when I saw them live he almost made my brain explode with slaves and bulldozers...pipes man, pipes...

  • @Audioslave3

Well true but he will never come close to this. not at his age. Lucky to have seen them back in '92 when "slaves and bulldozers" made my brain implode.

  • @evilnerdap listen to his recent cover of "call me a dog" I know its not this song, which is probably the hardest soundgarden song to sing, but its a HUGE improvement from the audioslave era.

  • @PGROSYE02 idiot. he wrote and sang call me a dog in 1990, looooong before audioslave

  • Hottest man ever. This song.That voice........THUD!

  • I'm surprised some of the songs from the Badmotorfinger sessions didn't make the album. This one is awesome.

  • They should jus take out a dislike button for this song, seriously

  • This is definitely from the Badmotorfinger sessions.

  • @festeringhatred brah by next year rock is gunna hav a MASSIVE kick in the ass with soundgarden touring, alice in chains hopefully making another album hopefully, foo fighters makin an album, nickelback (they r okk) makin a new album and a bunch of other stuff

  • 4 communist don't like this. fk em

  • @sgmailman15 100,000+ views and 4 dislikes. Nothing to be worried about.

  • @sgmailman15

I'm communist and i like this

  • Susan Silver was here,,,

  • Nvm, I jus read the description, haha

  • Wat album was this off? Its not on the EPs Fopp & Screaming life & not on Louder Than Love & Ultra Mega OK.

  • @worthlessburger7 It's the B side to the Spoonman single. This track was released in 1994 but the production sounds like earlier SG. Sounds more like Badmotorfinger circa 1992.

  • @festeringhatred but AICs new shit dont have Layne....& you have to admit, it's not really AIC w/ out him, his voice was so important to the type of music they played

  • I would kill to listen to this acapella!

  • HOLY SHIT

  • @festeringhatred beavis and butthead are also coming back. return to sanity? can't wait.

  • chains can't touch soundgarden anymore now that layne is gone...but of course neva forgotten!!!

  • amen dude

  • 3:07 ala verga pinche gritote bien vergas

el mejor vocalista de todos los tiempos!

  • what the hell does he mean in teh part before he says in your heart I will freeze.

  • @DioPriest13 the woman that he's talking about (more than likely his wife of the time) is emotionally cold and maybe kind of a bitch to him. What a badass song

  • How he's screeeeeeeming!!! Jesus... four-octave vocal range and unique powerful belting technique... I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Dammit, i didn't know this one... what is, Badmotorfinger era? It's proving me how Cornell is (was) the best singer of all times...

Time for grunge reunions, hm? AIC have made a surprising nice album, Stone Temple Pliots too... so, time for SOUNGARDEN to be back!!!

  • @festeringhatred certainly hope you're right.

  • Festering hated ~ hysterical comment and you couldn't be more right! So needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see both shows again!

  • @festeringhatred AMEN brotha, that's exactly it...mainstream modern rock needs to get back in the game...and the industry needs a good swift cleanup on aisle 10...its long enough we've had a dead industry

  • the mightiest voice to ever scream

  • Mutating Creating, you are the baddest person ever to live.

  • Look at what happened to Alice in Chains. Amazing band, amazing legacy. Layne dies and they get a new singer and release a new album. Maybe if it was actually good I wouldn't care, but on top of replacing Layne they release a lackluster record with only half the songs actually being decent. They put a song on the radio and now everyone's like omg! Alice In Chains rules! Now they will be just another band being remembered from the radio, well you get what I mean.

  • this is a fucking amazing song!!!! i own all but 1 of thier albums (screaming life) and have never heard this song before!! which album is it off of or is it like Bleed Together where they wrote the song but broke up before putting it on a cd?

  • Comment removed

  • Witch wife is this song about?

  • something tells me his voice sounds like they recorded this right after louder than love...?

  • It was great news hearing they were getting back together, heard it on Howard Stern and immediately went on the internet to see if it was true. I really hope they do another album or two now that they are back together.

I read Cornel and Thayil really want to release a B-side album and a box set of unreleased songs which would be a huge for fans and something they have been wanting for years. I can't wait for a boxed set of rare and unreleased/ unheard stuff from Soundgarden.

  • well said. sad but true...they had their time and they're my favorite band...and allways will be...

  • First of all, Chris is not old, hes 45 and has alot more music in front of him, and listen to hunger strike 2009 with pearl jam and then say he cant sing like he used to

  • 45 is fairly old for a guy in a rock band like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden. Chris can't sing like he used to. These are just facts. I'm not bashing him saying he's an old fart who can't sing, I'm just giving reasons for why I think they shouldn't get back together. It's only right for some bands. In my opinion it isn't right for Soundgarden. Long time fans understand that they should let the past stay in the past. I'm not against a reunion show at all, but I would be against a full on reunion.

  • @7d7e7f7 well i respect your opinion, but i have faith in Chris, his singing is getting better as we speak. btw why do you think they shouldn't have gotten back together??

