China has 1.3 billion people, and 56 different ethnic groups! It always makes me laugh when they say there is a "typical" Chinese look, considering how diverse the country is, and also people from the north look quite different than people from the south. Most people that generalize and stereotype have never spend a significant amount of time around a diverse group of Chinese people!
ok. now i get why i was confused. i normally can tell asians apart just by looks but i was confused for emi. she has a chinese taste to her image yet she's japanese. now it makes sense. the eyes, nose, are not quite japanese even with the surgical adjustments
geographical region? Chinese, Japanese and Koreans are in the same geographical region.
can you tell apart Norwegians, Swedes and Finns? I bet you can't.
BTW look up 'MeiMei' on google image search. She looks typically Japanese to me but shes ethincally Chinese. It just proves that hair, make-up and clothes can make you look like a different nationality.
Yeah. True. I should take some genetic test cuz I seriously do not know what am I. My grandma looks like one of those southern japanese old ladies even though she's not. One of my cousins looks mixed Japanese and Chinese. In reality, my whole family doesn't really look stereotypical South Chinese, even though we technically are. My dad and brother are probably the only two in the family that look full southern chinese. I'm confused as hell. X[
Yeah, I agree. She reminds me of Jolin when I first saw her. Usually you can tell Japanese and Chinese people apart by the "look" in their eyes, but for Emi.. she has a distinctly Chinese look in her eyes. Wikipedia says she grew up in Shanghai, but her official website denies it. So IDK..

no you cannot tell. you can noly tell by their hair, facial expressions/gestures, clothes, make-up etc.
if a japanese and chinese wore exactly the same clothes, posed the same way, same haircut, you couldnt even tell
RapidEyesCream 2 years ago
er..no. i can tell apart asians almost 100% of the time.
every geographical region has different characteristics. if you can't tell, you haven't reached my level of perception yet.

@mryummyumm
alot of time asian phenotypes can overlap, so people can look like another ethnicity. so you can't be 100% correct.

and if you didnt know: most asians dont like to look japanese anymore - its considered 90's, early 2000's and ugly.
japanese are known for their round heads and bucked teeth and short legs.
asians prefer to look korean now, just look at, look up 'min hyo rin' and tell me you've seen a japanese with a nose like that
