Great bird, the PMDG MD-11X

You can take it to the next level by using voice control add-on called Multi Crew Experience (for which there is a downloadable Demo).

Simply give voice commands to set heading, altitude, speed and presto things happen.

You can even talk to native ATC or Radar Contact controllers.

All you nee is a hedset with microphone to experience the thrill of voice control.

@JetFucker330 A believe you can choose, not to use it. There's a seperate knob for it in the cockpit. If the plane isnt loaded verry heavily i think pilotes can choose not to lower the middle gear to reduce wear and tear or something??

@bomthom007 PMDG is precision manuals developement or design (not sure) group. they make uber realistic addons for FS. They're mostly quite expensive. this one is $100 from aerosoft (google it)

Depends on what kind of computer you have. The VC eats allot of frames but the exterior is ok for me.

Well, I'm not exactly sure, but I think the Md-11 has an option where you don't have to lower the center gear if the gross operating weight is really light.

PMDG MD11 doesn't have a centre gear. It's not designed that well, their 747 is better.

this may be one of the earlier version of the MD-11, which did not have the middle gear.

If it's a light gross operating weight, the middle gear can be stored in the up position.

Oh yea I know, In real life I've never seen a KLM MD-11 with its centre gear up. This is just a flight sim though. I don't think I've ever seen any MD-11 with its centre gear up.

This is an FS2004 fluke. For some reason when playing back the PMDG MD-11 in FS2004 the center gear sometimes doesn't show up which is really annoying.

You are right, flightcrews can actually lock the center gear in the up position. This would, however, only be used for maintenance, never in flight.

I like the wing flex feature on pMDG aircrafts, but they kinda over did the flutter effect. I don't think in reallife the wing flutter is that noticiable.

no actually, not at all. all airplanes are tested and such before going into production so, no it's not too small :D

well yeah, I know that, but just looking at it it doesn't look like it would do much, compared to the rudders of Boeings and Airbuses.

It's a function of how far the rudder is away from the center of gravity. As this distance is quite large on the MD-11, the rudder does not need to be enormous.