  • @7d7e7f7, they are bound to have old material that they never finished, i wouldnt mind hearing it if they went in that direction, as long as chris doesnt have tooo much creative controll. im all for a reuion tour though!

  • @7d7e7f7

just cant agree with you. As a real long time fan I really want them back! Thats the only thing possible...

  • @Dagaman64 he can sing good, but not like he used to

  • close minded lol

  • one of the greatest bands of a time

  • Shit I love this.

  • Started listening to SoundGarden today, also happens to the day I feel even more alive :D.

  • @rutger5000 ..Ahh, must have been the day you tried to live. Nice.

  • REUNION IS HAPPENING :D Chris posted a really strong hint on his twitter :D

  • i miss soundgarden

  • In your mouth

I might feel the serpent's kiss

    In you womb

I might swim in fetal bliss

    But in your heart

    I'd freeze

  • wow .. cant believe i let this one slip through the cracks.. what a treat.

  • One of the best Soundgarden tunes.

Very beautiful Harmelodic Development, reminiscent of Beethoven.

Wish these guys would get it together again.

Please Chris get together with Kim and Ben, write some tunes and get Matt to finish them off.

  • @justinmeditation man, a reunion would be awesome but sadly I dont think it would happen, but never say never. I think that even if Matt was "busy" with Pearl Jam they could get Jimmy Chamberlain, his style is similar but would still bring something new, and his fills and stamina are just freaking awesome. That would be badass, but I honestly think that Matt do it if the others were in, hes a stand up kinda guy. The holdout is Chris, sadly, as long as he feels he has something else going on.

  • the more we comment like the this the more Chris gets the message. I'd prefer to have Matt, Kim & Ben play & sing their own tunes without Chris than not at all.

  • Soundgarden Reunion was the best new year gift i could wish for!!!!!! It's finally true man!

  • Absolutely! I'm so stoked!!!

  • @draininglizard IT IS HAPPENING NOW :D :D :D :D :D

  • ITS OFFICIAL!!!

  • Hmm, I'm mixed on this one. It was released with the Spoonman single and the thinness of the guitar tone sounds more like Superunknownish to me as do the vocals being a little more pushed back in the mix ala Limo Wreck. BMF had the best production of any of their albums imo. This sounds a little more tinny like Superunknown.

  • Happy Birthday Kim!

  • if you look at this in every aspect its one of soundgardens best songs hands down. It's just in every way shape and form A POWERFUL FUCKING SONG.

  • Man I can sing this to the tee.. if only I had a band that could play it..

  • Well my band does! :D We just happen to be from Portugal. :)

  • You guys have a vocalist that can actually sing this?!

    Wow.... respect, man!

  • Cornell can fucking scream like a motherfucker! SO HIGH!!!

  • Damn... that pic of Chris at 3:58 is so hot! Haha... awesome song though ;)

  • Sound so much like BMF album...

  • Yeah, just remember like R.E.M. , EVERYBODY feels fuk'd up at some point or rather , just remember, YOUR the strong one.

  • i think most guys at sum point in there life feel like the wrds to this song after being dumped by a fucking bitch who wants 2 suck another cock

  • this band never ceases to amaze me, brilliant tune after brilliant tune, even b sides, SOUND FUCKIN' GARDEN ROCKS!!

  • damn..he must have been really angry with this girl huh? lmao

    amazing song though

  • lol....and imagine how cathartic is must be to get the anger out with HIS voice. lol.

  • best song!!!

    best lyrics!!!

    cold dog

  • the most epic sondgarden song ever!

  • 1:50 is so fucking awesome.. started as a clean, raspy note, to a fucking scream... my favourite song of soundgarden... behind that is outshined and slaves and bulldozers!

  • Chris and his ex wife what a pair!

  • ke temaso

  • Listen to this on headphones. Amazing.

  • Now here's a nice song depicting women.

    Yes, I am a bitter misogynist... and I don't give a damn.

  • no wonder youre a 31 year old virgin

  • Implying that my hatred of women results in me being a virgin is like suggesting that liking dogs will make you catch the rabies.

I was a virgin BEFORE I started to hate women.

And BTW, in case you didn't notice, there's plenty of men in this world who viscerally hate women and still get laid!!!

  • that still doesnt help ur cause because all people are virgins before they hate anything

  • It isn't supposed to "help my case", Killie... It's just about establishing that hating women has nothing to do with not getting any.

She used a logical fallacy: if you hate A, you can't have A.

But the truth is that you can hate A and still have A. And you can love A and still don't have A.

Then you came and stated: none of us had A before we hated X, Y or Z.

Well, of course, genius. But that doesn't imply that hating A will prevent you from having A.

    So again, logical fallacy.

  • LOL SOMEBODYS NOT GETTING ANY

  • Why are you shouting? Do you feel threatened or something?...

Of course I'm not getting any, smartass. That should be obvious from my username.

  • threatened by a 31 year old virgin making stupid comments over the internets? do you think you're a winner or something?

  • Actually, I think you're a big time loser and I'll tell you why: because you think getting laid is a synonym for being successful.

Success is about getting what we want in life, not about getting what we don't want.

And since I don't want to get laid, not getting laid is not a failure to me.

Regarding my allegedly stupid comments, you're the one who stated something that it's pretty obvious for everyone who just reads my username.

Now go and take a piss on a live electrical rail, kiddo.

  • Lol i never said anything about sex being proportional to success. basically, You make it really public about such alienation, you're bound to attract unwanted attention. something like that is a magnet to mocking, since you're blatantly a bit of a lonely outcast trying too hard to be different and being overly whingey through the anonymity of the internets.

  • That kind rhetorical nonsense may work with your mommy, dude, but not with other people: of course you never said anything about sex being proportional to success you did however implied it when you stated someobodys not getting any and then asked me if I considered myself a winner or something.

  • And the only kind of attention that I am bound to attract is the one from retards like you and that bitch to whom I have originally responded. You two were the only ones who bothered answering, and that was only because of your raucous prejudice.

  • The last part of your comment is nothing but pure speculation. I happen to like my username, feel no shame in using it since its actually true and I dont care about mocking (as all real men do, specially coming from idiot kids like you). Furthermore Im not trying to be different (thats for pre-pubescent children like you and what the heck is different anyway?)...

  • In conclusion: you know nothing about myself, dont even know me and, once again, by insisting in the notion that theres something wrong with me, only reveal your strident prejudice and blatant ignorance. Thats all you are to me: an ignorant, a vulgar bully, a common thug. Go fuck yourself with a broomstick, asshole. I will keep this discussion as long as you keep answering. You started this, I will finish it. Zero tolerance for prejudice.

  • lol what an internet warrior. keep it up, this is entertaining. are you that self conscious that you are offended by some dweeb trolling on youtube?

  • @MrKsizzle

There's definitely something masochistic about you, isn't it? Did you forget to take your pills again, honey?

And yes, prejudice is offensive - no matter who, when and where it comes from. Trying to minimize it by employing the "internet trolling" excuse won't save your face and won't make you less of a bully.

Here's a thought: stop judging people simply by their sexual (in)experience. You may not believe it, but you don't need to diminish other people to be happy.

  • @The31YearOldVirgin I have a feeling that maybe, the root cause of your misogyny might have a strong link to your youtube name ahaha!

  • @AllThingsGuitar

Actually, both my user name and my misogyny have the same common root: 2nd and 3rd wave feminism.

  • @The31YearOldVirgin You know, I dislike females at times, but we kind of need them to continue as a population... To say all of them are terrible is very ignorant. I read all your posts on this video and in the best terms I can put it; you are a dumbass. Even if you're gay or just an internet troll, you're posts are annoying. If you're for real, have fun releasing sexual tension by yourself your whole life, ignorant fool. Don't ruin this amazing song.

  • @Garsound

"To say all them are terrible is very ignorant", says Mr. Nobody-on-the-Internets. Dude, your opinion counts as much as anybody else here: absolutely nothing.

If you find that my legitimate comments ruin this song, then it's 100% YOUR problem, not mine. Here's a suggestion for you, you pompous moron: don't read them.

I'm not gonna change my opinion about women just because some self-righteous idiot doesn't approve of my views. Go fuck yourself... and take your beloved women with you.

  • @The31YearOldVirgin I'm not one to get in internet fights because they're ridiculous. But you're just out there. You're nobody on the internet too, and in real life for that matter, made clear through your comments. Stop being so literal idiot, it doesn't literally ruin the song, it's just stupid and this song meaning isn't calling out all women, Soundgarden would be offended and baffled by your ignorance. Lighten up, you sound like a big tool. You must have a mental illness. If so, I am sorry.

  • @Garsound

LOL! You are the one getting all messed up because of other peoples’ comments, you dumbass, not me. It’s hilarious that a 17 year-old like you with any real life experience can even contemplate the idea of lecturing others on their opinions. Soundgarden? Fuck them, they’re people, not gods. I love their music, but I reserve myself the right to interpret it as I will. Soundgarden don’t own my heart and neither do you, you retard.Really kiddo, go fuck yourself... and I am NOT sorry.

  • Great song. Chris' operatic vocals can be grating and out of place at times and it's no exception here, but the song highlights the guys' awesome talent. Glad to have been around when all of those great music was being made.

  • man what the fuck happened to Chris?

he looks like a fucking dweeb now.

  • dude, years on the road,,, has a way of putting a lotta years on you fast........ think about it?

  • dude, 0:44, the only guy with jeans rolled up

  • What? Im talking about Chris Cornell now like today he looks stupid.

  • That was the beginning of the end, at 0:44. Like I said, the only one with his jeans rolled up.

I think Chris is catching a lot of flack these days & if you said that to his face he might just whoop your ass.

  • awesome. haven't heard this song in a ages
